Recommended Customer Reviews

Do not use! If your warranty company sends them, tell them you need another company! We had many issues with this company and had to get a second opinion to come in and fix the original problem plus clean up their mess. Also, most of what the recommended wasn't covered by warranty and we spent a lot of $$. Beware.

Unfortunately, I'm reading the reviews now and its too late! A year ago our home warranty recommended this company to fix our downstairs a/c unit which was blowing very hot air. The "salesman" came out and stated the compressor was shot and recommended replacing the unit as it was 11 years old, "it didn't make sense to put a good part in a bad unit". The home warranty company however would only pay for the compressor which was broken and not a new unit, the salesman did explain this to us and we elected to have the unit replaced immediately as it was June in Texas( $2900). We did collect the money from the warranty company for the compressor.
However last week one year and 4 weeks later, our downstairs a/c unit is blowing hot air again. We call this company thinking everything is still under warranty. It takes 5 days to come out to inspect and the same salesman states now the problem is the attic aspect of the a/c unit which was not fixed last year, only the outside unit was fixed last year and now it will be another ($3300) to fix. When I hear replace the a/c I assume its the WHOLE a/c unit, not just part of it!! I was livid!! and told the guy why he didn't let me know only 1/2 of the a/c unit was being fixed and that the other 1/2 was not in good condition!! I could have elected to keep the home warranty, saved up the money or better yet just fix it all at once so its not broken in the july heat again!! I feel he was misleading, he was not apologetic at all and even stated it wasn't his job to look at the inside portion of the a/c unit since it was the compressor that was bad last year. Terrible business management!! I have no experience with HVAC units and I rely on people who do and I will not recommend this company to anyone! Be honest, look at everything involved and let the consumer know the big picture.
My advice, find another company!

Never heard from these guys until they came today. Besides taking care of the problem we had, the technician went out of his way to point out that in one of the rooms which doesn't seem to get as cool as the rest of the house, the outlet grill on the ceiling, the fins were pointing the wrong way. We also received some advise as to how to increase the life of the compressor in the condenser unit.
Kudo to them!!

Shady operation. Lied to my home warranty company. Came out to fix my furnace that was leaking water and 1 week later had the same problem. I don't recommend this company at all!

combine all these bad reviews together and it would express my experience.
awful, awful customer service
for all the big talk they gave me over the phone today, these reviews are testimony to what their true nature is.
stay away

Wish I could give a zero star rating! Worst experience I have ever had with a business since owning my home. For starters Charlie who I am assuming is the owner. Is the biggest scam artist and crook I have met to this day even compared to our current president. I was told that I needed a certain product which was gonna cost me an arm and a leg but I was OK with that if it was going to fix my problem. According to Charlie they would be back out the next day to install and resolve the issue. After he left I did my research and found that the product would not fix my issue and in fact it was recommended that nobody uses the product. So I called a friend of mi e to find out more about the product and he also said that it won't fix anything and that it will most likely cause more problem. So after my research I called the next day to cancel my appointment and to get a refund. And the receptionist sara was very rude and she was also very rude the first day I spoke to her so I wasn't surprised at all. But after numerous times of trying to get my money back I keep getting the run around. I will be turning this matter into a legal matter. I have contacted the warranty company and they apologized and stated that this wasn't the first case they have had with them and that my guys is about to lose a contract with them. I personally can't wait to watch this crook lose all the way around. Please I advice everybody to stay away!

I don't usually write reviews unless someone is really good or really bad. This is the latter case.
I had this company assigned to me from the Home Warranty Company, and boy was that a bad idea. Every review here states the same thing I went through with these guys and more.
They came in promptly for the first visit and collected their visit fee but after that the nightmare started. Mind you this is July in Houston, TX and its a 100 degrees outside . I have a 6 month old in the house who is to say the least uncomfortable with the heat.
The technician spent all but 2 minutes in the attic and told me the evaporator coil is leaking, takes almost 5 days to send his diagnosis to the Warranty company. IN the meantime, I call these guys multiple times to be lied over and over again that the report has been sent. Now the warranty company says its going to cost me $1500 out of pocket based on the diagnosis report. I ask for the detailed breakdown from MyGuys HVAC but I get nothing from them. The lady who answers the phone calls starts screening my calls, she answers when I call from a new number. WOW! Now, its been 3 weeks and still no solution and I am not going to approve a $1500 repair that I know nothing of. Almost a month later, the Myguys HVAC calls me and asks me if I want the repairs done, this is after avoiding my calls all this while. I have a one word answer "NO".
I have the home warranty company assign a new company and guess what, the price was cut in half $750. My AC is working great and cools like its the North pole in my house.
So along with being unresponsive and unreliable MYGUYS HVAC is also trying to rip me off.
STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS!!!!

Stay away!!! My AC was not cooling properly. I contacted my warranty company and they sent out My Guys. After inspecting my unit it was determined that I needed a new evaporator coil. Before the tech left he told me that the warranty company was notorious for not getting the orders put in a timely manor. Four days later when I still had not heard from my warranty company, I contacted my warranty company and they had not heard from My Guys. The warranty company then attempted to contact them, this process took two days. Two weeks after the initial inspection they were finally on the way to fix my unit. Once the clock got to an hour after the scheduled appointment time I decided that I didn't want them to touch my AC. I then contacted another AC company.

My experience only?
Was assigned with home warranty company ( third assigned contractor ) . The Home warranty company tried Saturday afternoon up to 8pm to make contact for my A/C repair which was out. No response / no repair / hotel night1 .
Sunday I attempt to make contact.....actually 5 of them, including 2 to the 24 hour, emergency line. No response / no repair / hotel night 2.
Monday 8am, no contact by My guys heating and air, I go with a different fix. When the tech called me at 8:20pm Monday night, I told him I didn't need the services of his company.
Having been a service provider, this non response tells me my business wasn't important. Not even a return call to explain. I will NEVER call this company.

STAY AWAY! Wow, what a untrustworthy company.
Sunday - Our A/C goes out during the hottest week of the year. Called up our home warranty company and they arranged "My Guys Heating and Air Conditioning" to check it out. There would be a 2 day lead time before they arrived, which I can understand during their busy time.
Wednesday arrives - Michael, the technician from My Guys arrives.. 30 minutes late... but that's ok because he's gonna fix my problem! It's 100 damn degrees out today. He leaves the big pink van running in my driveway while he comes inside(red flag). Then I learn he has 12 appointments today (red flag). I describe my problem, he goes outside.
Literally, one minute later - he comes back in. Says my lines are frozen and he'll have to come back another day. Nooo - Come on Michael! You're supposed to be my savior! I ask him to show me where they are frozen. We head outside. Sure enough - the lines are not frozen. He says he'll need to do some more investigation.
I stand by his side while he checks the capacitor and contactor on the outside unit. He describes a problem to me that the contactor is tripping and that's likely the cause of my problem. I ask him to keep it "activated" while I go inside for a test. Still no cold air. I let him know and go back inside - It's hot out there! He says he'll need to do some more investigation.
A few minutes go by. Michael comes inside and says that he really recommends installing a hard start kit. It'll "prevent these problems from happening in the future". My hopes get up - did he find my problem? I ask. No, no he hasn't. He's just trying to upsell me before he fixes my a/c. He also recommends installing an overview switch on the drip pan. I let him know I already have one. He reluctantly heads outside (have I mentioned how hot it is)?
Michael spends a solid 3-4 minutes continuing his investigation. He comes back inside and says that the pressures are not equal and they should be (while the unit is off). He says the TXV is broken and they'll need to replace it along with the coil. He says he'll need to take information down from the unit it in the attic. He quickly goes in the attic and gets it. While he was there, I'm sure he saw the new drain pan and overflow switch on the unit (more on that later).
Michael does his paperwork, says he'll get with the warranty company to get the parts authorized. I'll hear from them in a day or two. My face starts sweating when he says it might take a week for the part to arrive. One week? It gets up to 84 in this house during the day! I sigh and cut him his $60 check negotiated with the warranty company. Michael heads out the door to his van - it's still running.
Thursday comes and goes. Friday comes and goes. I call up the warranty company Friday afternoon and ask what the deal is. They call My Guys. My Guys are closed for the week. Face goes into my palms as I realize I have to go the weekend without a/c.I call My Guys and leave a detailed voicemail anyways. They'll call me Monday morning right?
Monday arrives. It's hot as balls. I've had enough of trying to sleep in a hot house. I decide to look into this myself. I look at YouTube. I look at Google. Run a test. I spend about 15 minutes in the attic and find the problem (blown capacitor). I head to HVAC store and buy a $12 replacement. Spend 5 minutes putting it in. Flip power back on. YESSSSS!!! I sit on the couch, smile, and relax as the house cools to a nice, pleasant 76 degrees.
I wait for a call from my warranty company or My Guys. Nothing.
Tuesday morning, I call up My Guys and ask what's going on with my a/c repair. They say they are on the other line with my warranty company RIGHT NOW to authorize the repairs. I ask why they are just talking to my warranty company 6 days after the initial visit. Don't they know it's hot outside? They say they're providing some additional information that the warranty company needed before it can be authorized. I ask when I'll hear more on the repairs. I'll hear from My Guys and my warranty company very soon. Both - I ask? Yes.
That afternoon, I get a call from my warranty company. They've authorized the repairs but there will be some costs not covered. Such as a new drain pan, overflow switch, etc. Really? What's it gonna cost me (above and beyond what my warranty company pays)? $700.
So then I drop the bomb on my warranty company. I give them the details. I let them know I fixed this for $12 with no HVAC knowledge. I tell them My Guys is a scam and they shouldn't work with them. They decide to refund my $60 check to My Guys.
Long story short: Do not work with this company.
