Incepted in 1961. Barnett's began as a family-run enterprise by Harold Barnett and his brother-in-law Dick Parkhurst. In 1964, Dick departed the company to pursue opportunities in Alaska. Harold specialized in plumbing, heating, and air systems in newly constructed homes until the recession hit in the 1980s when his son Bob assumed control and redirected the company’s focus.
