T S.I'm was having water pressure issues at the house, so I called them. Last year they came out to fix some in warranty findings from an inspector. One issue was a fitting on the water heater. The second issue was water pressure. The plumber argued with me saying the fitting was fine and the inspector was wrong. He said he would need to check with her supervisor. Apparently the supervisor advised him to make the change as the inspector noted. He then advised he corrected the water pressure. I schedule them last week to check the pressure today and advised it had been an issue previously noted and supposedly addressed by Mustang. He called back today to confirm they were on the way and it would be COD. I asked why this wasn't disclosed when we scheduled the appointment. He said that's what I'm doing now. I asked him his minimum charge he said $190 an hour. I asked if that was comparable to his competitors. He advised yes they just recently had to raise prices to keep up. He said we're a business we need to make money. I replied with a you're a business that tends to act unprofessional. He said he would cancel the appointment and hung up.
I then called two local plumbing shops. One wanted $125 an hour and the other wanted $150 an hour.
Overpriced, unethical and unprofessional ... poor combo for Mustang.
Very disappointed. Stay away from these guys if possible. They came out to diagnose a drain issue and busted put some rock outside and cut a hole in the drywall inside of my home. When they found out that it wasn't a drain issue they just left the holes for me to repair. No one will return my calls. Very bad service and will end up costing me a lot of money because of their incompetence. Worst plumbing experience I have ever had.
My home warranty company sent Mustang out to us to repair a leaking water heater. They diagnosed the problem and said the whole heater had to be replaced. This is a huge repair bill and when they called it in to the home warranty company for authorization, they balked. They would have approved it, I think, but they needed an itemized estimate of the repair faxed to them before they would do so.
Repeated calls by both myself and the warranty company to Mustang in order to get this itemized repair estimate were fruitless... they had gone completely MIA. By the time the evening had rolled around, no one at Mustang was answering the phones, even on the emergency line, and my warranty company couldn't find anyone else in their vendor list to come out and do the repair. We had been without hot water for two days at this point ... with an infant in the house, and a huge chunk of his bedroom ceiling destroyed due to moisture from the leak, this was not a fun time for us.
I finally ended up calling my own plumber, who came out and said only the heating element had to be replaced, and it was under warranty. This dramatically reduced the bill and the home warranty company approved it immediately. If this had been done initially, I could have contacted the manufacturer and had them send a replacement part. Our family ended up having to wait until the following week, with no hot water, before I could arrange for the part to be installed.
Mustang went MIA at our time of greatest need, and our family was without hot water for several more days than we needed to be. I would not recommend them.
Luke A.I have had experiences with Mustang 2 different houses I have owned. While each plumber that comes out to service a warranty issue is nice, the fact that the original infrastructure was installed wrong (in both cases!) doesn't really make for a good plumbing company. It often takes a few years before some pipe and installation issues come to light. The older your house is, the more difficult it is to get them to correct the obvious problem (not repairs- installation issues!). Because of our last 2 house issues with Mustang, we will not buy another home if they are the sub-contractors.
Brittni B.Wow, these guys are extremely rude and unprofessional. Said they would be at my apartment between 12-5pm which is a very generous window of time. They didn't arrive until 5:45 after I called them twice. They didn't bother to call me and explain they wouldn't be on time.
When they did finally arrive the guy who performed the "work" was rude and condescending. I'm a college student and he must have seen the books I had laying around and he started telling me my major was pointless because I wouldn't make any money and how he made lots of money being a plumber. He then accused me of using too much toilet paper before he even did any work. All of this is a very rude condescending tone. I was alone in my apartment and he made me feel very uncomfortable.
All he did was unclog the toilet with a snake device but he didn't actually diagnose the real underlying problem, which was not too much toilet paper because as I told him I don't put toilet paper in the toilet anymore because it clogs up every single time.
So he basically came into my home, was rude and insulting, unclogged the toilet but did not bother to do any real work or effort to find out what was really happening and charged $200.00. What a complete joke.
We called a different plumber, Ski's Plumbing who did an excellent job and actually figured out the real problem why the toilet was chronically clogging up.
Avoid Mustang Plumbing, they reek.
Jack did a fine job of getting my water heater to restart. Turned out to be a bad excessive flow valve (EFV) that shuts down if the flow is too great. The problem is that I wasn't told there would be a service charge and I was left to assume it was still covered by our home warranty as they plumbed the entire house. I was charged $147 to remove a defective part that I was told wasn't even needed. 15 minutes worth of work, that is almost $600/hr. I'll never call Mustang again and I'll be sure to tell my neighbors to not call them either.
Go somewhere else! There are plenty of other plumbers to choose from!
I only used Mustang because my builder used them for our plumbing when building our house. Today I called to have them check a pipe outside that I thought was done by them. The plumber who came to my house was very nice. That was the one plus. He looked at the pipe outside and immediately told me he couldn't fix it and that it needed to be repaired by the company who installed our sprinkler system. He was at my house less than 5 minutes. He said he was going to make a phone call as he didn't do anything at your house. (meaning....why should I charge you when I didn't do anything) Well, he came back 5 minutes later and told me he did have to charge me. His superior wouldn't let him go without a service charge. I got the feeling the plumber didn't agree with charging me. $77 later!!! He even said that he gave me a discount. I would hate to know what the actual service call would have been if he DID fix something. I do realize they drove to my house which equals time and gas, but $77 for 5 minutes to do NOTHING!! I don't think that sounds reasonable at all. NO thank you
simple new kitchen faucet install. mustang did the installation. 10 min's later, new faucet was leaking. they came back to fix the leak. 2 hrs after the "fix", faucet was leaking again. mustang balked about coming out again to fix the leak, arguing that the cause of the leak is a bad faucet. i had my doubts about that, so i called another service instead (austin area plumbing). these guys *did* fix the leak, saying that the original installation was pathetic. faucet has not leaked one drop since austin area fixed it.
will never call mustang plumbing.
Mustang Plumbing was the installer for our homebuilder so we didn't have a choice. Installation of our water heater had kinked copper piping which resulted in corrosion and a leak springing from the kinked piece of the pipe. Also, the pipe closest to the wall was poorly soldered and another leak/drip developed there. Of course the damage only became clear after the warranty expired, but the shoddy work caused the damage. Basic plumbing info emphasizes care when working with copper piping and also how to properly solder pipes. Whoever represented Mustang Plumbing for the installation at these new homes should've been more knowledgeable or better-supervised.
they gave us two different prices, came out and doubled the price. Don't go to Mustang Plumbing!!!! They have their own form of bait and switch!!! And they put the original water tanks in my home!!!
