Whitney O.Their pricing is astronomical in comparison to other plumbers. They wanted to charge me a grand for stuff that should have been included in the original amount on top of whatever they got from the home warranty company (which I assume would have been around $800)... so essentially they were getting paid double the amount for a simple job. I found another company who would do the job, including all parts and upgrades, for around $1000. I took a cash-out from my home warranty company and wound up with about $500 out of pocket. The other company performed the job the next day and did absolutely superb work. I am so glad took a cash out from my home warranty company instead of giving money to this company who clearly are out to take advantage of people. They told me that certain parts were not up to code when they were, and the receptionist was not very professional or courteous. Get a second opinion before paying exorbitant prices, and do not blindly trust them to be honest.
Sent out by AHS.
Hired to fix a running toilet and leaking shower head.
This was the most unprofessional and incompetent service I have ever received from any company in my life.
They caused more damage than they fixed and my toilet and shower are still broken.
Technician arrived with an open and bleeding cut on his head.
Broke my shower handle which was not broken before.
Replaced the parts in a Toto toilet with generic parts and now the toilet no longer functions as before. Was told I'm not entitled to those parts.
Technician drove all over my lawn for no reason as I have a circular driveway.
Technician could not find his way out of my townhouse 3 times.
Broke the wooden panel covering the watermain
Owner hung up on me.
He is the rudest most obnoxious man I have ever encountered. He lacks all professionalism and empathy.
Hate the way the should up and take the mask off when the already inside my house also sit at my dinner room and sneezing on my table ...also they don't fix anything because I have waranty .very unsatisfied.
Unfortunately American Home Shield referred me to this company who came and did not do a thorough diagnosis of the leak in my home. I have a new baby and child and am concerned about mold. The technician that came in did not use gloves and was very short and forceful as if he was in a rush during the job.....name: George! He pulled the toilet up and told me I needed an extender. My warranty DID not cover that part because they are a SCAM!!! I got a second opinion and the ceiling opened up and it is NOT THE TOILET....THE LEAK is from the SINK!! Got a second opinion and it's NOT THE TOILET!!! Do not use this company!!!! or American Home Shield. SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Katie S.Quite frankly I am appalled! We have had a home warranty through AHS for 14 years. On 9/20/2019 we placed a claim for a clogged tub which was assigned to Murray's Plumbing to resolve. The plumber arrived, snaked the tub and resolved the issue. On Monday 1/4/2021 we placed an identical claim with AHS which was again assigned to Murray's. They arrived on 1/6/21 and stated that there was no way to snake the tub because there was no access point. They did not attempt to snake the tub at all. AHS would not authorize them creating an access point. What is INFURIATING is that when we called Murray's and explained that they had done this exact work on 9/20/2019 they stated they had no records prior to 2020. Again, I am APPALLED. Same claim, same tub, same warranty..... completely different outcome = SHADY
This is the second time this company has been in my home. Both times an older gentlemen has shown up trying to rush in and rush right out. He does not listen to us. And he does not communicate well, as he just grumbles rather quickly. He was here most recently for a garbage disposal issue and two small leaks. He tried to leave without addressing the leaks saying he didn't see any leaks. I literally had to point out the active leak to him. He quickly replied that it was a crack in garbage disposal resulting from the jam we had. I told him the leak was preexisting but he filed his report with our home warranty company saying that our jam was the issue so now they won't cover the disposal. I called the office and was informed that he cannot take our word that the leak predated the jam. I get it. But if you can't prove it one way you shouldn't just chalk it up to another. With the amount of buildup around the crack, it's obvious that the leak predated the two day Jam we had that locked up our disposal. I will not use this company again. It's obvious that they are not sending their best but instead are sending their part time retirees to collect the home warranty check.
Murray's received a contract from American Home Shield Insurance for a water leak. After calling and going back and forward for 6 days for a water leak. The woman/receptionist who answered the phone was short, rude, impatient, and condescending. (I'm sure she is divorced/dumped several times with a possible midlife crisis) hung up on me because I couldn't be at home waiting for them for 9 hrs. I told her not to come to my house. 9 days later they came to my house and called me without and appointment. I told the woman that they can leave my house, I told American Home Shield that they were not very nice company. The woman spoke to my wife and lied to my wife so they can have their sheet signed as if they came and did their job. She told my wife that I cursed her out (liar) and lied some more after I told them to leave. Murray's needs a new and good receptionist that won't lie or be unpleasant. Plus they can be a little flexible with customers work hours.
If I could rate zero stars I would!
The technician was lazy and unprofessional. My warranty company assigned this company regarding stoppages in my basement and the technician left without addressing the stoppage in both places so he can get paid for a second visit.
BEWARE. This company is unprofessional, lazy and they lie. They only want to get paid from the warranty company to come assess the problem but not fix it. They lied to my warranty company and said my faucet was physically and forcefully damaged. Which was a lie, all because they didn't have the part to fix it, and was too lazy to come back out. After all they were already paid by the warranty company, so why come back a second time. I'm completely discussed with their customer service. I had another company come and take a look at it, and fixed the problem on site. It was a simple fix, a washer that needed to be replaced, and they had the part with them. They even went the extra mile to order me a new faucet head in case it leaked again in the future because they found out it was still under warranty. At no extra cost. Again this was another company that came to take a second look at it. That's what you call good customer service. Not Murray's trash company. Please reconsider if your warranty company recommends Murray's to you.
My hot water heater stopped working. The home warranty which I will be dropping soon assigned Murray's Plumbing & Heating. The technician came looked at my 5yr old Rheem water heater and wrote up a claim stating that I had flammable chemicals (laundry detergent, bleach, and car wash soap) in my laundry/utility room that cause the part to go bad. Cinch formally called HMS of course denied my repair. Its been 4 days without hot water because Murray's Plumbing & Heating intentionally have my claim denied, so they could charge a higher rate if I had went through them and not my home warranty.
Be very careful of companies and or technicians like these guy. The part that needed replacing cost about $30-60 depending on my model water heater. I am now back and forth with warranty company to find another company to come out to fix my hot water heater as I have already paid my $125 deductible. Here is a link i found online detailing cost of part.
