I'm new to the area in a new home. I called 2 other plumbing services before Murray because they were closer to home. I scheduled times, but neither showed up. I was not happy. I ended up calling Murray Plumbing, and the dispatcher scheduled me for the next morning.
Bruce, from Murray was right on time and immediately honed in on the problem and my issue was fixed within 30 mins. Very nice man, very professional. I would DEFINITELY use Murray Plumbing again!

Do not do business with this firm! Here's why: they were tasked with dealing with a water pipe leak between the house and the road and, while they did fix that, they managed to sever a main root of a big tree, and an electrical cable and didn't have the courtesy or professionalism to let us know about the live electrical wire that they cut- just walked away.
We opted to have our most trusted contractor fix the live wire which was old and needed fixing but we had contacted Murray Plumbing to let them know it was working fine until they dug up and cut and they agreed to pay half of the cost of repair. We paid full amount and then followed up with Murray to check on status of their check and were berated, yelled at and told that we signed a waiver and they are not paying half
The issue is not the money- these people are not to be trusted for their word and we would never ever recommend them to anybody! Shame on them!

I wouldn't even give them a 1 star , I had Chaz out to my house yesterday , he quoted me $400 to install new shower handles and shower head , which I had all the new components already , i then later Found out the office had a different quote in mind ( $576.00 ) without letting me know . I was told the job would take 3-4 hours to complete . I knew something didnt sound right and decided not to have Murray Plumbing do the work . I called Prunto Plumbing last night , they came out this morning installed my shower handles and new shower head in 45 mins , total cost $160 . DO NOT , I repeat , DO NOT EVER use Murray Plumbing , they scam you out of money and try to rip people off ... $155/hr is beyond ridiculous, I called around to 5-6 different plumbing companies and every single one of them just laughed at the hourly rate charges ... I paid $160 for labor and new parts that I needed , and Murray Plumbing wanted to charge me $576.00 PLUS parts ...

Very experienced, professional service. Had emergency water main/pipes broken/leaking. Barry Miller and Dwayne were very knowledgeable, as well owner Mr. Chris Miller. His wife Tina, who took my call to continue with the emergency was very efficient, and explained everything, including taking time to share with me what I did not know prior about home warranty coverage that would have covered this issue. The crew again shared with us and we learned a lot and they got the job done and stayed until it was done, and working correctly and cleaned up, etc. EXCELLENT service! Very appreciative of everyone! They made this stressful emergency situation very easy to deal with and knew their jobs well.

OK where to start Murray plumbing has no customer service they set an appointment up and never showed up never called and never replied to voicemails that we left them there are one of the worst plumbing companies I've ever had to deal with. I would not recommend them to anyone ever. The appointment was set up through American water for a water leak that we had on our line. They sent me a text for the appointment for specific time and never showed. So we called American water back to find out what was going on then they called Murray plumbing and said that they were running 15 minutes behind and that they would be here in the afternoon well they never showed then today I get another text saying that the appointment was canceled three days after they never showed

The owner of Murray's Plumbing hung up on me because I expressed that that I was not happy with their communication and perhaps they don't know what they're doing. After at least the 4th visit over the span of weeks, yesterday, I was told that the boss would have to look at the problem. I called and spoke with the joint owner who was not aware that her husband, the other owner ""boss"" was to contact me so she said she would check and call me back Ha, I knew that was a joke from a previous experience with them. I called the next day to ask for an update and when I expressed that the only thing that's been good so far with her company is that she answers the phone each time I call oh and the plumbers are nice. I also stated I felt like they didn't know what they were doing. That's when she advised she would call the insurance company and tell them I didn't want their services and hung up the phone. Wow, that's really good customer service! NOT!!!! SMH, onto the next plumber as water backs up in my home for weeks now.

Sorry, this is a bit long - We had water backing up through our basement drain so we called American Water as we have line insurance through them. They contracted Murray's to come out and fix our problem. We were told we'd receive a call from Murray's to confirm our appointment for the next day. We didn't. We did get an email saying they'd be out between 8AM and 10AM the next day. Not ideal as we could run no water without a backup in the basement, but my parents are close by so we had a way to shower, etc. for the day.

The next morning by 10:30 no one had arrived from Murray's or called. We called two different numbers for Murray's, one from the water company's info and one from their website, and in both cases got a voicemail. We left messages on both over the course of an hour but received no return calls. By now they are 1 1/2 hours late, so I called the water company and they tried to call Murray's. They also got voicemail on one number but managed to get someone at the other. They told the water co. they were running behind and would be here by 1 PM. Ok, so no big, it happens. But why no call to let us know they'd be late nor a return call to our messages?

So, 2:30 PM rolls around, and again no one has shown up and no one has called. Back to the water company. They call them and get someone on the line who says they are 15 minutes out. 2:45 they do indeed show up.

The guys were really nice and were in and out in no time with the problem resolved. We can now run water with nothing happening downstairs. All's cool there.

My issue is with the lack of courtesy from customer service. We should have gotten a call as soon as they knew they'd be late. Even more importantly, we should have gotten a return call to our messages with an apology for being late and info on when they would get here. We never should have had to call the water company to chase them down, especially not twice! I totally understand something taking longer than expected and can be pretty patient with service guys running late, but 5 hours is a bit crazy with not even a heads up call.

I wouldn't call Murray's in the future nor recommend them to anyone based solely on their customer service/management. If the water company were ever to want to send me Murray's again, I'll be telling them to choose someone else.

Sorry, I hate leaving bad reviews. I know little businesses try hard, but these guys aren't doing the basics. A phone call isn't too much to ask, whether to give a heads up or apologize for poor service. That's all it would have taken for me to just write it off as these guys having a bad day. It's too bad they weren't willing to make that little bit of effort.

This is a long story but please read till the end, well worth it. On Tuesday, we started having water back up in our basement shower and both toilets. We have water line and sewer line insurance through our water company, Pennsylvania American Water, so we called them and they sent out Murray Plumbing. The guys were nice and friendly. They were able to unclog us and got us flowing again. By Wednesday, we were having the same issues. Called PAW again and they sent the same company again. We were sent an email confirmation of MP's scheduled arrival to our home for Thursday from 1-5 pm. Both my husband I are essential workers and were still working, so my husband left work early and arrived home at 12:45 to find a receipt from MP saying they were there from 10:50 to 11:50 and flushed our outside lines and that we were not home so they could do nothing inside. Water was still backing up in the toilets and the basement shower any time we tried to use the bathroom, dishwasher, washing machine etc. We called MP and told them that their morning flushing had not worked. They said they would be back out that afternoon (Thursday). At 5:00 we got a call saying they could not come back until Friday. We do not have a working toilet and during this health crisis, we cannot go to our family's homes. We found this unacceptable and called PAW to explain what was happening. PAW forced MP to return on Thursday evening and continue to work on our problem. With no positive results on Thursday evening, they returned Friday morning with their high powered pressure flusher. Flushed all our lines inside and out and that appeared to work. Our toilets and showers worked until Saturday evening when we tried to use the dishwasher and the washing machine which caused the usual water back up. We again called PAW on Sunday morning and were told they would contact MP and have them come out yet again. We were told to call PAW back if MP had not contacted us within 4 hours. MP contacted us with 10 min left on their time limit to tell us they would not be coming until Monday sometime after 11:00. So we were without working toilets for over 36 hours. On Monday, MP came and told us we had a broken pipe under our yard at a vent pipe which needed to be dug up and replaced (which of course was not covered by the insurance). They got us flowing and said it should hold until we could get it fixed. Needless to say by Tuesday we were backing up again. The ""boss"" of MP was scheduled to come out on Tuesday to give us an estimate on the cost to dig up and replace the pipe. He was a no show, so we rescheduled with his office for him to come again on Wednesday and another no show.
So after a week of dealing with these so called professionals, we were at the same place we started a week ago. We called around and Wizzard Drain Cleaning was suggested to us. Brian from Wizzard came out Wednesday morning and put a camera down our pipes and found that nothing was broken or cracked under the yard. He was able to clean out some debris from the broken vent pipe that had fallen into the trap and we were flowing again. He was able to do in 2 hours what MP could not do in 4 different visits. MP also diagnosed a broken pipe without using a camera to visually inspect the pipes and they were ready to dig up our yard. Not sure if they are incompetent or crooked and trying to milk money from the insurance company. Either way we are done with them. We are also done with the insurance through PAW seeing the caliber of contractor they employ.

I reached out to Murray Plumbing for help replacing incoming lines and drain pipes in my upstairs bathroom. The price I got was fair and reasonable. The owner, Chris, gave me his honest opinion on the work that needed to be done and what was involved. I was impressed that even on a snowy day, and a few staff issues, they still showed up as scheduled and completed the work until it was done. They took care to do the job correctly and cleaned up professionally when the work was complete. I would recommend them and use them again.

I had a great experience with the owner and his wife. I live in Shipoke where we experience a lot of flooding as I live right on the river. I also live in an older house so a lot of my piping was old and worn down. I was getting my basement encapsulated and the company couldn't finish the project because we were experiencing backup problems with our sewer. We were on a tight time schedule so I called several plumbers and Murray's was able to come out immediately. They assessed the damage, were up front with what was causing the problem (backed up sewer line and invasive tree roots), and they were able to fit me into their schedule immediately without any hesitation. They also assessed the piping in my cellar and brought down the city inspector to ensure everything was up to code. I can tell you that I felt comfortable dealing with this company. I didn't have a feeling that they were trying to oversell or overcharge me for their services. I will say that you get what you pay for and I noticed the immediate difference when the work was done. I will always call Murray for my plumbing issues because the work speaks for itself.
