The first plumber told us our shower drain required at least a hydro power flush, or maybe even a trenching to replace damaged pipe.
I always get a second opinion when the recommended service is
high in price. I called Murphy & Sons Plumbing, who cleared the drain of a hair ball in about five minutes for a very reasonable fee.
While I was disappointed by the dishonest first plumber, I was delighted by the skill and honesty of Murphy & Sons. I will certainly call them in the future if I need plumbing repair!

Great family owned company!!! Called on a Friday 5:30pm they showed up 6:15. They were easy to work with, very organized, clean, friendly and honest!! Top notch crew.

Do yourself a favor and call someone else. We had a leaky toilet and called Murphy and Sons on a neighbor's recommendation. Joe on the phone was helpful, but he sent Kevin to us (son, nephew perhaps?). First day called 90 minutes past the appointment time and said he was stuck in traffic. We rescheduled. Next day was an hour late. He and another guy replaced 2 toilets and put a fan to dry out our wet area. Said he'd return on Friday to pick up the fan. Never came until a week later when I called him bag. Ugh, felt like I was dealing with an irresponsible teenager and I just hoped he knew what he was doing. Well, 95 days later (warranty is 90 days by the way), my toilet is leaking again. Called Joe's main line twice and left messages, never got a return call. Finally have a new plumber here now and he found the toilet was installed and sealed improperly. I'm extremely frustrated I wasted time and money with this company. At the very least, if you hire Joe, insist on him and do not allow Kevin anywhere near your home.

I wasn't sure if I had a leak as my water bills were running high. I called and spoke to Joe. I got an appointment right away. They were prompt and professional and knowledgeable. I appreciated Joe's honesty and although I do not need any repairs right now, I know I will not hesitate to call them should I need work done in the future!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I had a sink and the washing machine both backing up right before my daughters birthday party. I was thinking I would need two drains cleaned so double the price. Kyle looked at the layout of my house and determined there was most like one clog blocking both drains. He and Koby cleaned the drain within an hour and the party could go on. These guys helped my mom with her slab leak in Ladera Ranch. We called them on Tuesday evening explaining the problem of water coming up through the floor in the living room. They came our the next morning, rerouted some pipes through the walls behind the drywall, and were done in about 5 hours. Three Cheers for Joe Murphy and Son's Plumbing! As a veteran of slab leaks (I've had 4) I knew what I was in for when I came home to a very wet limestone floor with water percolating up from the molding. Tired of paying hundreds for leak detection, I found a company willing to give a free estimate - Joe Murphy. From the moment Joe picked up my phone call, his reassuring demeanor put me at ease. Joe and his nephew arrived in the morning, gave me an estimate for the leak, rerouted and replaced pipes, cleaned up and were out of my house shortly after lunchtime. I found them on Angie's List, where I was a visitor, looking for someone for an urgent repair of a shower faucet handle problem that made it necessary to turn off all the water.
Within fifteen minutes of arrival, the two plumbers had assessed and fixed the problem. The best thing was that they didn't take advantage of a naive person by claiming a major repair was necessary.
I really appreciate this, and recommend that you call Murphy for all your plumbing needs. I know I will!
