Take me, for instance: I was not even on the day's schedule. David and team arrived in a terrible thunderstorm to check out my water heater (I couldn't re-light the pilot myself after several attempts and had no idea why it went out in the first place).

In frustration, I called various local services, and to my dismay, received astronomical quotes for basic diagnosis. By the time I found David Murphy, I was feeling a bit desperate.

In the POURING RAIN, David added our case to his load and stopped by our home to assess the issue. Needless to say, what I couldn't do all day, David did in five minutes! Of course, he's the pro!

What I can't say enough about is his pleasant spirit. He was humble, kind and interested only in building trust during this initial visit. With deliberate, calming smiles and assurance they told us to keep an eye on the water heater and then they were gone in a ""poof.""

True ""angels"" in the midst of a storm. I concur with others in that I feel blessed, and I know I've found a gem. I will always consult Murphy Plumbing & Heating first and only. Trustworthiness personified!

We recently moved to the area from apartment living and Dave has been a godsend at a time when I very much miss my super! He has helped us on multiple occasions and always in a very timely manner. Yesterday, he stayed hours for what was supposed to be a quick one hour job just because he found some issues that he didn't even really have to alert me to but because he is very honest and dependable (and a perfectionist) he made sure the job was done perfectly.

David has been our plumber now for a while and from the minute he walked into our home I knew we were in the best of hands. Thorough, professional, able to think ""outside the box"" to solve problems, friendly and reasonably priced and always accessible is the way I'd describe David's work. He installed our master bath sink, was able to troubleshoot a broken pipe from our outside spigot to figure out it was leaking into our garage, and just did a simple repair of our hall toilet. I highly recommend Murphy Plumbing. David has done two projects for us so far and did a stellar job on both. After the success of the first job, when we had a leak spring overnight in a wall, we texted David. He was able to rearrange his schedule to come out first thing in the morning, which was wonderful. Each visit he's been extremely helpful with tips and advice. He's incredibly straightforward and honest. When he realized that we were located too far away for him to come to us (my fault for not noticing), he offered to help us over the phone. Who says that? One of the few really kind people out there. David was extremely responsive to my call, had me send him several pictures and diagnosed the issue right away. While he was here he took the time to introduce me to our house's plumbing (we are new home owners). In addition to fixing a leaky pipe under our kitchen sink he installed a new flap in one of our toilets to reduce an inconsistent leak. He offered a few insider tips about Kohler, who he says has the best customer service. He was a fountain of useful information, had an extremely fair price, and as the main ""fixer"" in our family, took the time to explain how certain systems work. He was professional, friendly, and will be my go to plumber when other issues arise. I couldn't be happier with his service.

Since we moved to Yorktown heights I've been disappointed with the number of service/repairmen that come in. I started to think there's no such thing as an honest, hard worker in the area. People have come and done the bare minimum and tried to rip us off. When we started to have issues with our sink again we had no choice and tried calling our last plumber who never responds to our calls and comes when he feels like it. When my husband decided to try Murphy Plumbing instead- it was the BEST decision. VERY friendly, helpful, honest and made sure everything worked out before leaving. David is someone we would certainly call again and MOST DEFINITELY would recommend to anyone.

David is absolutely outstanding - we had a minor issue with our water valve outside & a few questions related to the water pressure. He immediately tried to figure out over the phone if it was something easily fixable (which I appreciate because I am learning about homeownership / repair as we just moved up here a year ago) and was so patient with me as I attempted to explain what was going on. When he realized it was something that was a little out of my league, he came right over and fixed the problem & answered all my questions.
