Recommended Customer Reviews
Campsie G.We have used Municipal Backflow for years to comply with the Village of Glenview Ordinance to check our underground Sprinkler. It is needed to protect the environment. They come out every year and file the paperwork with the Village. They do it for a lower cost than other companies. We highly recommend Municipal Backflow
Sharon E.They keep me updated by email on timing. Came the day they planned on. Testing process was done efficiently ~ didn't step on my peonies:) Got the paperwork and emailed the invoice and advised the city that I passed. I highly recommend them!
These folks are THE BEST! Not only is their Customer Service top notch, but the their prices are the best AND...the gentleman who tested the valve, (George?), was polite, respectful, knowledgeable and professional. I'm very glad I made this decision and will choose them for next year.
Thank you Municipal Backflow!
Fred G.We use Municipal Backflow every year to test our backflow prevention device. They are always so efficient with their scheduling process, and they always show up right on top and get the job done quickly. We look forward to working with Municipal Backflow for a long time to come!
Annual back flow testing for my irrigation system came due. Municipal Backflow contacted me earlier this year to schedule the test, and will file the results with the village for me. Test and notification of results to the village are included in the fee, which by comparison is much lower than other providers. I'm very satisfied with their service.
They came out and did a quick ""service"" for $65 certifying our pipes, then left it leaking. When we sent a video showing how bad it was, they told us it was OUR fault, there was a stand pipe installed by an ""unlicensed plumber"" and it would be a ""not so quick"" repair to the tune of $2,000. Are you kidding me? IF you saw this ""stand pipe"", why not tell us before you left? We have the original plumber coming back to fix this.
John at Municipal Backflow was professional and wonderful in fixing my pipe issues. Good service and value for the money.
Like the previous two customers I am appalled and in shock at how rude Amy is at this company. She literally screamed at me for not being accommodating to the technicians schedule. I received an email ten minutes before he was supposed to show up saying we are giving you a new time frame. Instead of working with me she kept saying how lucky I am that I received an email about him being 2 hours late. When I called she said to me"" it's not my fault you don't read instructions and you can f$&&'n find another company. I am literally in shock at how rude she is. I explained that I have a meeting And she said too bad"" I'm sorry but we can't help you. I am beyond shocked at the service of this company and come to find out they are not accredited on bbb. No wonder the previous two people on here had complaints also. I have never ever been treated like this in my life by a business.
Perhaps it's the office staff that is so defensive and rude. With only 1 employee, we're probably talking about a non-fireable female family member. Like a previous rater, Gerry H, who was berated by the phone answerer, I received a WRITTEN accusation that I was too demanding to bother with when I commented that I was surprised that a quoted ""problem"" had not been fixed immediately since I had (notice past tense) an annual service with them and that it should be scheduled right away. How many companies say ""Please find another company to do the repair. We are not longer interested in doing business with you. Your comments are uncalled for.""
My comments: ""didn't know it hadn't been done... thought it was scheduled for August 4...now it's too late to get approval to enter the building from me since someone else is living there. Now we have to jump through more hoops....should have been communicated better. Luckily I didn't pay the bill before learning the work hadn;t been done....SO WHEN CAN IT BE ACCOMPLISHED?"" Telling this woman to get it done was apparently too much stress for her, which lost her one-man-shop employer money!
This company needs some serious customer service training; they're giving Island Lake a bad name. A competitor even re-examined the backflow system and did NOT find a ""needed repair"" but only an adjustment that cost a lot less than Municipal Backflow wanted to charge. Be cautious of any long term contracts with Municipal Backflow: I expect this company will be out of business before reaching retirement age. Sometimes it's not best to have one's wife answer the phone. :-/
Gerry H.Me: ""Hi, is there anyway to narrow down the 9 hour service window that you've provided?""
The Lady at Municipal Backflow: "" Sir, this is our busy season!""
Me: "" I get it. I'm pretty busy too.""
The Lady at Municipal Backflow: ""Sir, I don't appreciate your attitude!""
Me: ""Can I get a phone call 1 hour prior to the technician showing up at my house? I will have to leave work.""
The Lady at Municipal Backflow: ""Sir, I don't do the testing myself, but I can make that request. Of course I can't offer any guarantee that the technician will call you.""
Me: ""Wow, you're too helpful.""
The Lady at Municipal Backflow: ""Sir, I don't appreciate your attitude!""
Me: ""FU then.""
When a firm that provides a commodity service (and has too many competitors in the area to count) acts as if it's doing you a favor by taking you money to perform a task that a trained monkey could adequately complete, run to one of its competitors.
That is all.
