Showed up for a warranty call. Tried to charge extra for not covered items. Admitted they only get a small fee from the warranty company, and they make up the difference by overcharging for items not covered by the warranty.
5/4/23 On Sunday, My water heater leaked all over my floor and my home warranty co. set me up with Mundin Plumbing who couldn't come out to diagnose the problem until the following Thursday between 10 and 2. At 1:45 they hadn't called or showed up, I called and left a message. No call back. At 2:15 I called again and the woman answering the phone said the service technician that was assigned to my call had run into problems and she was going to reassign it to a different technician and would call me back in a minute. An hour later I hadn't heard back and called again and this time she said she was not able to get anyone else to my house. I told her I was getting ready to go out of town and asked if they could get someone there the first thing friday AM and she said no and that she could cancel the service call. I told her no, doing that meant that I would go back into the que and have to wait another week to get someone out. I asked her who the owner of the company was and she put me on hold. 10 minutes later with no response I finally hung up to find an email from the warranty company that my service call was cancelled, and when I called Cinch Home Services he told me that Mundin Plumbing said they had called me and I didn't answer so they cancelled the service call. That was an outright lie as I called them 4 times, they never once called me. I realize that Warranty Co's use vendors that have low ball pricing but this company gives low ball service. It was one of the worst service situations I have ever had. Who ever the woman in their office is should be fired as she does not provide the customers any level of service, and warranty co's should be warned that they do not represent their company well at all.
We had some warranty work to be done on out toilet bowl. We were able to make reservation on line for the next day, and the chap came by as promised made the fixes and was done. Very pleased
Sherron C.We have used Mundin twice now and we're very impressed both times. The first time they came out to repair a leak and the second time to repair our hot water heater. Each time they were on time, professional and knowledgeable. We will continue to use Mudlin for all of our plumbing needs.
Complete scam artists this company cannot be trusted. I paid for 3/4 inch piping in 4 bathrooms for 2 weeks I have been in the middle of an $18000.00 job with mundin plumbing I paid 9000.00 upfront I paid to Mundin and have been in constant communication with Dan the manager have been lied to for 5 days. No one shows up, when they do show up they work for an hour have been waiting around for plumbers to show up and no one shows up. When I speak to Dan he tells me a deadline that ends up being false. I called to speak to the owner today never got a call back, I have been nice, patient understand but I am losing my other sub contractors due to mundin delays and lack of communication. It's a terrible way to treat someone.
I am cancelling services with mundin and would never want anyone to deal with such a terrible experience. Nothing has been done base on what is on quote and is trully unfair to be on a deadline and only ask for communication and get nothing
They overcharged almost $400 to perform an ""overall"" service on a tankless water heater ($1,200 for a new unit) while doing troubleshooting. Obviously the service they did didn't fix the problem. We did not have hot water for 2 days after getting stood up by them. We were waiting the whole day for them, but did not come and next day was like ""We had another emergency ceall and could not come"". Then the second visit still didn't fix the problem and they said they had to order some parts. When I talked to the manufacturer technician, they said the ignitor part rarely goes out and usually lasts for more than 10 years. Be careful with this contractor especially if you need them to repair your tankless water heater. I don't think they have good knowledge on tankless water heater.
Patrick M.I had a major crack in our main drain line that runs from the second floor of our house down through our crawl space, and I contacted Mundin Plumbing to assess the problem and provide an estimate. The quote seemed high at first, but Tom did an excellent job at walking me through the extensive work that needed to be done. Tom and Marcus came back to do the work and discovered even more issues under our crawl space. I agreed to replace nearly all of our cast iron pipes for an additional cost, again because Tom was clear in explaining why the work (and cost) was necessary. Both Tom and Marcus were extremely professional, knowledgeable and all around nice guys! They worked nonstop from 8:30am to 8:30pm so that they could finish same day and we could start to use the water again. They provided pictures of the work done in the crawl space so I didn't have to go under and validate myself. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend Mundin for large plumbing jobs and will specifically request Tom for any future plumbing needs.
Tom T.Mundin Plumbing - replaced a water pressure tank and pressure valve at the end of Oct. FOUR more visits due to leaks in the equipment they installed! Today - the FIFTH visit - they charged $75! Nothing was fixed or replaced - they blamed me for adding air pressure to the water pressure tank (I wouldnt even know how to do that)! They offered to sit and wait for the problem to reoccur (just as it did last week) for $150/hour.
I do not recommend Mundin Plumbing - they do not stand behind their work. They didn't do the work right the first time, over charged me, then they don't stand behind their work. I am reporting them to the BBB!
On 7/11/19 I contacted my warranty company to request service for my jet well pump because it was turning on and off repeatedly and making a lot of noise. In order to prevent a further problem from developing, I decided to get it taken care of. The warranty company had Mundin Plumbing reach out to schedule an appointment and they came out for their first visit on 7/12/19. The first technician and his trainee looked at the pump and diagnosed that the issue could be caused by the pressure switch malfunctioning on the side. So they got the parts and replaced the pressure switch. Then the problem was still occurring, so they determined that the entire pump needed to be replaced. So they went out and got the replacement and took all day to install it. In the meantime we did not have running water, but we were okay with this as we thought our issue would be resolved. After finishing the installment, they found out that the same problem was still occurring and finally decided that the issue was actually with the location of the filter and that it needed to be removed in order to fix the problem. After they took out the filter, the problem where the pump was shutting on and off was now resolved. After this, they left us with the instructions to not run the pump any longer than an hour because it could cause the pump to burn out.
We made sure to follow their instructions and spaced out our showers and any water usage so that we wouldn't overwork the new pump (though previously we never had been instructed of this and we consumed water as we needed and I had even washed the car the week before this while the old pump was making a lot of noise and the OLD pump never stopped working). Later the same evening the pump stopped pulling water even though we were following their guidelines strictly and I even made sure to turn the pump off so that it wouldn't get any more hot after it stopped pulling water.
Since it was now the weekend, I had to wait until Monday to call them back out. So we went the whole weekend without running water. Monday I called and they sent a new technician out. The new technician said that the new pump was defective and that it needs to be replaced again. So he went out and got another replacement pump.
After installing the new pump, he noticed a leak in the side of the pump. He told me that the warehouse was now closed and that he would have to come back the following day to fix the leak. He also repiped the old piping surrounding the pump because there was no need for the filter housing since they removed it.
He came back the next day and then determined that the leak was not repairable using the parts, so he had to AGAIN replace the entire pump. By this time, again, the warehouse was closed so we had to wait ANOTHER day to have running water.
The following day the original technician came back out to finish the second guy's work. This time he replaced the whole pump and then found a NEW LEAK in the NEW PIPING that 2nd guy did! So after first trying to charge me $400 to fix the leak that they caused, they then talked it over and decided to do it free of charge (how courteous).
After all of this was finally taken care of, they told me that I SHOULD be good to go and that if I have any more problems I need to let them know because there may be a problem with the manufacturer that mass produces these parts.
A few days go by and were closely watching our water consumption (making sure not to go over 30 minutes at time because we just really want a working pump and RUNNING WATER). Then the new pump stops pulling water as well. I turn the pump off (as I'm used to how this works now) and I wait until the next business day to call Mundin again. They tell me that it'll be no problem to send someone out, they just need me to contact my warranty company again to reopen the service order. So I call the warranty company, get that done, and then set up an appointment for 7/25/19 with an appointment window of 3PM-7PM. I waited all night and no one bothered to come and/or call me to let me know that they aren't coming (this had already happened once, so I figured that I would give them through the next morning to come out). The next day they still didn't come so I called Mundin.
Sarah told me that the warranty company had cancelled the service order by mistake and that I'd have to call them back to reopen the ticket. So I called the warranty company and, funny enough, they have a note from Sarah saying that she told them that the technician refused to come back out and fix the pump again because we were ""burning out the pump"" ourselves.
So with this new information I Mundin back. This time I get Morgen on the phone. I explain to her everything that I just went over. I told her that Sarah told me that the warranty company cancelled the service order which was a lie because they told me that the technician refused to come out. After talking with Morgen, she starts giving me an attitude and getting
Poor customer service: said they would call back and never would; said they would arrive at a certain time and then wouldn't arrive until hours later; and technician made inappropriate jokes. Now a year after the work they did to replace my main water line, I have no running water in my home and discovered that they put pex pipe underground, which is not sustainable for underground piping. The line has therefore been compromised under the rock and soil they placed on top and I have a major leak. I have to have my water line replaced all over again. Perhaps others have had a good experience with Mundin but I cannot in good faith recommend them given my poor experience and what I am now dealing with after their unprofessional decision making about the pipe use for the job.
