Dorene O.They were supposed to come out and give an estimate for some indoor painting work in our home and confirmed the evening before. An hour later I received a text canceling because they said they were hired for a bigger, better commercial job. Their website says ""There is no job too small,"" but clearly that is false advertising, because they have no problem dumping me at the last minute for a bigger job. Very unprofessional. Would not hire.
Since writing my review I have read the others about this company--glad I dodged a bullet!
Garbage company, lazy employees, inept boss, and a complete and utter waste of time. Kevin is a scammer who will demand money upfront and will not do the job he was paid for. He will dangle you for weeks and months on end, sometimes will outright ignore you. I do have to wonder if there is some criminal aspect going on with this company. Sad and pathetic.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
Dave B.Excellent Service -Workmanship. Had Wooden Porch Upgraded.. Very good experience.
Laurie P.I had some issues with my bathroom exhaust fans. I called and spoke with Kevin, he sent someone to my house the next day. I needed a new fan and Kevin called me to set up, told me everything I needed to get and even offered to pick up from Home Depot. Someone came back out, the next day to install. He was prompt, polite and got the job done.
Lena L.DO NOT USE THIS ""One man Show"" if it is a big project!!! Don't say you weren't warned! Unless it is a quick easy job that takes a day or two...Don't call this company. But, if you want things done half ass...then, Kevin is your guy! What a shame really, I had water damage of 700 sq feet and needed a contractor to rebuild the area. Kevin gave me a bid in the spring and told me it would be done in about 6 weeks. WELL, 22 weeks later he finally finished!. The ceiling looks like I did it myself, my toilet is wobbly, the paint job was not great and the whole job was done with only one guy, Mark. He told me from the start that he had a large team of men to finish the job and it will be done in 6 weeks. I made a mistake not having him put in writing that he would pay for each night of the hotel I was paying for, if it wasn't done on time. So yes, he is a one man show and all the others are sub contractors who did a great job with my flooring, plumbing and electrical work. Not only does the owner, Kevin, not call you back but at one point he went a whole week without calling me back or responding to my text and pretty much ghosted me until I got a hold of his co-worker and asked what is going on. When I didn't hear from him, (halfway through the job) I went to the web to read google reviews people were writing during the 6 months he was working on my home and all these reviews were saying how grateful they were for the quick job he did for them... AT THE TIME HE SHOULD HAVE HAD A CONTRACTOR AT MY HOUSE...but NO, he left me hanging and took on all kinds of other jobs instead, while he had ONE employee work only 20 hrs a week on my property and the other half on other jobs instead of finishing my home, as he promised. I wish I would have read all the YELP (True) reviews to see that EVERYONE said the same thing about how ""not to use this company."" Mark also did my backsplash and obviously that was his first time putting in backsplash or he would not have made the mistake of cutting the pieces incorrectly around the outlets. He did not leave room to pull out the outlets from the the wall to be able to put the covers back on. I called Kevin many times to have him repair the toilet that is already wobbling and to finish the cutting of the backsplash around the outlet and I have not heard back yet, of course. So basically, I will never get a call back from Kevin to finish his work and make the repairs needed. He is by far, the most unprofessional, rude contractor/owner that I ever met and I would Never do business with him again or refer anyone to this guy.
On Oct 19, they had me agree to a quote from them for drywall ceiling installation for the date of 11/1 - 11/5. On Oct 29, they followed up by saying they can only install on the week of November 8. For the last 4 days (Nov 7, 8, 9, 10), I have been calling them and sending them messages with no response on when they will show up. They finally responded to me today (Nov 11) saying that they have to delay to another week and when I said that's not acceptable, they simply cancelled.
Awful service, non-responsiveness and full of lies.
DO NOT use this handyman - Very Poor Communicator.
Quoted the job after a few days. I think only by the photos I sent him prior. So he never actually came out.
Charged me $125 - and its listed on the contract as a deposit.
Gave me an initial estimate of September for install
I sent a message in August to make sure he was still running on time.
He responded stating I didnt pay - to which I reminded him the date and time I paid him. And he said he'd have to check.
He has since ignored all my texts - emails and phone calls for the last 5 weeks.
After my 4th text and call to try to get in contact I sent a 5th message asking him to contact me or I would call the BBB and leave bad reviews.
There was no response - so I reported him to the BBB - and what do you know.... he finally reached out stating he would refund my money. But then continued to call me dishonest - a scammer - he stated he'd report me to the BBB. and made snide comments through the rest of the refund process.
He is also reporting ME to the BBB - sighting slander.
Then he finished stated he tattled on me to my husband. Look guy - if you had just responded some time over the last 5 weeks - and just stated you couldnt do the job - that would have saved every one alot of time. And maybe I wouldnt have demanded a refund - because then you would have been professional enough. I could have in 5 weeks - potentially gotten the work done by another.
Again - not good at communicating - doesn't deliver - poor experience.
Got in contact with Kevin to do some painting and general handyman work. He scheduled a day to come to house and completely flaked. We called and texted him but got no response. Do not take time off work to be home to meet with him as you will be stood up and waste a precious day off work.
My husband and I were in need of our back exterior door and storm door needing to be replaced urgently. A majority of our house had flooded due to the amount of rain water that entered in through our current back door. We came across Kevin and his business page, Multi Lakes Handyman Servives. We called and spoke to Kevin and he said this was a job he could do. He asked us to measure our door and send him the measurements. We measured 30.5 and also sent him a picture of the tape measure against our old door. We agreed to do the job Sunday at 9am, he showed up at 10am after we contacted him to follow up on where he was. Kevin and his worker started to tear out the old doors, before double checking that the new door was the correct size. The new door that they brought to install was in fact the wrong size. Our door was a 32inch door and they brought a 30inche door. They were going to try and install the 30inch door until confronted about it. When confronted they tried to blame me and say I sent them the wrong measurements. Upon tape measure inspection between my husband, Kevin, and his worker, it was confirmed they did indeed bring the wrong size door (yet they were going to install the small door had my husband not said something). They placed the blame after that from me measuring wrong to the lowes worker giving them the wrong door. At this point we have no door on the rear of our house. Once they got the correct door they put it in place and realized that one side of the door frame needed a 1x6 to fill the gap between the door frame and brick. So they put a 1x6x72 board to fill the 80inch door frame to brick gap and called it good, left 8inches of gap between the door frame and brick. Then comes the storm door install. The trim was to wide so they had to rip the trim down. They asked to borrow my husband's table saw the rip the trim down. Well that wasn't working well for them so they then moved to a jig saw to try and rip a 80inch long piece of trim straight. Let's just say a circle has straighter lines than what they cut. The first time they tried to install the Strom door they screwed the door into the trim that was only held on to the door frame with finish nails. My husband asked them to not door that and install the storm door on to the door frame itself. That part they did do and showed my husband why that doesn't work. Upon conversation about what to do with the storm door and trim my husband and Kevin agreed to start over with new trim and pre drill holes to screw the trim to the door frame and then screw the storm door to the trim. Well during the redo the new trim again had to be ripped to the correct width. Instead of going to the store and just buying the correct width trim (which my husband told them we didn't care about the cost, let's just get the correct/new trim from the store and we will pay whatever it cost) they again ripped the trim with the jig saw. Finally after hours of listening to Kevin on the phone arguing with someone and his worker complaining and blaming this and that, they were done with the install. All that was left now was for them to seal the door with foam/caulk. Well they sprayed some foam and called it good. They did not caulk and left it to use to trim the spray foam. At this point my husband and I'll had to go to lowes and spend more money for foam and caulk. The bottom corner of each side of the door frame where in meets the actual floor had outside light coming in. If outside light can come in so can rain. The bottom of the door frame to bottom door seal had light gaps at one end and not the other. My husband and I had to shim the bottom of the frame till it sealed with the bottom of the door. We then had to spray foam the two gaps on the bottom and the 8inches of missing board I mention early. After that we had to then caulk the inside and outside of the door and the bottom two corners. Upon finishing the job his worker made sexist comments about me. In the end we had to finish the job ourselves and they left all the trash everywhere. Guess what the door still leaks water
Contacted him about a small job needed to be done. I was told he was able to do it for me and would call back later for a confirmation. I never heard back and when I called the next day He answered it said he was on the phone with another call and would call me back in five minutes. A few hours later I never heard back from him so when I called he answered and hung up on me. I would not waste your time and continue to look for other handyman
