Recommended Customer Reviews
We had Jerry do the plumbing in our 2 new bathrooms, redo an outside facet, put in a garbage disposal and a new valve in our downstairs toilet. Jerry is prompt and does excellent work. I would recommend him highly.
Sam N.Jerry, what a great and honest guy. Called to set an appointment for some plumbing issues I am facing in my new house. He asked few questions via phone and told me how I can eliminate the bad odor that was coming from the sewer without he coming over. I did what he asked me to do and the smell was gone.
Tyler M.I had a plumbing issue three years ago or so and called a well advertised plumber who, upon inspecting our home, suggested we'd need to spend $10,000. A friend referred me to Jerry who came over and addressed everything for $412. Yes....$412. I have since had him update a couple of systems. He is responsive, professional, personable and affordable. I would not hesitate recommending him, and indeed, I do, often.
Our first experience with Jerry was very positive and based on that I asked him to bid plumbing work on our kitchen remodel. I sought out no other bids
Based on his bid, I expected him to spend a good part of the day on site. I was surprised to see him only at my home for a little over three hours. His rate, based on that, was something over $200 per hour.
He failed to provide a part of the plumbing that was discussed and documented in email and he then charged me extra for one part ""providing the labor for free"".
Last, he's left my plumbing incomplete,. informing me that I can go out and buy tools, valves and etc. to complete the work. The thing that most annoys me about that is that some of this work was discussed in detail so that I could direct a mason to provide space for a valve. He described the size of what ""he would install"", then he simply installed nothing leaving me on the hook.
In no honesty could he deny that he'd committed to doing this work. Yet that's what he's done.
Jerry first tried to move the date of the job to extend his long weekend (Labor Day) which would have put us off schedule. We had agreed on that date roughly a month prior. I can only guess that petty retribution was why we were treated so poorly.
I'll not use Jerry again.
Frank B.Mr Simmons is the pipe master of West Seattle and quality plumbing is his game. I've had Mr Simmons install a sink & new faucets project for FRANK and he does exceptional work. Have no fear in hiring this plumbing out fit. Mr Simmons will lay his pipe the correct way.
Brian F.I called Jerry when I needed my hot water heater replaced. He was able to come over the next day. Not only did he provide an estimate in line with what other were able to give over the phone, he did the work the same day. On top of the worked promised in the quote, repaired some shoddy work done by the orginial builders. I felt like Jerry was a partner rather than someone trying to cheat me out of money.
WOW! Our kitchen faucet exploded a week ago. The new one finally arrived, so I called Mr. Simmons. He showed up 30 minutes after I called him, and had my kitchen faucet re-installed in 20 minutes! Great guy, very professional, I will use him for all my plumbing needs here in West Seattle. Thanks Mr. Simmons!
P V.Plumbing is something that you don't tend to think much about, but when something goes wrong, it's a huge pain. I had my water heater fail after 11 years on the job and was not prepared for its demise. The final act of rebellion, sending water all over my basement was not a treat either or a fun way to spend a Sunday evening.
Monday, time to start figuring out what to do about getting this problem fixed. Using yelp as my guide, called 3-4 guys with good reviews. The incumbent, gave me a cost over the phone, one had a broken truck and gave me the name of some other outfit, and one offered to send someone out on Tuesday to assess the situation (and charge me ~$100).
I remembered that the ex had a plumber come here when we moved in to do a couple of minor things. I didn't deal with him at all beyond paying the bill. I decided to call and see if I could get my hot water back quicker than the offerings from my other calls.
I gave Mr Simmons a call and was referred to his mobile number and left a message there. Called back within 30 minutes and he said he could come over in ~30 minutes and we could discuss the job. He was right on time, we talked about different replacement ideas for a good while (I was considering changing from electric to gas and maybe tankless). Jerry gave me a lot to think about, but ultimately, swapping and moving to a better location in my basement just didn't fit my budget. I decided to just go with replacement of what had failed. Jerry called within an hour and gave me a cost which seemed fair for the task, the expertise, and meeting requirements that the prior install had not.
Arrived on time and finished everything up with no trouble. I have hot water back, along with some things I didn't before: earthquake straps, foam insulation and tray under the tank, along with overflows out of my living area. A future failure will not flood my basement. I wish the incumbent installer had cared as much about doing things right as Jerry does.
Jerry is a knowledgeable straight shooter who is fun to work with. I like be able to support a quality West Seattle business when ever I have the need. When they add honesty, timeliness, and fair pricing, it's even better.
Daniel H.I was referred to Jerry to repipe my old galvanized pipes. He came and did a very thorough walk through specifying options and implications. He also recommended that we replace the water line to the street as the old line would clog up my new tankless water heater.
When Jerry was onsite to do the work, he was all business. He came promptly each day and ended up working well into the evening to keep to his schedule. We were living in the house so he had to reconnect the water each night before he left.
During the work, I made several changes to our original plan and Jerry was able to adapt and work with me. In all cases, he made recommendations to do it right (e.g., attaching the water line to solid structure.
It was important to me to have a plumber that's flexible and also thinks of how the space will finish out. Jerry minimized damage to finished surfaces (virtually none) and planned the runs so that it would save space in the basement.
I'm calling him back when we redo the bathroom.
Will A.Don't call the BIG plumbing outfitts that charge $200 just to show up! Jerry has helped me out several times, and always offers honest advice, fair prices, and friendly quality service. Support your local West Seattle plumber!
