Make no mistake... They are there to price gauge and collect 100% on the spot. $1,100 to install a bathroom faucet. They are a shady and dishonest company and then have the never to talk to US like we're crooks if we don't have every penny of their grossly inflated bill.

This company came to me through the toilet installation service at Home Depot in Wilbraham MA. The guys who came to my house were in and out in no time and at first I thought they did an OK job, I paid them the $259 they charged me and I thought that I was all set.

A few months later when I decided to sell my home, during the home inspection I learned that water was leaking under the linoleum. I came to find out that they did a lousy job installing my toilet! It was not even secured properly, which lead to water seepage (one of the bolts was free standing !!). Also they should have brought to my attention that a new flange was needed for the job to be done right as the one there was old and needed a replacement.

I went to Home Depot to place a complaint. I was put on the phone with a manager from Mr. Rooter. I expected an apology - It didn't come! He was plain rude on the phone and made me feel intimidated. Don't hire this company! They do a half fast job and their customer service is deplorable.

Would give 0 stars if I could. Needed a plumber for shower parts installed. They were suppose to be here for 11:30 and received a call that they were in the area at another location and would be there shortly. Didn't receive another call and they never showed up. Absolutely awful experience.

Mr. Rooter Plumbing/aka Worcester Gold - a franchisee of The Dwyer Group. Despite a court issued judgment issued against Mr. Rooter aka Worcester Gold Corp for almost $10,000.00 for the deliberate and intentional installation of faulty equipment and services at my home, The Dwyer Group, a multimillion dollar corporation and the owner of the Mr. Rooter franchise refuses to satisfy the judgment issued against the franchisee Mr. Rooter Plumbing. While The Dwyer Group publishes and advertises its ""corporate values"", as a result of personal experience, the statements are merely rhetoric intended to dupe its customers. Under no circumstances should any individual or company do business with Mr. Rooter or any company affiliated with the Dwyer Corporation. I rate Mr. Rooter and the Dwyer Group one star only because there is not a ""no star"" option.

Be careful before you call these people. My 90 year old mother had frozen pipes. They charged $440 to thaw the pipes under her mobile home. They did nothing else. I had little to no experience so I wasn't aware what a rip-off this was until I had to call my plumber for the exact same reason (reputable family business) and they charged $140!

My basement recently flooded due to the water heater leaking. I called Mr. Rooter and they scheduled me in the same day i purchased the water heater. They came out on time were VERY profession and courteous. Respected my home and their prices were very reasonable. Would HIGHLY recommend them to anybody and will DEFINITELY call them again!!

Contracted this joke of a company through Home Depot. Trying to get something scheduled was an absolute disaster. The woman handling their phones/scheduling needs to get a clue and learn how a conversation works. Lots of awkward silence...yeah.

Anyway, the contractor that showed up 2 hrs early quoted us $450 to install a shower door and then proceeded to insult me over the phone while standing in MY HOUSE when I questioned the price point.

Had a long talk with Home Depot's Corporate Customer Care dept and directed them to this link. Hopefully they get dumped as a vendor.

Mr Electric - Gold Street Wocester. The service call/work received Dec 2012 was overpriced. The technician gave a hard sell for their 5 year membership ($150) with 15 % discount for current service. He said I would get membership card in a few weeks. However, I never received membership card.

During the 6+ months I called several times to request refund, as didn't want discount for their overpriced services. Each time I called they told me I would get a refund.

Unfortunately they never processed my request. Each time I spoke with them they claimed they didn't have record of my prior calls/dissatisfaction. They told me they would process my request, but NO action.

Needless to say I am disappointed by their customer service and dishonesty.

On January 23rd our furnace went dead during the single digit weather conditions. At 5:30pm we called our oil supplier who put us in contact with their service dispatcher. 4 hours later, the Mr. Rooter van pulled in front of our house. We met Bill the tech at the door and showed him to our furnace in the basement. After 15 minutes Bill came upstairs with the diagnosis; we needed a new oil pump, coupling and oil cad eye control.

My next obvious question was how much? He stares me blankly in the face and states $888.60. Now I know he has me over a barrel because I need my heat back on. After a few choice words, I give him the green light thinking maybe these parts are expensive - NOT! The coupling is nothing more than a tubular piece of plastic with inner diameter notches - which he stated is worth $50.00. I got the p/ns of the other two while he was installing them and looked them up online. The Suntec Single Stage Oil Pump (A2VA-3006) could be purchased new from a site for $73.45. The Honeywell cad eye (130367) could be purchased new on Amazon for $8.99. I can guess the coupling probably goes for no more than $5.00. So for $87.44 worth of parts, Mr. Rooter collects $801.16 for an after hours labor/service call. After a couple more rants from me, he relented and had the audacity to lower the total to $680.00 to which I agreed knowing I was still getting royally screwed for a job that shouldn't have gone for more than $300-350.00.

In conclusion, this type of blackmailing should be against the law and I am still considering contacting the MA Attorney General's Office. This review should put Mr. Rooter on notice that they may not be able to continue their shady business practices much longer.
