I had Mr. Rooter and Plumbing come out because I had a really bad sewer blockage. First I paid them to do an evaluation and then had to call someone else to have my septic tank emptied. Then I had them come back to use a snake and paid them again. They said the only access was downstairs in my basement. When he took the cap off the pipe, waste exploded all over my basement floor and wall. He snaked it for a while and it wasn't working. He came back the next day in the daylight and tried the snake again and still could not get it to unclog. So he said there isn't anything else he can do. He gave me a quote of $ 6,500 to have them come back out and dig a hole in the yard and find the cause of the sewer blockage. I told him I can't afford that and he said I'm welcome to get a 2nd opinion. Not only did he leave ALL the feces and everything else that came out of the pipe, but he didn't clean it up at all. He said ""sorry about the mess"" and left. I spent an 1 1/2 each day that he was there cleaning up the mess in my basement.
The next day I had a local guy come over and he used a industrial snake instead of the small one that Mr. Rooter used. He used a camera and found out that there was a tree root causing it to be blocked. He cleared up the clog for a very fair price. I would NEVER use Mr. Rooter for anything in the future.
Absolutely the worst service ever. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. So unprofessional and scammed my family and I of our money. Nothing worked after claiming they fixed it and charging my family thousands of dollars. Had to hire someone else to fix the mess they made. Absolutely unacceptable!! Thought they were reliable.. will be taking our service elsewhere.
Although the technician that came out was excellent, this service was UNBELIEVABLY OVERPRICED!
We had a simple clog in a toilet (note: during normal business hours on a weekday) that I could not reach with my own drain snake. They charged me $770 to clear the drain!!
It took way less than 1 hour and the technician easily cleared the drain.
Other people told me not to call this company, but every other plumbing company in town could not make it out right away. I believe they took advantage of my unfortunate situation.
I will never use this company again...seriously.
I called for an inspection required from a lender about a ceiling water stain that was from a split line in a bathroom sink two years ago. We had shut off the valve to the cold water as the valve leaked and applied for a loan as we needed to gut and completely redo the bathroom. Assuming that the plumber was going to force the repair of the valve, we left it unfixed so that they could have the repair themselves, figuring it would cost $200 or so to switch out the valve and put in 3"" of copper pipe to raise it above the floor of the cabinet. A 15 minute job, according to the plumber that arrived. When he set up the estimate, it came in at $750. Obviously, when I can pay $30 for parts and my sons can swap it, we did that instead. The plumber assured me they could come and verify the sink didn't leak and give me the report I needed for the lender. I called and scheduled an appointment. Megan, who answered the phone, told me it couldn't be done because they can't guarantee the work. I told her I didn't need a guarantee only a signed letter stating it no longer leaked. She ""scheduled"" an appointment to get me off the phone and some woman left a message at 7:30am the next day to ""cancel."" I called to complain to Megan who sent me to a manager.
The manager ""mansplained"" to me they actually couldn't do an inspection again stating the ""guarantee"" that I still don't need. I told him if they lowered their prices, they could have done the work. He told me it cost $300 to send a truck out to our house. (insert eye roll here) Apparently, the customer is responsible for the truck and insurance payments, along with the stock they keep in said truck for other customers. Still, that leaves $450 for a 15 minute job (that I completely understand being charged an hour for) with $30 in parts (retail cost, not contractor cost). Talk about absolute highway robbery! I understand people need to earn living wages and companies need to make a profit to stay in business, but this is excessive and it is gut wrenching people, especially the elderly, have to pay out the nose because they are unable to fix things like this themselves.
Had to call Mr Rooter to check my leaking toilet. The young man was friendly, courteous and professional. He put cloth covers on his shoes to protect my carpet. He knew exactly what needed to be done. Fixed my toilet and cleaned up after.
This company has done several jobs for us and will continue to use them .
I was scheduled for a Monday appointment but nobody showed up until Wednesday. I needed to constantly call to check up because nobody called me to update me.
A nice young guy came to my home and gave information to his boss on what I needed. I needed to vent my gas hot water heater outside the home. The nice young guy told me his boss would need to look at it.
That is when I meet Tim. You could tell he was not too sure either what to do but I explained to him what needed to be done. Tim thought I was an idiot and said it would cost not the $1500 he said but $3,500. Why? The original idea was that there was an extra layer of brick to go through. I told him I would get the extra bring out of his way and the price was still $3500. In the end I think he knew I was desperate to get this done and he thought I was a sucker.
Finally, I called back a plumbing company and told me it would cost $800.
I will not call them again for anything.

Jen N.Our family gives this company a 5+ rating without hesitation. Our hot water tank went out the night before my Mother-In-Law's viewing, around 8PM. There were up to 9 people that needed to shower before 9AM the next morning. There were no technicians available on that short of notice, so the manager took care of this himself! He was at our house to measure for a new tank early the next morning and we had water before 8AM. The customer service for this company was outstanding and we are grateful to them for their compassion during a very challenging time.
Darren M.These guys were great. Had a sewer line backup a few years ago, and they were right out. Found out the clay pipe was clogged with tree roots. Allowed me to save money by digging the sewer line myself. Very polite and professional.
