Kacy B.Very positive experience. Quick service, reasonable cost. Plumber at my home Braden W. was super courteous and communicative. Would use again!
This company is a rip off. Do not use the! Charged $3000 to dig 10 inch hole, replace valve and install unwanted expansion tank. Wish my family had read these reviews firs. They are shisters, will be filing with BBB
Bill came out at 10 pm to get our toilets flushing again and did a greAt job. he was polite and worked as fast as he could to get us going. as a homeowner I will definitely use them again (hopefully not soon) but great experience.
Not sure why this review lists my location as San Francisco. I'm in Waco, TX.
My appointment was between 8-10am. At 11:45am, no one had shown up, or called, so I called them. I was told that he was in another town, working on something else. So, I took off work in the afternoon (losing business and money in the process) hoping to still get the work done. Their time is valuable, but not mine. No apology for being late, no explanation, other than "we bumped you to go work on something else". When I called to complain, I was told that Charlene, the operations manager had made the decision to "bump" my work until later in the day. That makes it worse, because it wasn't even the technicians fault, it was an executive decision to bump me, AND not notify me in any way.
I wish that was the end of it. When Darren finally showed up, he had me sign off on the estimate we had agreed to, in order for me to authorize the work. In less than 5 minutes, he found "other problems" that would nearly double the initial estimate. I said something like "well, it's always something", and his sarcastic response was "it's not our fault your house is old." At that point, I told him to collect his tools, and leave. He talked sh*t on the way out to his van, but I guess he didn't see me watching out the front window. I opened my door and asked him if he had something else to say, at which point he invited me out into the street to settle it!? Wow. Just wow.
So, to recap: 4 hours late, tacked on extra work which doubled the estimate, talked sh*t about my home, talked sh*t on the way out the door, then challenged me to a fight. Not professional, and kind of dangerous to be honest. I don't roll that way, but some other homeowners in Texas might have taken him up on his offer. He left without even turning the water back on. What a joke.
I am BEYOND displeased, and will never, ever call this company again. I only wish I had read all of the other well-deserved one start reviews here. How does this company stay in business?
I have used Mr. Rooter multiple times over the last few years of home ownership. Had nothing but great experiences. Robert came out and did a wonderful job giving us peace of mind. Hopefully the great experiences continue has plumbing issues can be a nightmare to deal with.
Absolutely the worse idea I ever had. Our toilet in the half bath clogged up. We were not sure who to call so we figured we would give Mr Rooter a shot. The plumber showed up, pulled the toilet and proceeded to damage the line for 4 hours. After he was done, he said he would have to bring in a water pressure jet trailer to clear it out. It would cost me $1400. After I told him the toilet vent had a bend in the pipe, he said the water jet wouldn't work. His next solution was I would have to call my insurance company because they would have to tunnel under my house and replace the pipe. It was estimated to cost me $14,950. I figured this was ridiculous that they wanted to tunnel under my 4 year old home, so I called a different plumber that a friend recommended. He showed up with a bigger snake machine and after 35 minutes, the drain was clear and he was packing up. Mr Rooter charged me $450 to not fix it, and the local plumber charged me $180 and it works great. STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS!!!!!
Kade and James were spot on with there work. I highly recommend them
Jacob Wilson was our technician and he was great! Very reliable and helped out a lot. Thank you!!
Bill P.Multiple instances of incompetence, price gouging, and forgery(?) of my signature. Feel free to contact Mr. Mark McGaughy of Mr. Rooter2-Waco for confirmation of all details, or send a query to www.neighborly.com (the parent/franchisor company).
On Thursday, October 6, I noticed seeping coming from an
exterior, above-ground PVC pipe caused by a horizontal crack at a glued joint. I called Mr. Rooter-Waco who arranged for a visit
the following morning. A plumber arrived as promised.
He gave the line a good shake, and it began to seep more strongly. He
quoted me a price that I thought was grossly excessive for the
replacement of 10 inches of pipe having a PVC adaptor on one end and a
sweated brass-to-copper fitting on the other. Given the
the now worsening situation in which a more serious failure of the pipe
(with no shutoff to the supply except at the meter) could occur at any moment going into a 3-day holiday weekend with a 2-year-old in the house, I
reluctantly agreed to the quoted price, which the plumber stated was "corporate policy" (his words) and could not be negotiated.
2. He next went to Mr. Rooter 2-Waco's office for parts and returned.
It is surprising that such a large plumber's vehicle would not have
the required tools and materials for such a relatively simple, straightforward
repair involving straight, 1/2-inch fittings.
3. The water supply to the house was shut off and he began his work.
He installed a repair, which at this point used a single piece of blue
PVC pipe together with fittings at either end.
4. As soon as the system was pressurized a significant leak occurred
at the glued PVC fitting joint. The plumber informed me that he had
misjudged the type of pipe and thus used the wrong type of glue,
making rework necessary. He would need to cut the newly installed
blue PVC line, add a swedged splice, and then a new fitting with the
correct glue.
5. The plumber returned to his office for a second time for more parts, tools, and materials for the rework.
6. Upon his return he installed the rework with the correct glue. It
should be noted that the swedged splice created an otherwise
unnecessary potential point of failure, made more so by the obvious
misalignment where the two pieces of blue pipe are connected together
in what could have and should have been a straight line. (FYI, I'm a retired licensed aircraft A&P mechanic, inspector, and maintenance instructor)
7. After the rework was nearly completed, a third delay occurred when
the plumber called into his office to have an additional tool brought
to the house, in this case, a swedging device more powerful than the
one he had initially brought with him. The work was completed and the line no longer leaks at the place where the original failure occurred.
8. After more than five hours on the job, on his departure he dropped
a can of PVC glue on the lawn, and because he had failed to screw on
the cap an amount spilled on the lawn, burning a hole in the turf.
9. I was not given a receipt until several days later when I requested one. When the email containing the image of a receipt (trans. Ref# 000100418868) arrived I noted that the "agree to pay" signature at the bottom of the receipt was not mine. Some might ask if this could have been a forgery of my signature. Moreover, might this have been a forgery committed in the course of "interstate commerce" inasmuch as a copy of the questionable receipt was sent from Texas to Utah? Think about it. There's likely not enough involved with this receipt to merit civil or criminal action, but it can be helpful in providing some insight into the company's culture and value system.
10. My request for redress has not been answered.
I highly recommend Mr. Rooter in Waco. Bill Chrisman got to my house within 15 minutes. He located the problem immediately and was very honest and professional.
