Call them cause the house drain was backed up and everything was flowing back in basement! They came and took enough time to get house drained unclogged!!They did me right and price was fair! I RECOMMEND THEM!
I contacted Mr. Rooter because I have noisy pipes in my shower, and since I was under the impression they were here to fix my issue, I asked how much the would charge to change the flush handle on my toilet since they were already here. $58!
Changing the flush handle takes about 5 minutes, and I have done it previously myself. I asked because I was trying to gauge their pricing. That price was so exorbitant that I couldn't trust the rest of their estimate.
They looked at all of the plumbing in the rest of my house which is over 50 years old, and has had a good portion of the plumbing replaced in the last 5 years, and they ""found"" $1400 of things that should be replaced. They were very critical of the work that was done, not knowing my brother, who is a licensed plumber in Florida, did most of the work.
They wanted $700 as a deposit but I put them off, but they really tried.
The people on the phone were very pleasant, but not very knowledgeable when I called back for some additional information. I was trying to find out what office the two guys who came to my house operated out of, and to find out how I could contact Megan McKay, who on there recording, announces that she owns the company. Finally I got the address of the branch who sent the plumbers to my house, but they acted like they didn't even know Megan McKay, and didn't know how I could contact her directly.
Just use another company.
Chuck H.I had a plumbing emergency as the sump pump float would not rise completely. My usual plumber was unavailable until next week. But, with a finished basement an emergency call was necessary. Two plumbers arrived promptly and the sump pump and check valve needed to replaced. A new sump pump was on the truck, but the new check valve had to be purchased from Home Depot. When the check valve was replaced it was a geyser going off with water shooting upward all over the utility room. The geyser ruined two spare ceiling tiles that were stored along side of the washer. I had to supply rags for the clean up. However, after the two employees left I still had to clean up because there was still water on the floor. The wet rags were trashed. In addition, the braided rug in front of the washer had to be washed as it was covered with scale from the removal of the faulty sump pump. I was given a $50 credit for the damaged ceiling tiles along with a coupon for $57 that I had printed. However, after paying the bill I scrutinized the charges and I believe I was a victim of price gouging. The charge for the Everbuilt check valve was $190.01. In checking the Home Depot website the price of the valve was $16.48 plus $1.28 tax for a total of $17.76. So, the labor charge was $172.25 to install the check valve. The installation of the check valve only took about ten to minutes. The price for the Zoeller sump pump was $536.66. The Lowe's price for the sump pump is $249 plus $19.30 tax for a total of $268.30. So, the labor charge $268.30. I am a senior citizen on a fixed income and I believe that the sump pump replacements were very excessive. I don't mind paying a fair price but these charges for emergency service is ridiculous. It is interesting to note that the website claims that are no overtime charges.
I would give zero stars if possible. Had a water leak on my water main to the house under the brick porch. Got a few different quotes, between $3500-$4500. Mr. Rooter quoted $7,000!?!?!? OUTRAGEOUS!! They try to sell you on financing to ""help you out."" I, fortunately, did not go with them, but I got a much better company that did not have to bust up the sidewalk to run the water line like Mr. Rooter said they would have to do ( part of the $7,000 quote). Do NOT use this company. They will rip you off. I used Alternative Plumbing. Much better price. They used a directional boring machine to run the line. Started at 8 am, done by 1 pm. Professional, friendly, and affordable. Almost a year, no issues, no leaks. I would not trust Mr. Rooter to change a valve handle on my garden hose.
Brian K.Phone service was excellent. Appreciate the e-mail updates when a technician was assigned and on the way. Despite being a busy holiday time they were able to get out quickly for our emergency situation. The only downside was that the first truck on-site was not equipped to handle our particular situation, so we had to wait for a second truck to be dispatched. The wait time for that was once again quicker than expected and once on-site that technician understood the problem and resolved it.
I had a flood in my basement. On top of that my sewer line was backfilling. As a result I was not able to use the water in my house. So I called Mr rooter to set an appointment. They said they would be here the next day on a Saturday which was nice. At the end of the 2-hour window they gave me for an appointment they called me to tell me they would not be able to make it out that day but that I would absolutely be the very first person on their list the next morning. Again at the end of the 2-hour window they gave me they called to tell me they would not be able to make it out that day. At this point I have not been able to run water in my house for 3 days including the toilet, the shower, laundry, dishwasher etc. These people are unreliable. Do not call them for an appointment. They will not keep it. They will leave you stranded. They are not reliable. I wish there was a way to leave less than one star. These people prey on folks in an emergency as a standard business model. Unacceptable.
Charged $120 for a ""free quote"" to look at a bathtub pipe leak. They unscrewed 4 screws from a board to look at the pipe behind a board. Quoted me two quotes: the ""right way"" and ""wrong way"" (over 5 times the cost of what they verbally quoted me on a prior visit for a separate issue) to resolve the issue. I declined both options but still had to pay for the quote - due to the 4 minutes it took to unscrew the board and put it back.
If you take out a credit line with them (or technically their financial partner), your repair costs will suddenly ballon up to the maximum of your credit limit.
The workers that came out to my house were very nice, professional and fast to fix my problem. But their manager Adam is terrible. I called 4 days in A row 2-3 times a day to get the video and pictures of the pipes they worked on for my insurance company and they never got back to me. Then randomly after calling for days I am woken up by two men from mr rooter on my roof getting pictures and videos of my pipes because ""they lost the footage"". They did not let me know they were coming, they did not have permission to go on my roof and they did not have permission to come on my property. Called to talk to a manager as to why there were men at my house and did not get a phone call back or response until I called again and threatenes the BBB then all of a sudden im on hold to talk to the manager Adam. He did not apologize for not calling me back for 5 days and blamed everyone else that worked there as to why He didn't call me back.
What's crazy is a I got phone calls and voicemails daily for the last week asking when i Want them to come out to do a $16000 job. So you can call me non stop to get money but can't call me back about videos and pictures from a job that I had already paid for? this company is a big scam, they don't care about you as a customer unless you are giving them money right then and there. Also I got other plumbers and contractors to come out and look at my pipes, they said that it would cost not even a third of what mr rooter quoted me. Huge scam of a company and their manager Adam is terrible at his job and with customers.
They came out unclog my kitchen sink and during the process damage a pipe that cause a leak so I call the manager to let him know that one of his plumber cause a leak while trying to unclog my sink. He stated to me that I was just trying to get some work done for free .I was stun to here that, this is how a manager respond to a paying customer. Ok mr. rooter that's the last time you will here from me. Buyer beware , used car salesman
I wouldn't call mr. rooter nothing in toledo ohio
I live across the state line in Michigan. When I called to set up an appointment I made sure they knew this. I was assured they service this area. Technician arrived on time, we talked about my backed up floor drain and he gave me a price of $900-something to hydro clean the drains. When I hesitated, he dropped it to 675 or so. I reluctantly agreed & he said he had to ""get gas for his truck then go back and get a different truck because he didn't have the right equipment"" to do this job. Said would take about half hr. An hour and a half later I called, then had to wait for a manager to call me back. When he did, I was told the tech would be there in an hour, that a truck was down and that he would drop another $40 off the price. 15 mins later I got a call from the receptionist stating ""you have to call Mr Rooter of Michigan. We don't go out that way."" I said, what are you talking about, you were already here?? She said yes, but we're not coming back. What a horrible way to do business. I wasted many hours of my day waiting for these jerks.
