Yesterday I finally got around to checking on a fire sprinkler repair that had been done a few years back. The leak was much worse than a thought.

Having had a pipe repair by Mr Rooter in the past, I called and the technician called me back promptly. He was really busy and fit me in in the afternoon.

He called his supervisor as my repair was not standard (fire sprinklers must be repaired by certified specialists else the home owner's insurance may be void if not repaired properly).

Daryl was concerned by my predicament and told me how to shut off the water and instructed me to depressurize my fire sprinkler system. He told me even though he couldn't complete the repair, he offered to stop by in the afternoon as a courtesy.

I called a fire sprinkler specialist and had the job completed. I called to thank Daryl to notify him of the change in plans. I was pleasantly surprised that he called me later in the evening to make sure the repair was done and I was out of trouble!

I have used this company several times over the years and always had a good experience. They were always a little pricey but I trusted their work. When I called for an appointment I was saddened to learn that the previous owner Dave had sold the company. I decided to give them a try anyway. I was given a two hour window for an appointment for the following day and was told someone would call first. I waited and waited. No call and no one shows up. I give them another half hour and call. I was told the plumber was delayed but they would get back to me. Not good that they never called to tell me. An hour later they show up. They sent a rookie over who did not seem to understand how to take care of a pretty simple issue that I was considering doing myself. He took some pictures and promised to get back to me. That was nearly a week ago. The day after they came I had the good sense to call someone else who came the same day and fixed the problem in less than an hour.

I had Mr. Rooter come out a little over 2 months ago to fix a leak in my kitchen sink and do some caulking to the sink and a shower. The person that came out was nice but not very knowledgeable. he told me the leak was in the sprayer. He also caulked the shower and after waiting the necessary amount of time it washed away after the first use. He replaced the sprayer but there was still a leak. They also came back and caulked the shower again but it peeled in a couple of weeks. After having them come out a couple of times I called someone else and they fixed the leak right away. I called Mr. Rooter to ask for a refund since they ended up doing nothing and I was told a supervisor would call me back. Yes, I am still waiting for that call over 2 months later. They had done alright for me in the past but their lack of customer service and ability to actually fix the problem has left me looking elsewhere.

I use to love Mr. Rooter but the new ownership DOES NOT care about customer satisfaction. I had already had a bad experience with one of their service guys but I was lazy and called them again to fix my kitchen sink. I couldn't easily pull the faucet out to wash dishes. $700 later and a second visit and it is worse than before but in a new way. The replacement faucet they put in is not the right size for a kitchen sink. It is more what a dog washer would use. When you do the dishes, the water is splattering everywhere so you get drenched as does your backsplash. The second issue is that the hot water is towards the right instead of the left but ok this is hard to explain but to get to hot water, you either get extremely hot or cold. There isn't enough of a space between hot and cold. There's no warm. I called and they waited over a week to get back to me. The same service man came. It isn't that he is is rude or not capable but well, the problem is still there and the company just does not care. I would rather have the old problem and my $700 back. I am discouraging everyone from this company and I hope you will heed my warnings. I have been burned twice but bad workmanship. I miss the old couple who ran the company. They really cared about their clients.

This is one of those times where what I paid was overmatched by the service! 45 minutes to apply the scientific method to figure out where in the pipes was the clog that backed up my kitchen sink. Found it! Pasta or congealed cheese in pipe before it left outside, below the spur. Great job!!!! Polite, engaging and very neat with great cleanup!

We just had replacement vinyl in one of our bathrooms, but the flooring folks do not replace toilets once the work is completed. So we called Mr. Rooter to finish the job. They did a horrible job! They left grease on the brand new floor and on the toilet bowl, one of the bolts they used was too big for the plastic cap, and they did not caulk around the base as the guy had ""run out of caulk"".

I called the national appointment center but they would not give me either an email or a corporate phone number to lodge my complaint.

We used to call them all the time when they were locally owned by Dave. Aparently he has retired. Never again!!

I called this company for a leak in my water main and they dug a little and said it would cost me$6000.00 for new copper water main. I was shocked . They did recommend leak detector since they didn't want to dig up my whole lawn. Good thing I did he found the leak right where they were digging. It was just a cracked pvc pipe that I had another plumber fix for$250.00.
What a rip off company do not trust these guys. Call someone else!!

Just had the best service experience wth Mr rooter- the main water line broke due to tree roots - they came out promptly, was not an easy fix and they had the parts necessary and got the job done. Always makes us grateful when the water comes back on and that we have a go to person to call when these things happen. Will be sure to use them again.
Ask for Shannon Silva- nice gentleman and professional and they clean up everything afterwards - 925-825-0100. We live in Alamo but they go anywhere in the Tri-valley.

He inspected my water heater and identified the problem quickly. But he said he would charge $300 since it would involve more than an hour of labor, even though the material cost was $15. This was not true because the actual work was only for 15 minutes. I had another plumber come and fix the same in 15 mins and charged $140.
I would not call him again. He charges based on the urgency of the situation and the quality of your home, and not based on the actual material and labor needed to fix the problem.
