In 1970, David Duck founded Mr. Rooter Plumbing, opening the first location in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Duck launched his plumbing company, calling it Mr. Rooter. After discussions with Don Neighborly, Duck sold Mr. Rooter Plumbing to The Neighborly Group in 1989. Although Duck transferred the rights to the business and its original franchises, he retained his shop in Oklahoma City. David Duck remains a franchise owner to this day.
