In 1970, David Duck founded Mr. Rooter Plumbing, opening the first location in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He began his own plumbing venture, branding it as Mr. Rooter. The Neighborly Group took over Mr. Rooter Plumbing in 1989 after negotiations between Duck and Don Neighborly. Although Duck sold the rights to the business and its original franchises, he retained his shop in Oklahoma City. Today, David Duck continues to be a franchise owner.
