My wife and I have called Mr Rooter several times before in an emergency and always ended up paying a sky-high price for repairs. I get that you kind of have to expect to be overcharged a little when you're in a tight spot and can't really say no to going ahead with the work. But it now looks pretty clear to me that Mr Rooter plumbers are trained to take maximum advantage of customers financially, even when they are not in a moment of crisis.

The last straw for my wife and me came a few days ago. We had a relatively minor problem that we were willing to pay a little more for to have fixed quickly. But even then, we were presented with a crazy expensive and completely unnecessary fix. Specifically, we had a problem with the hot water feed on our bathroom sink that required the replacement of a part that would cost $20 tops at Home Depot. (I know as much because I checked online.) But the Mr Rooter plumber quoted us $700 to do the job, explaining how the entire faucet and all of the connecting apparatus below it needed to be completely replaced.

Honestly, I'm embarrassed at how long it took me to get wise to the skeezy way this company does business. Don't be fooled. If Mr Rooter were a doctor's office instead of a plumbing company, and you went to them to have a wart removed from the back of your hand, you'd be told straight-facedly why you needed your entire arm replaced with the latest and greatest artificial limb, and that it'd ""only"" cost you a couple of million dollars in parts and labor to attach. It's really messed up. But this is how Mr. Rooter rolls. Consider yourself warned.

We had an emergency Saturday evening call from a short term renter. We live five hours away from the property and called Mr. Rooter for an emergency appointment. From initial call to completed repair was under two hours. The cost was what would be expected of an emergency call. The staff were courteous and professional.

I had a plumbing emergency so I contacted Mr. Rooter through the online chat on their website. They said they sent over my info to the local dispatcher. They gave me the main number to call as well. Some time went by and I called the main number. They collected my info and tried to send my call to the local office but couldn't get through. They said they sent over my info to the local office but gave me the local office to call to make sure. I tried to also call the local office and no answer. No call returned. No contact from them whatsoever.

Our shore house sewer line backed up in the basement the Sunday night of Memorial Day weekend. We called Mr. Rooter at 11:30 pm Sunday night. They were willing to send someone by 1 am but it was dark and we wanted to wait when it was light in the morning. At 8:30 am Vlad and Alex appeared -- our heroes! They snaked the line and pulled out 8 inches of tree roots!! They had to leave to bring in the hydrologic jet to get the rest -- they showed me the forest growing in the pipes on the camera. When they left, they said they'd be back in 2 hrs (the time it would take to go and return). They returned in 1.5 hrs, cleaned the pipes and I was sitting on the beach by noon! On Memorial Day! We have a year warranty. Root removal from pipes is expensive, and while the price was high, we thought it was very fair, especially given this was Memorial Day! They didn't even upcharge for the holiday. Thank you Vlad and Alex!! You guys saved the day!

We have an old school septic system out in the sticks!
Our home drainage system was clogged up! Sinks and tub stopped up! Toilet wouldn't flush! Yes! We found ourselves in a ""stinky situation""!
I tried my best to self diagnose and correct the problem...nope! I gave it all I had.... Time to call the professionals!
On a Saturday afternoon I called Mr Rooter and a real live person answered the phone! They told me Alex would be there in about an hour! Wow!
Guess what? In about an hour here comes the red Mr Rooter van! Yessir! Alex was there to save the day!
Very friendly and professional...he went right to work and within about a half hour everything was flowing again!
Alex pointed out the reason we had the drainage issues...
This guy really knows his s#!+ Lol!
Seriously though, if you have a major drainage problem, don't look any further than Mr Rooter!

Zayne was absolutely amazing!! He was very professional and kind throughout the entire process. Never once did I feel like I was inconveniencing him since it was an after hours emergency call. And from the time we called till the time he got to our house was within a couple hours which is an amazing response time as many other ""emergency"" dealing companies just say they don't have anyone available for the night. Zayne gave 110%, and that's being modest! Thank you!

Ps. The price is high but this was an emergency call and the level of service we received was top notch. Well worth the money!

Very courteous, professional and punctual...HOWEVER, beware--they price by the job. I was given an estimate of $417 for a slow-draining kitchen sink with no guarantee that gets the job done. Seemed way high. First, tried snaking it myself plus bio-friendly chemicals to no avail. Finally found a local plumber who cleared it in under 20 min and sheepishly agreed to accept $20!!! You gotta be kidding me
