Associated with Lee's Air and Plumbing, this company came our several times to clear a pipe before detecting that there was a problem with the sewer line under the master bath vanity. I was quoted $19,000 to demo and repair the pipe. Turns out, another contractor discovered the problem line was also running underneath a fireplace and into the family room. I don't know who is in charge at the Mr. Rooter, but when I asked for a breakdown of the charges they split the charge into 3 parts (to the penny) and did not break it down by labor, materials, hours, etc. Also, they destroyed and through away our vanity and after removing the toilet, through it away too (a completely good toilet). Just not professional in estimating, they over charge for labor, and they seem not to follow conventional procedures in a demo.
Lesson: Get more than one estimate and insist for a complete breakdown.
Jorge P.They came same day we called, our main sewer pipe was clogged and they were able to clean it out quickly and professionally. A bit pricey but worth it. Customer service was excellent, thanks Rooter Plumbing
Did not show for appointment to install line from sink under the house and through the wall to refrigerator. After no show, called and was told the man who wrote our bid was no longer there (less than a week later) and another employee needed to come out and reassess the job. The second employee informed us that there would be a substantial increase in the fee. We were unable to negotiate a reasonable increase in person. Told their minimum charge for ANY type of work is more than $200. (There was no charge for the initial bid, however.) We were told we would receive a new bid two hours later. Called another plumber and got a bid for the same full job-- at a lower cost than the Mr. Rooter's original bid. We wasted a lot of time rearranging our schedule to be home for a no-show. The two visits spent negotiating a price was longer than it would have taken the same employee to complete the job.
Positive: Quick initial response and friendly office liaison.
They came out twice and did not fix the problem. There was really no guarantee as I paid $180 and you did not fix the problem. Instead you tried to sell me a $5800 dollar sewer line replacement. I called Gary's Plumbing and they cleared my line for less money. They used a bigger cable and actually had two large blades on the end. Your tech did not use blades.
Judy J.Awesome service. Great tech. Friendly and helpful and answered my many questions. Didn't try to get me to buy unnecessary products. Got the job done and even saved me money. Thanks Mr Rooter!
Never again. We had our shower back up when we flushed the toilet. It was a Sunday evening. They sent out a ""plumber"" who said they could no longer go onto the roof to snake it due to a $10,000 fine by OSHA if they were caught. It was $190 to come out and an extra $200 to pull the toilet. Since we have an older home he wanted to install a new clean out, that would cost a total of $990. I said never mind we will get other estimates in the morning. The end of the story...... work was completed by an independent plumber for $175!!!
I was given a quote for 2 hours of service. After an hour and a half, the plumber said he needs an additional part so it will cost me more. I said how much is the part, and he said it's not the part that is the concern, it's the extra time. He looked info up on his tablet and he quoted me another $200. I told him I can't afford that. I had already paid more than $300 to put in a very simple faucet and was under the 2hr time, so it made no sense to pay $200 more dollars. He said, ok he will do it for $50 and not report it to his company if I pay him in cash. I told him I don't have cash. He made me, a female, go to an atm after dark by myself to get him $50 so he can be paid under the table with no record of his income, which is illegal. When I arrived back home with the money to give it to him, only an hour and 50 minutes had passed since he arrived, so no extra money should have been charged because the quote was for two hours. The next day I noticed his work was leaking. I remember the plumber said the work was guaranteed for 60 days, but I did not call him back, because quite frankly, I did not want this man with unethical business practices in my home again. So, I called a friend who came over and examined it and said the plumber failed to use teflon tape where he should have, a very basic thing. So in all I was charged over $400 for a very basic faucet installation, received very subpar service, and was forced to visit an atm after dark alone. I will definitely never call Mr. Rooter again. This was shockingly the worst service I've received in my life. I couldn't believe how outrageous this was. When I told my husband what happened, he was furious.
Garrett C.Called at 9:30am and they had a tech to me at noon. Dispatch kept education me updated when the tech was going to arrive. The tech was polite and worked quickly to fix my toilet leak. After he was finished he inspection both toilets. He tighten some of the bolts and cleaned his mess. Friendly and professional!
I'm pretty sure there are great plumbers out there, but with great ones, there must be some of the opposite. That's exactly what I got!!! This Mr. Rooter that goes by M**e, came to my house in the 93722 area was a complete joke!!! He is one cocky as guy that cannot stop bragging about his 20 plus year in the business and that he has seen it all. So he swapped out our kitchen faucet (plug and chug job) and charge $200 for the visit and $320 for the labor. The faucet was provided by the home owner, otherwise Mr. Rooter guy here would tack on another $300 to go pick up a $60 faucet. Ok, so he was paid over $500 for the job, seems really over priced.
If that wasn't interesting, things just got more interesting. Everything seems to be working fine, until faucet assembly starts separating from the base. We thought it was normal until it got worse. The home owner was informed and the rooter guy came back out to check it out. First thing that came out of his mouth ""you guys broke it."" Then he goes and pushes up and down on the neck of the spout further damaging the assembly. Then he goes and tell us that only the labor is cover and not the part. Can u believe that....this clown cost $500! He then goes on and brags how over his 20 plus years of experience he has never seen anything like this. His customer service skills sucks donkey ass!!! He made us feel irresponsible from the minute he came in and never once did he bother to explore other options, like if it may be a defective product. So he recommend us to go buy a new one and call him to come fix it. In my mind I was like, F*** that guy!
Now this is the part that blows away his 20 plus of wanna be years!!! After he left, I called the faucet company and had a 20 min chat with them. I describe the issue to best of my ability. I myself have years of YouTube DIY experience. Some might say why didn't I just fix the problem myself. Will we are renting and we though it was best to let the owner know what's going on and if he suggest that we fix it, then it would have been done that way. Anyways back to the story, after that 20 min chat with a tech, it was determined that the faucet was defective and we should return it to where we bought it for a replacement. Just like that, a real trained tech able to diagnose the issue over the phone, and not once did they accuse us of breaking it. I have to give 5 stars to the delta faucet phone techs! So there you have it!! Years of experience means sh*t when you're so single minded! Now I'll be doing the replacement myself.
My toilet was making a dripping sound so I called mr. Rooter. I asked the manager how much they would charge for checking toilet. She said each person carries a book of prices and that they will tell me the prices after they look at the problem. Well, when the guy came to look at the toilet, he moved a piece not even an inch and told me it was fixed. He then charged me $152.00!! I told him the lady I talked to said that he would give me a price before. He told me that what I had was in the ""grey area"" and fixed it before telling me the price. I will never use this business again!
