I will simply state the facts, and you make the call. I needed the water heater replaced and hired these guys. Here's what it cost:
One 40 gallon water heater, installed ( parts & labor ) $ 2,400.00
My advice, shop around, get 3 to 5 price quotes.

They're very nice, polite, and show up on time. But I think $1100 for ""less than 2 hrs labor, and about $20 in parts"" is a bit over priced. Duhhhh yep!
I found two other plumbers who were just as nice, polite, and punctual who would do the same job for less than $300, and hired one.

We called Mr. Rooter on the recommendation of some co-workers who'd had good experiences with them in the past. Our toilets were backing up (both of them) and sediment was bubbling up through the shower drains, so we were sort of expecting the worst. When I called them they offered an appointment within a day or two, but I opted for the following Monday. Andrew and his colleague arrived that morning, and from the start were attentive, professional, and efficient. They discovered debris and root growth in our main sewer line and offered an estimate of around $1800. Expensive, yes, but they then proceeded to dig a deep hole around the cast iron pipe in the yard outside the bathroom, remove the old pipe and install a new one, along with a new access joint. It was an all-day job, and everything was restored to its original place inside and out. Throughout the process, I was shown the clogged pipe, and informed on next steps and completion plan. I suppose we might have found a cheaper alternative (perhaps), but for efficiency and professionalism, they're hard to beat.

My daughter who is a student at SSU, called because their garbage disposal was not working in the brand new home her and 3 other girls share. The person that came out quoted her $300 for a diagnosis and $500 for a new disposal.
Knowing this is a brand new home with a brand new disposal he should have simply referred to the construction company that is still on sight.
Even with out doing the right thing, a new disposal runs for $40 to $100 at home depot.
Why would they need a $300 diagnosis and a $500 disposal?
How dare you try to take advantage of these young college girls.
You do not deserve to be in business, you give contractors a VERY BAD NAME.

Great employees but TERRIBLE prices.
$550 to replace the pilot assembly/thermocouple on a 6 year old Rheem water heater seemed steep as it was $1000 new and installed in 2011.
Their estimate of $2200 to replace the 40 gallon water heater is beyond ridiculous it's highway robbery.
Just FYI you can p/u a 40 gallon Rheem at Home Depot for $500 so next time it fails I'll just borrow my friend's truck and install it myself.
Sheesh.

The service was courteous and professional, but I was floored that it cost me over $300 for a simple line rooting that took all of 30 minutes. 5 years ago it was $179. I'll be calling a handyman next time. I feel ripped off. The plumber agreed to root the line in the slow drain bathtub, then talked me out of doing it after the price was set, saying that the line could be damaged if we did it. The drain is still slow but I didn't want to damage it so I backed off. Not thrilled at the steep ever increasing cost of this service. At this rate if increase it will cost me $500 next time.

Mr. Rooter has a great staff including Dave Rose and Sal Baldengro. They once again provided stellar service and repairs to our aging plumbing. After finding root clogged main line that ran from our house to the street they were able to remove the clogs and repair the pipe without destroying our front landscaping and it all came with a 50 year guarantee. We would highly recommend Mr. Rooter to anyone needing a plumber!

Justin Mann just left my home, he was thorough, professional and approachable. I so appreciated his honesty and that he let me know pricing ahead of time. He explained everything he was going to do and then his work once the job was completed. This is the second time I've used Mr Rooter and I have been so pleased with their work both times. Never been so relieved to hear a flushing toilet!!!

This was a tough one to rate. I busted the main water line to my house and a second house on the property, so called Mr. Rooter on a Saturday morning to fix it. The guy on the phone said they could be here by 7:30 tonight, but may be able to come out sooner. In fact, Andrew got here around 5, explained what needed to be done, and did an excellent, professional job, and within a short timeframe. He could not have been more polite or respectful, and deserves 10 stars if he were being rated. But here's the rub - in my apparently out-of-date frame of reference, I was ready to get hit with a $200 repair bill, since it is a Saturday, and they were called on short notice because of the emergency situation. Well, the bill wasn't $200, it was $600. For a retiree such as myself, who is on a fixed income, this is a huge chunk of change. The job took less than 1 hour of 1 employee's time, with a minimal amount of materials used. I'm still giving Mr. Rooter 5 stars, because of the excellent service, but anyone who gives weight to Yelp's reviews when deciding on which service provider to use, should be apprised of their cost.

With an emergency situation at my business location, I made an appointment for a plumber to come check out our drains & toilets. One plumber had just left because he was unable to make any repairs. I was hoping for competence this time around. To my surprise, my estimated wait time was ONE HOUR! I promptly received an email introducing the plumber expected to arrive including his qualifications. This was beyond what I anticipated for a plumbing service. So far so good. Our plumber, Justin Mann, arrived earlier than scheduled and was the epitome of professional. He explained we, indeed, had quite a situation and after diagnosing our issues called in reinforcements - Sal arrived shortly thereafter. In a few hours, and some serious camera and mega snake action, we were ""in the clear""!!! These guys make this business look good and represent *Mr. Rooter* very well in every regard. Will definitely recommend and advertise this business!
