Our water heater went out July 3rd. I called around to several reputable plumbers but no one would respond until after the holiday. Then I saw good reviews about Mr Rooter. Called and got an immediate response. Their technician, Vin, was the height of professionalism and courtesy. He worked from 5:30 till close to 10 at night to get our water heater in. He also noticed a leak in our emergency shut-off valve outside the house and replaced that, too. On top of that, he was very personable and funny. I know where I will be going for my plumbing needs from here on out.

They arrived exactly when they said they would. I explained that my tub and bathroom sink were not draining. One of the technicians used a wire with a camera and saw that the pipe was damaged.
Three delightful men came today, dug up the old(orangeburg) pipe, got under the house to reconnect pipes and within a few hrs, I have new drainage pipes and a new toilet .
The technicians were all very professional. They explained what they were going to do and exactly what it would cost.
No hidden fees, no additional costs. They cleaned up everything, took all garbage away and then called to check to be sure I was satified.

We hired Mr Rooter Sonoma to do a small residential job (under $10k) and they did everything right. When I first made contact, they immediately scheduled an experienced rep to come out and review our job for no-fee. Gave us a solid, clear quote right away. Scheduled the work quickly. Showed up on time with a great crew. The lead of their crew, Beto, walked through the project with me on-site and made sure to figure out all of the details that needed to be accounted for. They finished the work the same day and did an excellent job of it. At no point did I have to chase them around, wonder where they were or worry that they were not going to finish the job (as is so often the case when working with small residential contractors).

I wish that every small job and every contractor working on small jobs looked like this. Thank you!

A lot of other reviews here mention that these folks are overpriced. Based on my one experience working with them, I do think they land at the more expensive end of the spectrum. If what you have is a simple job that anyone can do and which is not urgent (installing a piece of off-the-shelf equipment, clearing a drain), you can probably save some money by shopping around.

If what you have is a job requiring skilled, on-time professionals - for my money it is worth paying a bit extra to bring these folks in. It is not easy to find contractors who will bring professionalism and reliability to any job less than $30k and that's what Mr Rooter Sonoma did for us.

$354 to Snake a Clogged Drain?!

Mr. Rooter Plumbing sent a technician out to remove a clog in the drainage for my shower, a simple 10 minute job with an electric snake. There were no pipes to disassemble, and no major investigative work, and this was during regular business hours--not an emergency call--just a simple clog. And for this they charged $354!

It's my mom's house, and we needed it done so I paid the money. I have since looked around and found local companies that will do the same job for as little as $129. That means they are charging almost 3 times what the competitor is charging. Ouch.

*the fact that I gave them any stars at all are because the technician was a nice guy.

My 89 year old mother called mr. Rooter about both the toilets clogged and or flushing poorly . It was not clear if it was the toilets or the sewer line . The Mr. Rooter tech showed up . and claimed that the toilets had Calcium build up in The Tank and both needed to be replaced .
Calcium build up in the tank has absolutely nothing to do with flushing capabilities, nothing !!!!, yet this jackass, in a predatory sales /fear tactic style , gave my mother a bid for 1300.00 for two new toilets !!
The tech made no effort to plunge the toilets , to make them function , to repair , adjust ,, nothing !! he left her with two toilets that barely flush and an ultimatum to pay 1300.00 to solve her problem .
I arrived the next day ( 45 years construction experience / was journeyman level plumber in 1985 went into general construction )
I simply plunged the toilets , changed the filler valves (15 minutes each) wiped down the flapper and seal with an old scotchbrite pad , and they worked like new ! in well under an hour , including the trip to the local hardware store.
The other thing I found inappropriate is their "" be a member"" and save 15% scam ,,, My Mom had the balls to say , ""well if you do your job right I won't need you again""
So my advice to you ,, don't do it , they are full of S@#$T

My friend had a clogged sewer line and on a Friday, they came out and said they couldn't fix it til Monday.
My friend had to move out of her house and she couldn't have someone else fix it because she agreed to let them do the work.
The blurb (mr. rooter in the company description) says 24/7 with no charge for overtime, but they leave a house with no working sewer for a whole weekend!
Here's exactly what my friend who had the flu said

I had a plumbing emergency at my house yesterday

my sewer line is backed up

Mr. Rooter plumbers that came and after two or three hours could not get through the roots so I can't stay in my house right now

they come back Monday and look for the washouts or create a new one and dig and use different equipment outside to try to scrub the line of tree roots

so last night I stayed with friends in Seb.
tonight I'm with a friend in Santa Rosa.
It's all a little overwhelming
I'm still not feeling 100%

I had to evacuate...

Was quoted nearly $3,500 for a new 40 Gallon water heater. (Hello?) Didn't use them.

I had a old pipe that sprung a leak late in the day, I called them and within and hour someone came to my home. They promptly came to my home and we able to fix the leak in about a half hour. They are reasonably priced as well!! they have a great staff all the way around and are by far the best company to call for help! I will definitely be calling them for any future needs/emergencies!

The technician showed up.on time. They knew what they were doing and got right to it. When they hit a snag in the process (literally) they didn't give up and went the extra yard to get it done. They made sure I was completely taken care of and I would only call Me. Rooter for these kinds of jobs. Thanks Guys!

My project, perma liner, was done during the fires. I appreciate the job still getting done during all the crazyness of the fires. Sal was great to work with in setting up the job. His depth of knowledge and lessons from working the SR city were very valuable. Bento and his crew worked hard and made sure the job was done.
