I needed to have a drainpipe jetted out at my rental property and Mr. Rooter was highly recommended to me. When the service person arrived, I asked if he would provide a report for me so I can disclose it when I sell the house. I also told him to call me if he had any troubles. I never received a call and I never received a report. When I returned to the house two days later, a whole corner of it all the way to the roof was splattered in mud and there was a large hole in the ground around where the work had been done. I called Mr. Rooter to complain, but because it was a weekend I was told that someone would get back to me within 48-hours. No one ever returned my call. I do not recommend and will not use them again.

We called for a stopped up kitchen sink. Good news = same day availability on a week day.
BAD NEWS = $400 to clean out a kitchen drain with degreaser. Take note: not the big whole house drain, just the KITCHEN drain. They did show up when they said they would, but $400 for a little degreaser and less than an hour's time. A RIP OFF. We went ahead since we had someone there to meet him and I didn't want to take time off to go another day. Will NOT call them again.

I called with a couple of issues at our new home that we purchased and had just moved into. The cold water faucet had a leak when the water was turned on, so the seal on the faucet was bad. I also needed a kitchen faucet installed and my icemaker line fixed.

Corey kept me informed on the time the technician would show up and Dale called letting me know he was on his way. All great at this point. They showed up and he looked at the washer box and said he had to replace the entire box ($361); however, I was adamant about the seal on the faucet. He saw my frustration and told his associate to go get a couple of pairs of channel locks. After a little work, the leak was stopped and he came to tell me he had good news. That is one way to make me think the he was on my side.

We went to the faucet installation at the kitchen sink and his iPad App came up with a number of $261 to put the faucet in. I thought it was pretty outrageous; however, I was not feeling well and we needed it done so he had to solder a new peach where the ice maker would be hooked up. Afterwards, he mentioned that he didn't charge me for the ice maker line or the work downstairs and followed that up with the fact that he will not be warrantying that work. The catch! If they start leaking, they are off the hook.

At one point, his apprentice had to run to Home Depot to get a part and he told me how green this person was that he was training. It took 30 minutes for him to find the part and return. (Usually a 15 minute trip)

In any event, our problems were solved but feel the only real work that is warrantied is the faucet itself and the rest was fixed but may fail. I was not in a very good place and did not have a great feeling once they left.

Hit and miss on this company.

My small backyard sump pump was running for hours and smoking, so I called Mr. Rooter to have someone come out and take a look. They gave me a window of time (12-2) and I was pleasantly surprised that the plumber came toward the beginning of that window. The plumber arrived, was quite nice and got straight to work trying to figure out the problem. As I expected, the motor had burned out and I would need to have the pump replaced. Fair enough. However, when they gave me a quote of $850.00 (!!!), I was floored, knowing as did that a new pump of this size runs about 50 bucks. The most expensive one you can possibly buy is around $150. So that means they were quoting me (at a minimum) $700.00 worth of labor! Are you fn kidding me? The guy who put the original one in took one hour to do it. Is 1 hour of work to replace it worth $700.00? You tell me. Anyway, what a racket. Oh, I forgot to add that when i balked at the quote, the nice plumber guy called his office and got them down to $700 from $850. What a deal! Needless to say, I said thanks no thanks. I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

Josh. M was very professional and helpful. He arrived on time, determined the problem right away and repaired quickly.

I called about a toilet leak in a condo I currently rent. He got on a phone call multiple times with the condo owner who lives out of town to explain the problem and discuss all the different options to resolve. I really appreciated his patience with this process.

Only downside was service seemed expensive.

I called on a Saturday afternoon, desperate due to a cracked & leaky pipe leading to the septic. Technician Ron P. Came quickly, explained everything & fixed it fast, for a reasonable price. Highly recommend

I think $435 for snaking a kitchen pipe, which we removed all pipes and made it ready for the guy to snake before his arrival, was ridiculously expensive.

I called them at noon with a minor emergency in home (water leaking from between the first and second floor. They were the only company that came out to where I live that said that they could have someone there that day. At 4pm, they called and said that they could not come out that day but they would definitely have someone out there by 9am the next day. I took a few hours off of work and waited for them. At 11am, I called to find out what was happening, I was told that the plumber who would help me had started work and I was his first call, so he should be there soon. He arrived at 12:30pm. So I ended up taking the entire day off.

The plumber who helped was friendly and kept me informed of what was going on. At one point, though, he wanted to cut a large hole in a bedroom wall to replace the entire shower/tub mechanism. This made no sense, because the leak did not happen when we just ran water from the shower and tub. It only leaked when water splashed against the wall. He continued to insist that we had to replace the entire thing ($1250). I was assertive and after he put silicone around a couple of pieces that were easily removed and replaced, the leak was fixed ($200). I am glad that I was assertive because I would have had a lot more dry wall to fix if I hadn't been.

Cannot recommend.

I had Mr Rooter Plumbing out a year ago to fix my boiler for my heat system. The tech figured out the problem, said it would cost $560 (approx - they never gave me an invoice, and I paid by check). The tech was knowledgeable. The price included the part to be replaced and two visits (one to install). The tech sold me on an annual checkup visit, so this year I called to schedule. The 1st tech came out on 11/12/15. I had a mixing valve I had bought and wanted them to install as well as do a boiler checkup. The valve was a simple installation - not necessary to drain boiler & screw-in - not sweat in - fittings. The 1st tech said it would be $213, including tax. I said ok. A little later, he said he was uncomfortable with replacing the valve because he didn't know boilers. He left w/o doing anything. 11/16/15, tech #2 came out. He had to spend about 15 min reading our boiler manual to understand what he was looking at. The he retreated to his truck and emerged a little later saying that the price would be $740. I said what about the $213 bid. He was firm at $740. That included $275 to loosen/retighten 3 screw-in fillings to replace the mixing value that I supplied (there were valves on either side of the mixing valve to shut the water off, so he didn't have to drain anything. The extra almost $500 was for ""checking the boiler."" Last year, that meant checking the spark, checking the PSI (reading a meter). Could possibly involve punching a few buttons to reprogram (but this guy didn't know enough to do that). Anyway, not worth almost $500. I almost fell over. I refused to pay that, so he said I had to pay $42.71 for a service call, which I did against my better judgment. He did nothing to the boiler, which appears to be functioning just fine. I wanted to just make sure it was okay on an annual basis, but not to pay $500 plus $275 to install a valve that I bought. Someone said these guys work on commission. If that is the case, tech#2 wanted to make more than tech#1. I think it is unprofessional to quote 2 different prices, to send someone out who doesn't know anything about boilers, and to try to charge an arm and a leg for just a checkup. By the way, today, my husband found a pump in the system (not the boiler that wasn't working), if the tech's checkup charge had been reasonable, he could have found that and charged more. Maybe I am happy he didn't because who knows what he would have charged then. Anyway, beware if you have a boiler. They don't know much about boilers. And don't call them unless you have a lot of money you want to part with.
