As of today, 4/19, I still have not received a call back from the owner (Pete). I have been calling for going on 4 weeks now and he refuses to call me back. Really impressed with how unresponsive and unprofessional this business is. Too bad for them that they lost out on my business in the future. Nice Job Mr. Rooter of Oswego County! Terrible and incompetent!!!!!

Poor quality. Unresponsive. We had Pete (owner) sell and install a purification system in our septic tank. I checked the background on the system and it got great reviews. Pete charged us $350/yr to maintain it. The septic system failed a year later. Pete said the problem was the field tile. We spent several thousand more with Pete fixing the field tile. A year later the system failed again. Pete proposed a massive redo of our whole system. I got suspicious and hired a consultant. He found that the purification system was NEVER maintained. After substantial hassle and the threat of a law suit, we got most of our money back. While all of this was going on our neighbor hired Pete to install a new toilet. The installation leaked. Upon investigation my neighbor found that the toilet was installed over a rotted floor (I good plumber would have noticed that) and they used 5 wax rings to compensate for the rot. Take your business elsewhere.

I am a property manager. I picked Mr. Rooter because I assume that the franchise name is a safe bet.

A tenant reported Monday night that the tub is back up and the toilet is not flushing. I called Mr. Rooter of Fulton to fix the problem Tuesday morning. With-in an hour, a plumber is there. The plumber calls me an hour after and told me that the problem is that he needed to snake the pipe. Before snaking the pipe, he had to unscrew tiles to get to the pipe.

He asked for my payment information and I gave it to him (too trusting of an idiot that I am) without asking him for the price. After giving him the payment info, I asked him for the price. I was not provided with an estimate of the cost of the job before he started work.

The bill came out to be $322.49 after tax for ONE HOUR's worth of work. I emailed and called Peter (the owner) and had no success in speaking with him directly. I was offered a $25 discount for the next job from one his employee that snaked the pipe.

No response to website request for appointment and their Fulton location DOES NOT EXIST.
On 7/13/15 I entered an appointment request on the MR ROOTER website to get my septic tank pumped and got the following response:

""Hello Keith,
We have received your appointment request and will be reaching out to you shortly. Thank you for trusting us to fix your plumbing issue!
If there is anything else we can help you with or if you have a question about scheduling your service, please call your local Mr. Rooter Plumber.""

On 7/20/15 I then emailed the following:
""Subject: Re: Mr. Rooter | Thank you for requesting an appointment
Date: Mon, 20 Jul 2015 21:52:45 -0400
From: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
To: [email protected]

It's been a week. I thought you'd be ""reaching out to me SHORTLY"".

NO RESPONSE.

I found their local Fulton location on their website:

Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Oswego County
202 County Rte 85
Fulton, NY 13069.
United States
(315) 887-4057

I made a copy of the email about ""reaching out to me shortly"" and drove to the above location.
IT DOESN'T EXIST!

Clearly, MR ROOTER was a figment of my imagination. I had my septic pumped by someone else.

Shady business practices. Our line out was draining slowly, so we first had them come out and cable the line. The problem was fixed for awhile, then got slow again even being very careful about what was going into line. We had them come out again to do the HydroScrub ($500) because we were told that it came with a 6 month warranty if they had to come back out in that time frame. Right on the receipt it says under warranty 6 months. When he came out he couldn't find the cover to access the sewer line directly so went through the vent, which meant using a smaller hose. After he finished, he found the direct line in and said he would use the right sized hose having found it, but he had two other appointments that day. We thought, no big deal we have a 6 month warranty if it isn't fixed he can come use the larger hose. We call the third time it is going slow, and the hydroscrub is down, so they say they will send someone out with the cable. When that guy gets here, he informs us that THE WARRANTY ONLY MEANS WE GET A SLIGHT DISCOUNT FOR THAT 6 MONTH PERIOD. In what world is that a warranty? We only went with far more expensive service because of the promise of a 6 month warranty, not being told that warranty was a joke. I am talking, knocking the price of just the cableing service from 206 to 175 (before tax). The HydroScrub was close to $500. When we said this wasn't what we were told the tech said he would call his boss, left without saying anything and we haven't heard back from them since. Please don't make the same mistake we did dumping a bunch of money for such shady sub par service.
