Anita R.PRICE GOUGING!!!
These guys quoted me $589 to install a $165 Garbage Disposal.
$424 for 30 min of labor?
Whatever!
Be sure to shop around before using.
Karen S.Mr. Rooter came to my home in Longmont last winter in March and repaired a water leak... from my baseboard heat register... since the one register was leaking they quoted me and I paid for preventative repairs to all heat registers in my mother-in-law basement apartment. They had to drill into the concrete, seal each pipe, and wrap/cover with insulation. The manager, who is no longer with Mr. Rooter, Scott Hamilton, did all but one side which is located under a kitchen cabinet - now the pipe leaks so this register has been manually turned off.
I signed up for them to winterize my swamp cooler and service my furnace/boiler twice a year.
This year when I phoned for them to come out and turn heat on / close-up swamp cooler I was told they were booked for three months. I was directed to the manager Jason and they came out that next week because three months was unacceptable and my pipes would have frozen.
They sent many different technicians out, over a period of time, and finally Mr. Rooter's master plumber stated he would phone about completing the heat register. No call. Also, I noticed they did not try the boiler - see if heat was actually working. When the weather turned colder I noticed that both upstairs heat registers were not working. I phoned for them to come back and repair as it is about to snow with freezing temperatures. They scheduled, sent standard texts, and I waited the entire day for a call or technician to show up. Nobody did. I phoned four times to inquire; still nobody got back in touch. I am extremely concerned as this is the company I have trusted with my home - and I have two more years that I have paid for and need this residential service.
What I have experienced is the following: secretaries phoning multiple times to confirm appointments - however - no communication as to which technician is needed and now no shows.
I would NOT recommend this company to others. It is a headache. My best friend, in Longmont, called them on my recommendation this summer and they informed that she had a mainline leak, under her home, which would cost at least 10 grand. She phoned another local plumber and it was a clog!
We will see what happens today. I will phone one last time and give them an opportunity to fix mistakes. But I am not counting on a promising outcome at this point as I have left out several times when an unqualified technician has been sent to my home.

Our kitchen drain cot up again, so we gave Mr. Rooter a call because we had used them twice before. We were lucky to have same day appointment, in fact, they sent out a crew to our house in about 3 hours. That was the last of the good news. With this latest encounter, we would not use them again.
When Mr. J and Mr. R arrived at our house, Mr, J introduced Mr. R as his assistant, but in fact Mr. R was a trainee. After Mr. J look at our kitchen sink, he quoted $340 to unclot the drain using a cable. He also strongly recommended additional service of hydro jetting to completely clean the drain pipe for additionall charge of $360. He said if they need to replace any parts, there will be $320 charge. We almost ask them to leave because of these high price quote.. After we balk at the high price, Mr. J called the office and had the cableing price reduced to $250. We think the price was still on the high side, but it was late and we need the kitchen, so we let them do the cableing work.As soon as they start the work, I knew Mr. R was a newbie. Mr. J almost had to telk him every step of the work. Like remove a section of the drain pipe to insert the cable, put down some rags to soak up spill, etc. At one point, there was a large spill into the carbinet and on to the kitchen floor. Mr. J had to rush out to the truck to get the vaccaum cleaner to suck up the mess. Mr. J also asked the newbie to cable the driin the second time, slowly this time around, in order to clean up more gunk. While Mr. R cableing the drain, Mr. J went to the basement to look at the drain pipe. He said one the pipe hanger is loose causing the drain pipe hung at incorrect slope. He offered to fix this for $150, I declined the offer. After the drain was unclotted, we let a sinkful of water down the drain to test it out. We notice a small leak at the sink basket, and Mr. J offered to patch it up with some putty for $150 which we also declined. When we flip on the garbage disposer there was some water force out from the disk washer drain pipe. Mr. J said that was due to drain pipe not completely clean with just cableing. He again suggested we do the hydro jetting for just $200 more. At this point, I think he was just doing up
selling and pulling price out of the air. We decided not to spend any more money with this company.
After they left, I look up some info about hydro jetting. While hydro jetting seem to be a longer term solution to unclot a drain pipe, nothing I read said that I need to do cableing first to open up the drain then do hydro jetting to clean up more gunk. I wish they just offer me hydro jetting instead of trying double dipping. We are not happy to pay professional fee but
ending up with a newbie doing the job. We are also turn off by the aggressive up selling and high price. We would not call Mr. Rooter again for future work.
While on the yelp site writing this review, I saw the $99 special on the drain line cleaning, when I call the office for a price quote to unclot the my kitchen drain, they didn't mention this special price at all. Look like this company want to squeeze every penny out of you.
Ray H.Would give them -stars if i could. My bathtub faucet started to leak. Called them out, great customer service on the phone. Tim arrived two hours after they called and told me he'd be there within a half an hour. He looked at the faucet as well as the faucet downstairs and told me it would be almost $900. He took a-part of the shower upstairs in a matter of minutes and told me he did not have the parts but he could do a quick fix to get me through the weekend. He then sold me a warranty package never gave me any details on. Called to customer care within minutes of him leaving trying to get information on this package, again they were amazing. Left left several messages for the manager to call me back, I have called the manager half-dozen times finally spoke to him he said he'd call me back and never did. terrible awful service!! had another plumber come out the next weekend we placed all the washers for $25 in parts I'm glad I didn't pay almost $1,000 using these people.awfull!!!!!!
Horrible experience. They kept cancelling our appointment and pushing back the time. The next date we scheduled an appointment they never showed up. When I called to ask about it, they said I gave them the wrong phone number. (They had no trouble finding the number to call to postpone the earlier appointments.) No apologies, no attempt to fix the issue. Call them if you want to wait and wait with no results.
On 7/26 I called back Mr. Rooter and asked to speak to Scott's supervisor. The secretary refused and would only transfer me directly to Scott.
Scott apologized and said he would make sure that the job was done right by a real company.
On 7/31 a professional flooring company was sent out by Mr. Rooter to finally get the floor done.
They finished in an afternoon and it looks great.
Mr. Rooter never called to follow up after the job was complete.
KAte S.I would not recommend Mr.Rooter to anyone! I had some major sewer work done to my property, over $20,000 worth of work. The original work started over a year ago. They had to excavate my yard and did not backfill it properly. Every time I call to get it finished they say they will be out that week and never show or never call. They take forever, do not return calls and give you the run around. Save yourself the hassle and go with literally any other company.
London L.if i could give this place no stars i would.
i had an emergency kitchen faucet problem where it was leaking from the hot water and the faucet needed replaced, we tried to replace it but the nut on the plate was so bad it needed cut and since we didn't have the tools we needed a plumber asap as the leak was filling a bucket up fairly fast.
called Mr Rooter on Sunday to see if anyone could come out... no... so we had to make an appointment for Monday. so i had to basically wake up every hour to check and empty the bucket..
MR Rooter gives you a time range of i think 2-3 hours.. so i had to take off work
so i'm waiting around doing house stuff.. i get a call about an hour before they were supposed to get here with
"" we are running a little bit late.. we didnt want you to think we forgot about you so we're letting you know.""
this is fine. the patch work i did on the hot water seems to be holding so its okay if theyre a little late.
so then i get a call around 4:45pm/. ""yeah we're sorry but we're not going to make it out there today do you want to reschedule""
really? you wait til the last second where i cannot get another plumber in to let me know this? after i made an appointment the day before?
they don't care.. they just sat there wanting to know if i wanted to reschedule. meanwhile. i had to stay up all night AGAIN making sure this leak doesn't destroy something..
well i called another Plumber.. a local one.. and they took the call and was over within an hour... the work took them 20 minutes...
NEVER MR. ROOTER.. NEVER AGAIN.. and i advise you to never go here if you want a reliable plumber
Mother's Day and I had a leaking water heater! My husband set the appointment up, the guys from Mr. Rooter were on time and gave me a estimate. They were patient while my husband reviewed it. We had recently gotten a less expensive quote and they matched it. They worked all day, installed the two water heaters, were polite, hardworking and were up front about what exactly they were doing. I would highly recommend them as the service was the best.
Amy G.Don't waste your time. Their promotional rates are a scam and their customer service is incompetent. Were told one price on the phone (yes, they knew the access line was in the crawl space- it was the first thing we informed them of), and their tech on site gave a rate 3x higher...""because the access line is in the crawl space."" Told us they can't be held to account for anything their customer service says on the phone. ??? What kind of company does business like that? One with a two star rating, I guess.
