Corey H.They were quick to show up but poor on the follow through. They messed up about everything they could have from the moment they showed up to start the work. They didn't put down floor runners during the winter, they caused flooding by not having our neighbor stop water usage, they broke our gutter and didn't fix it, the left our yard a mess and didn't do part of the work they said they would. I will give them credit for fixing the issues, but it took me following up with a 12 item punch list. Not sure if this was a few bad apples or systemic organizational issue - I would say that the upper management did a good job settling the issues once brought to their attention.
Stay away from this company. We had an appointment. We sat around for hours, wasting and entire evening. Eventually some one came out and he did roto root our sewer line, pulling out a nice chunk of roots. I'm embarrassed to say how much this cost, but we could get a scope of the line.
With trepidation, another appointment was made. The next fella came out. He scoped the line and convinced us we needed to replace the pipe soon. If we act now they may not have to dig up the yard, though it would be necessary to dig up the street. Maybe 18k for the repair.
I am so glad we spent another $99 for a scope performed by a reputable company. Turns out, we only needed the clean out. The pipe was fine. It just hadn't been cleaned in fifteen years. We now know better and plan to have the sewer line cleared every couple of years. Just a good maintenance practice if you own a home.
Buyer beware! These guys sell repairs and line their pockets with your hard earned money. Get a second opinon!
TL;DR My main line replacement was a debacle that pretty much completely ignored the work plan and the contract. Anything that could be done wrong was. I wasted probably 12 hours over 3 days calling Mr Rooter and directly supervising the work, which is the only reason the specified work actually got done.
If you want the long version, read on.
I had a main sewer backup into my basement; fortunately it was nothing nasty, unfortunately the root cause was a very old damaged main line that needed to be replaced. Mr. Rooter came with a recommendation from my neighbor and was competitively priced. Jacob seemed very knowledgeable and I felt good going in. It all went downhill from there. The list of problems is remarkably long, but they mostly go back to Mr. Rooter not communicating with anyone.
* My job was scheduled for Presidents' Day, so they couldn't get an inspection. They decided just to send the crew home and do it on Tuesday, but no one called me. My husband wasted about 4 hours at home waiting for them.
* My line runs under my patio out back. We planned to do a 40' burst so that they wouldn't have to tear out any concrete. They tore out a 4x8' section of my patio.
*There were not supposed to be any cleanouts installed because they would be in the middle of my lawn. I now have two cleanouts right in the middle of my grass.
* They were supposed to replace the cast iron piping under my basement slab while it was torn out for the burst. I had to tell the crew that that was part of the contract and it pushed the job into a third day because they didn't know it needed done.
* When they did replace the cast iron, they almost didn't reconnect the drain line that connects to my washing machine and my kitchen. I caught that problem as they were starting to backfill the hole.
* It took four calls to their office over three days to get a copy of my inspection report.
Everything that could be done wrong was, nothing in the contract was adhered to unless I brought it up with the crew at my home. A job that was supposed to take one day took three, and I spent probably 12 hours over the course of the job on the phone with the company trying to get it all straightened out.
Friendly, professional, timely service. However, found out afterward that I was charged twice the going rate for my repair.
Jonathan S.AVOID this company at all costs!! They came to my house to fix a pipe but during the process the broke my elbow joint - they charged me $500 for a cheap and easy fix. Within 1 week the pipe broke again. Rather than doing the appropriate thing and fixing it for free they charged me 500 again!! The whole process was terrible. Employees are rude and incompetent! AVOID. THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!!
Kat C.Woke up on a Sunday morning to a water supply line showering water into our wall and basement....
Within 45 minutes of calling Mr. Rooter, David R. arrived at our door and was able to promptly diagnose and fix our pipe! He was highly skilled, polite, courteous, and most of all totally up front with any costs associated with the repair. Would highly recommend this company! Fair prices, and super fast response!
Austin S.2 stars because the job got done, but only 2 stars because of how it got done. Standard main line cleaning was needed. The job started off with a sales tactic. Concerns about the age of the home and probably a broken sewer line. That may be the case, but it was made without first snaking or scoping the line to get any insight into the issue. After I replied that it probably wasn't a broken pipe since it was filmed only a year earlier and the issue then was roots, the technician quoted $360 to snake and said they'd include scoping of the pipe to see if there were any issues. I declined the services, pointing out that $99 seemed like a standard price for snaking and filming and that i'd be going with someone else. The technician said they could do it at $99 no problem and was done snaking in 90 minutes. I wish I'd declined the services entirely.
Erik A.On October 8th, we experienced a minor plumbing issue with our toilet. It was draining too slowly to use properly. We contacted ""Mr Rooter"" that morning and the plumber was able to resolve the issue relatively quickly and for a decent $99.
Little more than a month later, in Nov 12th, we started to experience the same issue again. Since Mr Rooter was able to handle the issue quickly and efficiently before, I decided to give them another shot. However, this time was completely different. The plumber began to tell us that he would have to remove the toilet and use a completely different machine to fix the clog. Not only that, but this would cost exponentially more, about 500% more. I advised him that we had this same issue and the previous plumber was able to fix it without the extra hassle. The new plumber then proceeded to tell me that it was done incorrectly the last time and done with the wrong equipment??? He ""attempted"" to clear it with a quick 3 ft snake but that failed to work so I had no choice to but consent to the more expensive procedure for removing the toilet and letting him snake the full line. Once he did this, he confirmed there was no blockage, he did not find anything blocking the main line. So, he puts the toilet back on and attempts to flush it yet the water still is not going down as it should. He tries the quick 3 foot snake again and what do you know, the toilet starts to work. Same procedure that was done on Oct 8th for $99 now ended up costing $471 and took about 2 hours. Not the way I wanted to spend Saturday morning. It is clear they were just trying to sell a higher repair since the plumber had to come from Loveland. Needless to say, this is the last time I will use them and I would not advise anyone else to either.
Tim was courteous, professional and did a great job in a timely manner. The work was done at a reasonable price and he was able to get everything completed ahead of schedule. I appreciate everything that was done.
Maria Isabel G B.Mr Rooter came the same day and at the exact hour they told me. No waiting. Michael listened to what I had to say very politely and continued with the job very professionally. It was finished in 15 minutes. I am very happy.
