Duck started his own plumbing business, branding himself as Mr. Rooter. After discussions between Duck and Don Neighborly, The Neighborly Group took over Mr. Rooter Plumbing in 1989. Although Duck gave up the rights to the business and original franchises, he held on to his shop location in Oklahoma City. David Duck continues to be a franchise owner today.
