When Jon came to my home to give me a bid to winterize my home in Bigfork, he quoted a price of around $700 plus a bit more. I assumed the bit more would be for antifreeze. I live in San Diego on a teacher's retirement. I inherited a cabin from my dad who had enjoyed the property for 35 years. After returning to San Diego, John called me to let me know the cost for winterizing was $1637.00. I was gobsmacked. I should have cancelled the service right then, but my neighbor had come over to open the house, so I paid the amount. Upon further investigation, I learned that the going rate for winterizing a home in the Bigfork/Kalispell area is between $250 to $1000. My home in Bigfork is a small cabin. I assume the $1000 price tag would be for the large homes along the banks of the Flathead Lake. I would definitely look into a different plumbing company to winterize your home. It will say you a bundle.

The plumber was a nice man. But they never unclogged our sink and they still charged us $415 dollars for it. If they had to go under our place, they would've charged us in the thousands range. Had a friend come over and drained it within an hour. I won't recommend to anyone.

The last time I called for service this company was Murdock's Plumbing. I was happy to see Jon come to work on my problem as the last time he was here, I couldn't have been more pleased with his work, communication and pricing. He explained his new relationship with Mr. Rooter when I asked. The problem I'm having with my stove was not something Jon was equipped to work on, it is a problem that requires specific tooling and expertise with propane stoves. They are equipped to install the stoves, but the problem is a performance issue that is best handled by the manufacturer. When Jon realized what the problem was, he apologized that it was something they could not repair and didn't charge for coming out to my house. I would defiantly call Jon and his company for any plumbing issue that I have. Great company and people!

I've used this company three times in the past four years, from a broken water pipe under the house to a hot water tank that threatened to flood my garage. Each time, they responded promptly. Recently, Austin Lessley replaced my hot water heater, and he could not have been any more courteous and professional. Sometimes it's difficult to find truly reputable companies, but Mr. Rooter of Kalispell is certainly one that I can recommend without hesitation.

Quick, professional and efficient. While nobody wants to have repair bills the cost was reasonable and I as nice to have options. Jon and Max were
awesome!

We just had our 2nd great experience with this business. From scheduling, updates and communication, utmost professionalism from owners throughout the organization, and breadth of knowledge resulting in incredible value for the buck, can't say I've ever been so impressed as a long time home owner. Jon installed a clean out off our main line which was five-six feet under ground level just after passing foundation. His expertise is truly amazing as he saw potential hurdles before digging, clearly explained and after much work the T clean out was installed without the planter bed even showing it had been disturbed. They take great pride and truly enjoy their trade which is hard to find. Jon explained so much after the installation and camera view that I now can visualize with confidence how our system was built before buried. I highly recommend this ethical business.

I'm entering this comment specifically to counteract the Matt H. comment because this needs to be said.

Having screwed up a half dozen water heater element replacements I gave in and called a plumber. 4 or 5 of the most highly rated couldn't come in less than 5-7 days. Mr. Rooter came out in 4 counting 2 weekend days!

My call was managed by a very professional young lady who sent me a text confirmation and a reminder a day later of the name of the plumber.

On the day of repair I was sent another reminder and a phone call that he was running late. (Who does that anymore?)

I was sent a text showing me a picture of my plumber who was on his way!

The plumber that arrived at my door with a smile was.... Jon. The dastardly scoundrel in the other review.

Long story short, Jon was the most professional and friendly business individual I've ever had the opportunity to work with and even though the repair was way more than I wanted to have to pay, he showed me 4 different costs of repair and fully explained everything. He did a complete repair of my water heater including removal of scale build up that could have been 15 years or more, and both elements!

I want everyone to know that you get what you pay for with Jon Murdock and Mr. Rooter. You are, in fact, getting gold standard service!

I needed a couple of things, both interior and both in our mechanical room. First, a new water line from our water treatment system to a new humidifier installed on the opposing wall. Second, a sand filter installed between the pump and the treatment system.

Jon was great. He worked quickly and all work is clean and high quality. Both updates have been running now for a month with zero problems. Jon gave clear information on what he expected to do and what was done. He came recommended, so I didn't shop around. Even if their company comes at a higher price as other reviews here say, I'm happy to pay that if the work is problem-free. Not contesting the other reviews, just stating my tolerance for cost if the work is high quality.

In addition Jon has since answered a few questions I had related to our water system. With so much new construction going on in the area, I've found it tough to find plumbers who will take on smaller jobs. I'll be calling Jon for all of our plumbing work.

We are selling a property and these guys came out to give some estimates on work that was required from the inspection. They quoted $326 to put a high loop under a kitchen sink from a dishwasher. It ended up being a five dollar bracket to hold the hose and about 10 minutes of my time. Then they quoted over $467 to fix a leaky faucet. It ended up being a $.10 washer and another 10 minutes to swap it out. The person we dealt with was Jon. I don't know if we were getting special treatment but clearly they are absolute crooks out to take advantage of people that don't know any better. Some of the worst gouging I've ever seen somebody attempt. I hope this review can save another person from getting taken to the cleaners.
