He started his own plumbing company and chose the name Mr. Rooter. After discussions between Duck and Don Neighborly, The Neighborly Group purchased Mr. Rooter Plumbing in 1989. While Duck transferred the business rights and original franchises, he retained his shop location in Oklahoma City. Today, David Duck is still a franchise owner.
