Darlene R.ROONIE RICE is the worst plumber EVER.....made the problem WORST. Unprofessional, unskilled, poor customer service skills, and rude......very sad!
Worst plumbers ever. Don't waste your money. Fixed my tub, but unfortunately the leaking only got worse. Refused to help repair it. Blamed it on me. Left a giant hole in the ceiling.
CUSTOMER BEWARE!!
Mr. Rooter will make a lot of false promises then after they get you to pay for the $639 bill for a simple drain snake. They will not follow up with you on anything they promised!
I had a drain backup in my basement and called Mr. Rooter. They sent someone next day for an estimate. Before authorizing the service I was promised a 90 days warranty and that they would record a video of the main sewer line and send it to me. Those were the deciding factors for me in using Mr. Rooter.
Their so called plumber was a skinny young kid who could barely carry the machine on his own. I ended up having to help him carry it down to my basement and had to assist him through the entire process of sneaking the drain. He seemed to lack both experience and the proper equipment to get the job done.
At the end I asked about the video inspection and he told me that they would need to send someone else for that. He assured me that I would be contacted within 48 hours. I asked for a receipt and he told me that it would be emailed to me because they are a paperless company.
Fast forward 5 days, I still didn't have a receipt and none had contacted me for a video inspection. I called in and the people on the other end, one of them claiming to be the manager were extremely rude and full excuses.
I asked for a copy of my bill and he reluctantly emailed it to me. After taking a closer look I noticed it had two FORGED SGINATURES on the service agreement and it stated that there was only a 30 days warranty. I called them again and spoke with the rude manager once more and he told me that he would not honor the 90 warranty promised by his technician. I still don't have the video inspection that I paid for. My advice is to call ANYONE BUT MR. ROOTER.
Kat R.I want to give a shout out to the best service from Derrick and Nate. Both of them are very professional, honest and very very hard working technicians!! Great team work. They didn't give up until the problem solved. They worked non-stop without taking a break 6 hours straight for my business location. These 2 technicians will make the company have repeated customers. Thumbs up!
I contacted a few different plumbers to get estimates. Mr. Rooter was the 3rd estimate I got. Two techs showed up and I immediately got a bad vibe. I asked them in and the lead tech was very awkward and seemed shady. The second tech didnt say a word. I told them my kitchen sink needed to be snaked for a clog. The lead tech asked to take a look at my pipes in the basement. I'm thinking to myself what for?? He looks around, mumbles to himself, comes back into the kitchen, plays on his iPad then shows me an estimate for $600! Are you freaking kidding me?! Every other estimate was between $150-$300. I asked ""why so much?"". The guy looked surprised that I questioned him. These guys were super shady! I quickly showed them the door.
The last time 4 years back, I had a Pit and Sump Pump installed was in my old home in the crawl space. The contractor charged me $1200, which included extra charge for emergency service and extra for Crawl space. This time my new home has a large basement with plenty of open space. Mr.Rooter gave me a quote for $4588. This was the highest quote among seven other quotes. The cost of material less than $300 for the Sump Pump and the Pit and some Pipes. I finally had it done by another contractor for $1500. Mr. Rooter is a Rip-off .. I do not recommend anyone to hire them.
Danielle B.A friend of ours recommended Mr Rooter years ago and we used them for various things in the house including a new hot water heater and new boiler. After the new boiler was installed, we realized the house was always hot despite trying to turn the heat down on the thermostat. We called them several times. One time they missed the appointment and didn't show. Then they booked it again and when I called an hour past the appt time, they said no one put it on the schedule. When someone finally showed they claimed it was an electrical issue and we needed to call our electrician (who wanted nothing to do with it). We ended up calling a local HVAC company who told us Mr Rooter never hooked it up right AND they also didn't have it connected to the pump for circulating. So after hundreds of dollars in utility fees from the boiler going 24/7, this HVAC company fixed Mr Rooters mistake for $100. When we went to sell our house, we found out that the chimney attached to the boiler was never lined (nor were ever told it needed to be). Apparently, we could have died or killed our neighbors. When we called Mr Rooter to discuss this, they claimed that they are no longer owned by the same company, have no record of who we are, and take no responsibility. The ""Service Manager"" who knows nothing about service apparently, screamed at me over the phone while I was trying to talk. He would not let me get one word in and I had to hang up because he wouldn't even allow me two seconds of air to say bye. I now loathe Mr Rooter. Stay away.
Stew C.I went to roto rooter site and was directed to mr. rooter by mistake. Had a clogged line that needed to be taken care of so I told the wife to go ahead and bring them out. I work on a ship and at home I have the wife and our 2 little girls. They needed to be able to shower and flush the toilet ASAP. The kid that cam was a nice kid. The charge to snake out was 700 with a 50 off coupon. He told her what he was going to do and how much it would be. The wife thought it was odd when the kid got another service call and said he was going to kill time after the job so he didn't have to go on that one. When he finally left he didn't leave a receipt or discuss the warranty. When the wife called in the girl on the phone apologized and emailed one. No big deal. No leak test was done. When we saw the pipe leaked when flushing, we found a hole in the pipe. No big deal. She calls in and was told on the phone that she was explained to that these things happen in older pipes. Well she was not explained that, and when my wife said if you want to see the conversation we have cameras in our house and the conversation is on tape. She was then yelled at for recording conversation, and informed the pipe repair would be another 700, she said she shouldn't be accountable for that, and told by the guy on the phone that he will make her take him out to court. Well, I'm sure their calls are recorded, so we are pretty curious to see how this whole thing plays out. Long story short, I would not recommend this place even if you were in an emergency, just call anyone else. Hope corporate sees this review and relieves my email and responds expeditiously.
Cracked my sidewalk, left the yard in shambles. I would give them 0 stars if I could. Terrible company. Use BGE Home instead.
Excellent response (especially because I called Sunday morning). The technician arrived soon and on time. Snaked the drain to reveal some root material outside. I saved ~$150 (!) by removing the toilet beforehand.
The second technician arrived as promised to run the video snake, Unfortunately, the camera wasn't working properly, so we never saw the extent of the root intrusion - however, there are no trees nearby, only a few shrubs, so I think the 1st snake cleared it. Pros: quick, knowledgeable, courteous, photos of uniformed technicians sent in advance, email confirmations and paperwork. Cons: Pricing (although all drain cleaning services are too expensive imo - customers are usually in a bind with whatever plumbing issue they have), video equipment not working properly. Overall, very good outfit - I would use again.
