We had a leak in our bathroom that was seeping up through the tile and appeared to be coming from the toilet - so we were afraid we had sewage leaking into our bathroom. We called Mr. Rooter and after 2 visits and about 6 employees appearing to work very hard to see what was happening, they diagnosed pipes pulling apart in the middle of our slab - but they could fix it for $15,978.00. They pushed and pushed about how urgent this fix was, and actually asked my wife what was keeping us from signing a contract on the spot. She told them she needed to talk to me and I'm so grateful she did. We had some specialists in plumbing testing, video inspections, tunneling (which Mr. Rooter wanted to do), and plumbing rerouting. (Jose Sandoval with Sand Tech - 8368 Park Place, Houston 77017, 713-645-4824). The first thing they did was pull the toilet and discovered the wax seals were failing, leading to the seepage in the bathroom. They charged us $89, and the problem was resolved.

Morale - ALWAYS get a second opinion. It might save you $16,000!

Three visits for a malfunctioning water heater. Lied. Disconnected my controller. Said I misused my system.

Had an honest plumber diagnose. Mr. Rooter League City are unprofessional, unethical and liars! Don't call them for anything!

I'll start by saying the only positive thing I can say about our experience: the technician was nice and respectful. Everything else was downhill from there.

We requested a contractor through American Home Shield and they sent a technician from Mr. Rooter in League City. It was obvious early on that he was not very experienced and didn't know exactly what he was doing. As I was at work, my mother was there to open the house for him and explained that the slow, steady leak was coming out the bottom of the faucets where the washer connections met the pipe. He acted like he didn't believe her and eventually decided that he needed to cut into the wall because something he saw led him to believe there was water on the pipes inside the wall. So he cut a hole in our wall to see the pipes.

What he found was metal-looking droplets on the pipe. My mother explained that it was flux from when the pipes were connected (similar to when something is soldered), but he still didn't understand. So he called a more experienced plumber and this guy, who couldn't even see the situation, confirmed what my mom had said--that it was flux and nothing was wrong with the pipes in the wall. When the technician explained to the more experienced guy on the phone what we had reported, the experienced guy confirmed what my mother had also initially said: the water was likely coming from the faucet, not in the wall since there were no signs of an internal leak.

So he tightened the nuts and checked the connection, and wouldn't you know it fixed it! So he admitted to my mother that he had been wrong. When she asked about the hole, he said his company would contact the home warranty company and have them send someone out to patch the wall.

When I hadn't heard from anyone by the following Tuesday (three working days later), I checked the status online. AHS had closed the claim because they had been told that it had been fixed and no further work was needed. I had to call AHS, explain the situation, schedule another contractor to come out and patch the wall, and work with them to avoid another $75 service fee for a new claim because technically this was the same claim that the plumber hadn't properly reported. And after all of that, he didn't even clean up his mess. He left a collection of drywall pieces and dust all over the washer and floor that we had to clean up after he'd left.

Essentially, we got an inexperienced technician who didn't trust my mother, cut a hole in our wall for no reason, neglected to properly report the claim's completion to the warranty company, and left us a mess to clean up. We won't be using them again nor will we let AHS send them out for any plumbing issues in the future. I see that they're all over Houston, but we wouldn't recommend them to anyone who wanted a knowledgeable and professional plumber.

This company does not deserve to operate. I had a simple issue with a leaky toilet. I called my home warranty company who sent a representative from this company who diagnosed a problem with the flange and said it was not covered and gave me a estimate of $500 to repair. I called Lister Plumbing who said all that was needed was a new wax O ring (which would have been covered under the home warranty) He had it repaired in less than a 1/2 an hour at a fourth of the cost. Not sure why American Home Shield uses this company.
By the way I had to pay $75 for their service
I should have check their reviews

Highly would not recommend this company to fix your gas water heater, hopefully they are better with roto rooting and plumbing. They were third partied through our home warranty company "American Home Shield" because a licensed plumber has to work on gas. First time the plumber shows up to our house he gets the water heater in the attic to light, I couldn't I had been trying all day, and proceeds to tell me that it stopped working because we had a plastic tote too close to the water heater, it was 2-3' away. Kinda odd we had never had a problem in the past two years. Well about an hour after he left the water heater stopped working again. We contacted AHS to inform them the issue had not been fixed. Two days later the same guy comes back out a hour and a half later the the 1-5 window, keep in mind he knew there was a possibility that it could be the thermostat, igniter or something along those lines, the water heater is only 4 years old. He gets the water heater to light again and now he tells us we need to place a fan in the attic next to the water heater and blow on the water heater because it's to too hot in the attic. Once again we have not had a problem the last two summers with the water heater and heat in the attic. As he's leaving he tells me if the same issue happens again just shoot me a text and I will come by tomorrow and fix it because he stated it's a possibility that it could be the thermostat after we asked him if that's a possibly. Well I be damned a hour after he left water heater stops working. I text him and no reply. Next day comes around and I text him again and he replies with it's Sunday and supply store is closed. I go through AHS and report that issue is still not fixed. The following day Mr Rooter calls me on my way to work and says my appointment is between 1-5. 5pm rolls around and no one shows. I call the Mr Rooter office and their closed now but I guess there's someone on call and I give him the plumbers phone number that came out the first two times and he says he will calls me back after he speaks with the other plumber. I get a phone call from the plumber that had come out the first to times and we exchange words then he tells me "I need to listen and let him talk" well I imagine if he had to spray his kids off in the shower because there was not hot water for a week now for his kids to bath in he probably wouldn't want to listen and wouldn't want me to talk. Phone called end with me hanging up on him needless to say. Got a hotel room so my family and I could take warm showers and baths after a week.

This plumber came out and diagnosed that I had a power surge. I have no evidence of such. I hold them liable for me not getting my appliance fixed because of this. Also my receipt does not match his comment to my home warranty. I will never use this company again.

Larry was great

Came out to our home, diagnosed the issue, quoted a fair price, and then went on his way.

Larry provided good follow up customer service afterwards as well.

Would recommend their services

Bunch of crooks. Agree to pay a price.over the phone and they come to install and price doubles after its installed. They want to take it out after your refuse to pay the new price. Forced to pay the inflated price and despute with warranty company. Stay far away

They are a bunch of scam artists. Literally stole my money. They never came back to fix the problem after they said they were looking for the part. They never looked for the part. I know this because they would never give me the information for the part after calling multiple times and then wanted to install an entire new shower system which was $600. Do not use them. I already paid them $300 just to turn off the valve. They will steal your money. Lee Vargas was the associate and would not return phone calls.

Fast talking con artists! American Home Shield replacing the water heater, but Mr. Rooter wants me to pay $200 for water line reroute (has flex lines) $125 for gas line reroute ( has flex lines) $100 for new pan ($35 anywhere) $195 for League City permit ($35-$50 Tops) This company rips people off. Depending on the outcome and renegotiated costs I may change this.
