DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We should have read the other reviews before contacting their company.

Beware of their bait and switch. Their $59 special to unclog a drain turned into a $149 attempt which did not work. The guy used a broken snake tool. They then offered to replumb our drain line for $329. No way!

We ended up having another plumber come out. He used his snake tool and the clog was cleared. He only charged $50.

BTW - I called them three times and couldn't connect to the manager or owner. Only when I threatened to leave a poor review did the person answering the phone tell me the owner "just walked in." I spoke to the owner and explained the problem with his plumber. He told me he would check into the issue and get back to me. It has been two weeks and no response. Therefore, I am leaving this review.

If I could give no stars, I would. The experience was terrible. After multiple appointments and subsequent no-shows I ended up going with another company (Island Mann plumbing). Mr. rooter left me by my family with out water for 3 days and strung us along the whole time when we could have just gone with another company. Mr. Rooter was recommended by my home warranty company and it was the worst experience ever. I have never felt with a company that had so little regard for customers. Communication goes a long way and this company is horrible at it.

If I could give them zero stars I would. I called them out for a clogged drain. They came supposedly unclogged the drain. I paid them $150.00 and now a day later the problem persists and they have no appointments for days! Completely unacceptable. Refund my money of fix the issue.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. This company is like going to car dealership for repairs, They're Overpriced CROOKS and don't care if you use them or not because companies American Shield Warranty and the Brand name will generate business regardless.

1. Charged me for a permit that we didn't need (I followed up with my city permit department) $180

2. They wanted to charge me $225 for 6 feet of PVC pipe (that's $20 max)

3. They only schedule from 8-12pm (Monday - Friday) for repairs, but they will not leave their base until 815-830am. That still doesn't anything because you need to route list, if not cancel the second half of your day at work. (Now add those loss of wages to your already high bill, smh.)

4. it's about to be 2020 in a few months and they only take Cash, Money Order or Cashier Check. Yes no cards because if you don't like the work or just so happen to be SCAMMED LIKE I DID, you can't fight it with your bank.

If you're smart enough to read this review you're smart enough to do your homework before choosing just any company to enter your home. I hope on your journey to finding a trustworthy company, you won't get disrespected or scammed like this company did me. Good Luck and please know that Mr Rooter Should be a HARD PASS.

Tech came out spent 3 min looking at a water heater problem in my attic and told me I needed both water heaters replaced mine you they are fairly new water heaters. He left didn't provide any paperwork or next steps, told me he was going to another call nearby and will return. Nothing...I had my neighbor take a look and all it needed was the pilot lit. They are crooks!!!

Update: I received a call from the owner and he apologized for what happened in my situation and he was very professional. I 100% accepted his apology and he did make the situation right and I am satisfied with that outcome. Thank you.

Too bad I cannot leave zero starts.....If I can prevent just one person from calling Mr. Rooter, then I have done my job.

This company is a total rip off. They were recommended to me, so I gave them a call because we had water coming up in our entryway. To make a long story short, we were charged $1125 for approximately 2 hours of work, which expanded 2 days and 3 trips to my house because he didn't have the supplies needed the first time. You're a plumber, your truck should be stocked with supplies to fix a simple leaking pipe. The actually repair barely took an hour to fix.

And don't even try to call the manager Jacob....zero customer service. All he cared about was that I signed the paper. Yes, I signed the paper but I was still taken advantage of during an emergency situation but all he wanted was the money.

Please trust these reviews. You can clearly see how horrible the majority of them are and they don't even reply to any of them to try and explain themselves....that certainly says a lot. I have written up my entire experience with them and will be filing a complaint with the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners and with the corporate offices of Mr. Rooter. Nothing may come of it, but at least I know I have hopefully warned some of my neighbors to not call them.

So I had Mr. Rooter come out last week. The one guy was here for an hour and changed out a flange on my toilet and dug a 1' hole to put a cap on the sewage access pipe in the front yard. The billed me $800!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I called to complain and the woman told me "WELL YOU PAID IT." I called back and asked for the manager and he called finally today after I called 3 more times and preceded to tell me I should have been charged $1100!!!!!!!!!!!! @.@ If I could give them NO STARS I would.
If you use these people you are throwing your money away.

We had a leak in our bathroom that was seeping up through the tile and appeared to be coming from the toilet - so we were afraid we had sewage leaking into our bathroom. We called Mr. Rooter and after 2 visits and about 6 employees appearing to work very hard to see what was happening, they diagnosed pipes pulling apart in the middle of our slab - but they could fix it for $15,978.00. They pushed and pushed about how urgent this fix was, and actually asked my wife what was keeping us from signing a contract on the spot. She told them she needed to talk to me and I'm so grateful she did. We had some specialists in plumbing testing, video inspections, tunneling (which Mr. Rooter wanted to do), and plumbing rerouting. (Jose Sandoval with Sand Tech - 8368 Park Place, Houston 77017, 713-645-4824). The first thing they did was pull the toilet and discovered the wax seals were failing, leading to the seepage in the bathroom. They charged us $89, and the problem was resolved.

Morale - ALWAYS get a second opinion. It might save you $16,000!

Three visits for a malfunctioning water heater. Lied. Disconnected my controller. Said I misused my system.

Had an honest plumber diagnose. Mr. Rooter League City are unprofessional, unethical and liars! Don't call them for anything!

I'll start by saying the only positive thing I can say about our experience: the technician was nice and respectful. Everything else was downhill from there.

We requested a contractor through American Home Shield and they sent a technician from Mr. Rooter in League City. It was obvious early on that he was not very experienced and didn't know exactly what he was doing. As I was at work, my mother was there to open the house for him and explained that the slow, steady leak was coming out the bottom of the faucets where the washer connections met the pipe. He acted like he didn't believe her and eventually decided that he needed to cut into the wall because something he saw led him to believe there was water on the pipes inside the wall. So he cut a hole in our wall to see the pipes.

What he found was metal-looking droplets on the pipe. My mother explained that it was flux from when the pipes were connected (similar to when something is soldered), but he still didn't understand. So he called a more experienced plumber and this guy, who couldn't even see the situation, confirmed what my mom had said--that it was flux and nothing was wrong with the pipes in the wall. When the technician explained to the more experienced guy on the phone what we had reported, the experienced guy confirmed what my mother had also initially said: the water was likely coming from the faucet, not in the wall since there were no signs of an internal leak.

So he tightened the nuts and checked the connection, and wouldn't you know it fixed it! So he admitted to my mother that he had been wrong. When she asked about the hole, he said his company would contact the home warranty company and have them send someone out to patch the wall.

When I hadn't heard from anyone by the following Tuesday (three working days later), I checked the status online. AHS had closed the claim because they had been told that it had been fixed and no further work was needed. I had to call AHS, explain the situation, schedule another contractor to come out and patch the wall, and work with them to avoid another $75 service fee for a new claim because technically this was the same claim that the plumber hadn't properly reported. And after all of that, he didn't even clean up his mess. He left a collection of drywall pieces and dust all over the washer and floor that we had to clean up after he'd left.

Essentially, we got an inexperienced technician who didn't trust my mother, cut a hole in our wall for no reason, neglected to properly report the claim's completion to the warranty company, and left us a mess to clean up. We won't be using them again nor will we let AHS send them out for any plumbing issues in the future. I see that they're all over Houston, but we wouldn't recommend them to anyone who wanted a knowledgeable and professional plumber.
