We had a washing machine valve that would not close. We needed to close the valve so that a washer repair could take place. We have AHS for home warranty. Prior to contacting AHS, I tried to close the valve but cracked part of the wheel handle. Consequently, I stopped any further attempts at closing the valve. We contacted AHS and they assigned Mr. Rooter Plumbing, League City 77574 location, to close the valve. The Mr. Rooter tech Brent arrived on 2/21/2022, invoice #63427 (I have a copy of the invoice). He closed the valve and disconnected the appropriate washer hose(s) to verify valve closure. He said the valve was closed because he saw no water leakage. In his report and verbally he reported ordering parts to replace the valve. Approximately 2 days later, the laundry room floor was wet and continued to get wetter. We called AHS and said we wanted a 2nd opinion on the valve and the water leakage. On 2/26/2022, a 2nd plumbing company came to inspect. They found no issue with integrity of the valve (I replaced a $2.29 wheel handle); however, the 2nd tech found the hose(s) loose and dripping. The 2nd tech reported that the loose hose(s) from the 1st tech caused the water problem and reported that the loose hose leakage caused secondary damage to the floor (the tiles are now loose because of the water and the tiles and wood trim need to be replaced). AHS determined that I should now file a claim with my H/O insurance for the repair. I won't do that as the deductible will not be covered and my premiums will rise. Total incompetence by Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Galveston & Brazoria and he tried to get a $200+ valve repair authorized for a valve that had no issues. Beware and stay way! I have the reports to document the visits and events.

They came out to switch out the bathroom spread sink fixtures. They quoted $400.00....outrageous !!! Let's say the job took 2 hours (which would be almost impossible), that would mean they were charging $200.00 an hour for labor (I had already purchased the replacement fixtures).

They came out for a service call through AHS. Created an elaborate reason why it couldn't be covered by my warranty, and that I would need to pay them $650 to get it fixed. I should have gotten a 2nd opinion or at least looked at other reviews first. That was my first mistake. They came back, spent less than 40 minutes, 10 minutes of which they ran water to make sure the pipes didn't leak. So this crooked company thinks their labor is worth $1300 an hour. Seriously? This is apparently their MO, get their foot in the door, create a ridiculous problem and charge an even more ridiculous rate, and I fell for it. They have been reported to the BBB, and I will trash them on every review site I come across.

Zero stars if I could. DONT USE! Wanted $1500 to fix a problem that didn't exist. We have the best prices in town, we've lowered rates to help with Covid, so full of shit, literally! They are a complete joke! Guys should be ashamed of yourself, not good business!!!

Came to look at some pipes for low water pressure. Stayed 10 minutes tops and quoted me 22k and said every pipe needed to be replaced. Called another local plumber who fixed the issues in my faucets for $190. I will never do business with this company. Do not recommend. This is a sales company, they do not care about the people. They saw a young guy in his first house. Extremely unprofessional and unethical plumbers. Stay away at all costs.

Had an air conditioning issue on Sunday. A/c guy comes Monday, does his thing, causing Plumbing problem with a/c drain clogged, backing up two bathroom sinks. They call MR. Rooter and tell them it's an emergency. They say someone will come for this emergency the next day, Tuesday, between 8 and noon. Literally up all night to bail water out of sinks every two hours. Noon comes and goes. Plumber shows up at 12:40 says he needs authorization from warranty company, will be back later that day or first thing in the morning. I pleaded for him to come back ASAP because I have to keep bailing water to keep my bathroom from flooding. He says he doesn't think warranty will cover and quickly throws out a quote of $500 to repair. Of course he doesn't come back that day, doesn't call, doesn't come back next day, Wednesday. Im still bailing water every two hours-- all through the night. I call again and am begging them, telling them how much water Im dealing with. They say the soonest they can get someone out is now Friday! This is for what was called in to them by the A/C guy as an emergency, remember. So, now I'm still bailing water, turning the A/C off during the night for 5 hours so I can sleep without having to bail water. But it's Friday. He'll be here between 8 and noon. It's 12:30. Guess who hasn't showed up. I called. They say another hour. We'll see. And we haven't even had a chance to evaluate the quality of the work. But you won't need that information to give you a clue that you'll be better off calling someone else.

With the winterstorm & so many plumbers were extremely busy Mr. Rooter was able to accommodate me on an issue unrelated to the winterstorm. I had an broken sewer line that needed to be fixed asap. John & his crew came out & did an phenomenal job.
Although they had to partially dig some of the yard up. John ,Mr. Rooter & his crew did an amazing job repairing the broken pipe line in addition to putting my yard back together nicely. Not only was the work completed in satisfactory time the price was reasonable.
I would highly recommend Mr.Rooter for future plumbing services & will use them again for any future plumbing issues.

They are the absolute worst! Not because of rudeness or anything. One day I was told they were coming, waited all day and never showed.
(My shower was leaking water into the hall)
Came a different day FINALLY and after opening 2 wholes in the wall said that my problem wasn't covered because it wasn't wear and tear.
Quoted me 500$ to "fix it" because according to him he cold feel the whole on the pipe and had to change the entire thing. Told me a whole story how the house moved and broke the pipe.
TURNS OUT A DIFFERENT PLUMBER CAME AND JUST TIGHTENED THE SHOWER AND PROBLEM FIXED. THAT WAS IT!
2 holes in my wall for nothing. 0/5 nor recommend.
Even if AHS tells you to PLEASE don't. Now I have to pay someone to cover the holes that were made for no reason.

Andrew was very rude from the start. Came in telling me how American home shield lies and they want pay to have my faucet in. I told him they would that we had already set up the service and call thru them. He stated he was calling his boss. And left later while I'm watching tv he just walks right into my house no knocking or anything and told if you want your faucet put in today you will have to pay me $200 and when I said no we need to call someone his boss and American home shield he ran to his van and left. Be very careful.

The five stars are specifically for LEE, the plumber who came by today. While I haven't had the same experience with every one from Mr. Rooter, I will say that Lee's service was top notch. He was professional, thorough, friendly, and he took his time to explain what we were dealing with. While the news wasn't great, I appreciated his service a great deal. I wish all of Mr. Rooter's plumbers were like Lee.
