Mr. Rooter Plumbing was founded by David Duck in 1970, with its inaugural location in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Duck started his own plumbing business, adopting the name Mr. Rooter. In 1989, after talks with Don Neighborly, The Neighborly Group purchased Mr. Rooter Plumbing. While Duck transferred the rights to the business and its original franchises, he retained his shop location in Oklahoma City. Today, David Duck continues to be a franchise owner.
