Joseph O.I called Mr. rooter plumbing services of Dallas to check on the kitchen sink clog that my wife created with some quinoa. They came out and snaked the drain to no avail, so they scoped it and determined that there were leaf and root infiltrates in our cast-iron sewer pipe. Following this discovery they tried to price the job to repair it at $34,000. They did not provide me with a detailed breakdown of this estimate until I requested it a second time from the company itself. Not only were they trying to rake me over the coals thinking that I didn't know anything about plumbing, and that I would not get a second opinion, but they tried to sneak it past me in a very suspicious way by not providing a detailed breakdown of the costs. I ended up getting the job done for less than a third of their quote. I would avoid using this service at all costs, they don't deserve your business and will likely try and overcharge you.
Chuck B.First, when I called this company and when the tech arrived there was no mention in advance of a "10%" upcharge for fuel and time getting here.
Second, they were 35 minutes late and had no apology. He called me
Mr "Bossman" instead of calling me by my first or last name.
Third, they were wanting to charge me $700 to change out my kitchen sink faucet and I already had the new faucet here waiting. And, if I didn't have my own faucet, it would have been $1,200 + the 10% upcharge. When I pressed him, he stated he could lower it to $570 + 10% upcharge, (bit shady)
I told him, I did not agree to those charges and thanked him for his time (he was here 10 minutes)
Fourth, they charged me $74.95 + 10% just for being here for 10 minutes.
By the time I gave him $84+, it felt like highway robbery had taken place here in my own home.
Last. I want to emphasize, no blue-collar worker should spend their hard-earned money using Mr. Rooter for anything they offer to do. I get the times we are in, but I don't need to feel accosted and like I'm being robbed. So, I hired a local plumber (who has been in business since 1951) and they are doing the job for 1/4 of the price, which is fair.

Mercedes J.We had a strong smell of sewage in one of our bedrooms. Jorge was professional, friendly and diligent at finding the root causes of the problem and I will happily use Mr Rooter services again when needed.
Mr. Rooter is exactly what it means, you will be rooted after they are gone! Called them for a toilet clog, technician could not find the clean out, he suggested that he can remove the toilet and snake it from there. After he was done he presented me with the "Bill" that was an additional charge of 280$ to remove the toilet! Always get a written quote before anybody starts work on your home. Called and talked to Leah, quite the personality, she reminded me that I called them, basically my first mistake! I would not recomend this company since reading all the other reviews, wish I would have read this first.
The only plumber is town, on a Sunday before Memorial Day, willing to come out and service my plumbing issue. They freaking rock! Thank you @Matthew Gilberg!
Took advantage of senior citizens we requested a rooter for a backup. They insisted on sending a camera down the line. Costed $600. Didn't clean the line said it would just get caught again and wanted 3 grand to fix the pipe plus a membership with them. Beware.
Brandon L.Beware! These "good reviews" are fake! See their Yelp reviews and the Better Business Bureau before hiring these guys. They are a total scam! It cost me approximately $1000 for them to basically come out and break my toilet.
I called them on a Saturday evening as a toilet sewage was coming up from the drainage and going into the shower. I talked to an answering service that said it would be $90 for the plumber to come out, however they would apply the $90 towards whatever needs to be done to correct the issue. 2 hours later, I get a call stating that the answering service was wrong and that it is approximately $180. So, by that time it was too late and no other company was answering their phone. The plumber goes out to the property and calls me back after inspection and states to me that they don't get up on the roof for cleanouts as they needed to go thru the air stack to do the clean out. Therefore, he wanted to charge me $180 just to come out and tell me that. He then gave me a different option that would cost more expensive of removing the toilet and cleaning out the drain for a total of $780 for an hour (additional fees if longer than an hour). By that time, I had no option but to go with it because he was going to charge me $180 just to tell me that they didn't get up on the roof.
Now get this, approximately 20 mins later, the plumber calls me back and states he broke my toilet and that he would credit me approximately $100 for breaking my toilet (which ended up costing me an additional $300 to replace and install a new one).
Lastly, 3 days later, we start to have the same issues with the drain and had to call a different company to come out and do the job correctly. After the new company did the cleaning, I paid them to camera the drain to make sure that the only issue was a clogged pipe. It came back that the issue was a clogged pipe and that Mr. Rooter did not fix the issue.
So basically, it cost me almost $1,000 for Mr. Rooter to come out and break my toilet. You have been warned! This company is a complete scam!
Running toilet. Thought we had a leak somewhere. Brian at Mr. Rooter came out and in seconds discovered it was the flapper. How could that be? We had them all switched out last year by another company. Well, Brian was right. No more surging toilet. Thank you.
Thomas M.I called about 9 AM on a Monday morning and Armando arrived in 1 hour. Armando and Jacob completed an installation that I could not finish. They were very courteous, pleasant and efficient. I believe the cost was reasonable and will for sure remember them in the future. Thanks Armando.
Wish could I rated lower. Really overcharged me for fixing a broken pipe. I am new home owner and the tech named Ben really took advantage of that. Made everything sound more awful than it actually was. Price increase significantly too after the job was done and estimate was given. Charged me more than 3.6k for a valve box assembly and digging up less 2 feet of dirt. Then went on to tell me I have a massive root problem and try to convince me to clean out the pipes for more than 1k. Talked to other plumbers to confirm issues and prices and all came in at a much lower cost. I do not recommend at all.
