Called for an appointment and got one quickly. They would not provide a price even though the guy that came had a price book with fixed prices. $350 to run a camera through the drain. Originally he told me that it would be $500 but I told him I wouldn't pay more than $300. So he said he would do the camera work for free. He ran a camera through the drain and showed me some roots. Told me that it would cost extra ($250) to remove toilet and snake out the the roots. At this point it seemed like a big ripoff and I told him I would handle the clog myself. Lesson learned: Don't call someone on a workday after you just got up and try to solve the problem while you're still sleepy. If you know a good plumber just call them and pay their hourly rate to figure out whats wrong first and then proceed.

My experience with Mr. Rooter was terrible! I contacted Mr. Rooter Plumbing to fix what I considered minor repairs, mostly leaky faucets. I was shocked when the plumber from Mr. Rooter told me that the bill would be $1,113.69. I was recently divorced and my former husband had done the repairs around our home and so I was unaccustomed to plumbers' charges. Even though the estimate seemed really high, I had nothing to compare it with. The plumber told me that he would be working at my home most of the day doing the repairs. I was surprised that the repairs would take that long. He went out to get supplies and when he returned, he was at my home only about one hour doing the repairs. Once I talked to friends and other plumbers, I realized that I had been grossly overcharged. I contacted the manager three times to express my displeasure. He was never available to take my calls and never returned my calls. My advice is to avoid Mr. Rooter!

A much deserved review. I recently had Mr Rooter come to my business to resolve a plumbing problem and while I did have some issues with the tech that was dispatched a phone call to the office and the help of the manager Leah who personally handled it had it quickly resolved ABOVE and BEYOND my expectations! It's hard enough to find a plumber you trust but one that will not only take care of during the issue... but afterwards when they already have your money!! These guys are A+ in my book and I wouldn't think twice about calling them back because they stand by their commitment to customer service! Never had a service/construction problem resolved that fast or in that manner. Was pleasantly surprised and very pleased with the personal attention.

Sunday 11 AM, Oct. 23, 2016. Leaving for vacation tomorrow and have children and grand children coming to the house this afternoon to carve pumpkins - an annual activity. Our washing machine started pumping water on to the floor. These kind of things never happen at a convenient time - it always creates a crisis. My daughter recommended Mr. Rooter - she had used them before. I called the number listed on the website and within 5 minutes Paula called me back. She scheduled a plumber for within 2 hours. 10 minutes later she called me back and said that she could have someone there within 45 minutes - was that okay? Heck yeah! Armando C, showed up right on time. He was well dressed, clean and his truck was also very clean. He came in, performed an inspection and told me how much it would cost before her started...oh and also told me that if I didn't want him to do it, there would be no charge. About an hour later the job was complete. He cleaned up the mess from the flooding in my utility room and left it cleaner than it was when he got here. Armando, also inspected my hot water heaters, which are both 12 years old, and gave me information about options and what to expect from heaters that old. I'm happy and give Mr. Rooter 5 stars! Their price was fair - did not charge overtime for a Sunday service call. The were on time and very friendly. They will definitely get the call for my next plumbing need.

I contacted Mr. Rooter to perform a simple drain cleaning, accessible through a proper 4" clean out located at the front of the house. The technician spent most of his time attempting to convince me that I needed a full below grade/under house sewer line replacement and would be more than happy to provide me with an estimate. With the aid of his sewer line camera, we had a visual on the stoppage (toilet paper) but he was unable to push through or clear this stoppage since it was proving too difficult for the sewer snake. I stated that if he were to utilize an auger bit on the end of the snake, that it would probably cut through the stoppage - in other words, he was not using a cutting bit on the end of the sewer snake! His reasoning for the lack of bit was Trump like. Needless to say, I offered not to entertain acceptance of his estimate to replace my underground lines. An alternate plumbing contractor cleared the stoppage on Monday - they used all the same equipment as Mr. Rooter to include camera and sewer snake - with the important addition of a cutting bit on the end of the snake - and no ridiculous offer of replacing the existing sewer system. I highly recommend Dan's Plumbing at 972-285-0753

First, they don't schedule appointments - claiming it's too difficult to predict how long a service call will take, but will call when they are on their way "so you don't have to wait around all day." Oh, and if they can't get to your location by 5- they won't show up- or call-or anything. You get rolled over to the next day, but it's no promise they will get to your location. Friday morning I was next on the list with arrival time around 10:30 or 11. At 1:30 I called..."looks like it will be later. 5pm-nothing. I called- they have us down for Saturday "sometime after 7:30 am". 3:52 pm and I just called to have them take me off their route. Worse customer service ever.

7/27/16-Update in reply to response: Leah- are you just now responding - I wrote this months ago?? No, no mistake - I live in Plano and may have been in Bossier City when I wrote/posted review. There is nothing further to discuss- my issue was diagnosed and fixed by another company.

Our garbage disposal has been acting a little funny and finally on Saturday (about five hours before my in laws were to arrive for dinner) it stopped working completely. Water backed up into the sink- the whole nine yards. We have a home warranty, so naturally we called them first and their plumber said the soonest someone could come out would be Tuesday. Knowing we would be cooking and would need to use the kitchen sink, there was no way that would work. I called Mr. Rooter around 9:15am. Salvador arrived right around 10:00am. The issue was fixed and we were good to go by 10:40- less than an hour and half from the time I called!! I was floored. It was honestly one of the best experiences with a home service contractor that I've ever had.

My daughter had a very expensive plumping bill from these people.
Bill was about 5 times the average cost for unstopping a toilet (over 600 dollars).

When she called their office to ask a few questions she got the why are you calling
us you idiot. Really, really bad and expensive event.

I called about a simple back-up/clogged toilet and shower in the main bathroom. I expected an average price of $150-200, which in my experience with plumbers is normal. Regardless of price, which it ended up being 5 times that, the technician told me there were no clean-outs located outside my home so the toilet would have to be pulled, a camera inserted to see where the clog was located and then insert the cable to remove the clog. All of these are separate costs. I trusted what they told me and agreed to all but the camera, which seemed unnecessary. The job was done (leaving a mess around the pulled toilet and scrapes on my brand new tile). Later, we discovered there is in fact a very visible clean-out pipe in the front of the house. I called Mr. Rooter to inquire why the toilet was pulled and the clean-out ignored. I received the double talk/run-around and even some belligerence from the representative. He was condescending and unhelpful to say the least. I didn't necessarily want a refund, but an explanation as to why the clean-out was not used or at least presented to me as an option. He kept up with the double-talk, disrespect and no solution. Therefore, I would recommend using anyone other than Mr. Rooter. They clearly do not care about costumer service once they have your money.
