Mr. Rooter was quick to come out and perform the service needed. Dan was trustworthy, on-time, thorough and a good communicator. After Mr. Rooter performed the needed service, we learned that we will need an expensive repair in our basement and we will not be using Mr. Rooter as they are much more expensive vs. some of their competition (But I definitely would've used them for other projects). Since they performed the service, I had some follow up questions regarding their recommendation and have called the main office three times and asked for a call back from any of their experts. Unfortunately they have chosen not to call me back and I can only assume that it is because they have finished the current job. Very shortsighted.
Brad L.tunately my father's toilet had cracked and after I turned off the main water valve, I had called many people. It was very frustrating, but then I called Mr. Rooter in Schaumburg and they sent out Wade Carlson and said he would be about an hour. He was actually there in under a half an hour. He was very courteous with my elderly father and after his assessment, he gave us a spot on estimate including a senior discount for him. Of course, that made my father very happy. I felt very comfortable with Wade being there to do work at my father's house so I had left to go back to work. About a couple hours later I received a phone call from my father telling me he had taken the old toilet out, installed the new toilet, and installed a new angle shut off valve. He also helped my father with putting the riser seat that he needs due to his condition on the new toilet to see if that was a good for him. They were so great from the time I called to tell them our problem, to the time I received a follow up call to see how everything went. If more service companies followed this model, it would be a great world. Btw, my father was worried about and ugly toilet sitting on the curb until garbage day, but Wade told me he would take it away for us. I really couldn't say enough positive things about my experience. I now put their phone number in my phone and will not hesitate to call if I need anything regarding plumbing. Five star all the way!
After being 4 hours late even though i was technically ""next and on there way"" they came into my home where my water heater tank was not running well, took one look at it (without touching anything) and told me i needed to replace the entire thing and that it was my blower that was not working. ( you could hear it running/working). They quated $2100 for a new 40 gallon tank... What?!?! I went to my plumber friend who immiadiatly after a simple inspection told me it was only a couple sensors that needed replaceing. I spent $47 and its been working like brand new since. Mr rooter absolutely pissed me off with there scam.
We hired Mr. Rooter to unclog our basement drains. The whole experience was horrible. The first guy came and barely even looked at our issue before pronouncing that we had a major issue. They came back the next day and did the first part of the job. Next thing we know they say our sewer is collapsed and we will need to replace it at $137 a foot. A week later, when they were scheduled to do the work the head guy, Miguel, was at ""an emergency plumbers conference"" out of town. Nobody bothered to call and tell us that our scheduled work would be postponed. We found this out when we called them. At this point we had scheduled someone to take the day off of work for no reason. When they finally did show up, over a week later, Miguel wasn't even there. So why couldn't they do the work while he was away? A month later, we still had a grave sized hole in our front yard. Finally they came and finished the work, but it took two more visits to get it all running properly. At this point they tried to tell us something separate was wrong AND offered to put in an illegal access. They never gave us an itemized breakdown of the work, and are now threatening legal action when we ask for this before we pay. We HIGHLY recommend finding someone else to do your plumbing work!
This is an awesome company. Very polite and professional. Actually used them in Michigan as well and had the same great experience. They call you back right away and always let you know the status of your appointment. We have a 3 year contract with them and highly recommend signing up for it since you will be a priority customer. Paul was excellent and walked through my house checking everything while he was here. Great experience.
This is the second time I used this contractor and I will use them again. The first time they installed a sum pump at my Mount Prospect property. Four and a half years later, the pump became defective and they replaced it on 1/12. They are reasonable, knowledgeable, and customer oriented. I highly recommend them.
Kelly B.We hired Mr Rooter to replace 3 toilets. To be fair, we told them we wanted powerful toilets. Well, that's what they gave us - they were LOUD. I called the company about a week later to complain and they came out to replace them without any argument - in fact, they apologized (!). The guys who came out were very professional and did a very nice job. Next time, I'll just be a little more clear about what I actually want :)
I had kitchen sink water drainage problem January 14th, as I am a Mr. Rooter advantage member and paid for 3 year membership fee last year. It was my first call to Mr. Rooter on January 14th and needed help for kitchen sink water drainage. Lady her name is Michelle K. said we are very busy however I will schedule some one after 3:00pm, she scheduled the appointment and I got the call around 1:00pm from Mr. Rooter saying that we are busy and can not come at 3:00pm, I said I am home and you can send your technician any time. Finally Dan from Mr. Rooter came in 5:30pm and started work, he said we do need roding and it will cost you around $300 as a advantage member you will pay $250.00 I said Ok then do it. He cleaned the pipe and did the roding, but the water did not drain and he said now we need small jetting machine and it will cost you $650 and I will get it tomorrow. He came back next day 01/15/14 with the small Jet machine which did not even start due to weather. He said OK will come back tomorrow again with the big Hydro Scrub machine and it will solve your drainage problem and I will charge you for small Jet machine. Next day 01/16/14 he came with the large Hydro Jet machine and tried to push the pipe line water and did not pass 8 feet hydro scrub nozzle. He called his manager Mogul and informed me that we need camera inspection and we charge $250.00. I said why you did not use the camera inspection before jetting? he asked me to pay what ever work he has done which was incomplete, I said if your work is done I will be more than happy to pay the all charges but noting is done in 4 days and you are asking me to pay $743.21? He called Mogul (Camera Inspection specialist) and Mogul talked to me saying Dan needs to close his work order so pay him and I will come tomorrow with the camera and will take care of it. I gave him my credit card and Dan charged $743.21. Next day Mogul came with the camera and checked the line and said your line may be broken, and we need to open your basement (I have furnished basement) floor and check. He said I will talk to my manger and he'll give you the good estimate. From 01/16/14 till 02/05/14 I left many messages to Mogul finally he picked up the phone and said I was off and I will call my manager right now and he'll call you before end of the day. End of the day never come.
Last week Michelle from Schaumburg office called and said we don't know your estimate but I think it will be between $10,000 - $15.000. I was surprised and said Mogul told me around $4000. She said he'll send you estimate once he gets chance. Michelle was very busy and she kept putting me on hold because getting other phone call. I was upset and said I am at work and I can not be on hold for 10-15 minutes, I asked her to call me once she has more time she yes I will and that time never come yet.
I am completely dissatisfy and Unhappy with Mr. Rooter service and its over 9 weeks my kitchen drainage problem never fixed. I am thinking to call Consumer Service Department and file a complain against Mr. Rooter, I will not recommend anyone to Mr. Rooter plumbing, they charge extra and ask customers to get more service. They are not reliable and dishonest.
I needed a simple 50 gallon gas water heater replaced. The gentleman who came to my house did not put anything over his dirty shoes (as their ad proclaims). He walked into my house and started naming off things I needed replaced. He informed me because I have a sprinkler system,(which I don't), something else had to be replaced. I was quoted $2,000 to replace the tank. Above all, his demeanor was haughty and quite rude. It was a complete waste of a busy mom's time to receive this quote. So disappointed! I received three other quotes around $750-800 for same work. What disgusts me the most, is that in this day and age, it's hard to find honest companies. I will gladly return my business to a reasonable, honest company. I would not recommend Mr. Rooter to anyone. You don't have to overcharge for quality work. You can still receive quality work at a decent price.....and those are the companies that people will call to come back....repeatedly....and those are the companies that are referred to friends and family. So disappointed.
Quinn D.Mr. Rooter is usually a pretty professional company, but the plumbers that they sent out to us, was FAR from professional. We paid him $380 for a simple rod-out, in which that he ensured us that there was a 30-day warranty. When we asked him to come out because there was more flooding, he dodged phone calls. He didn't respond to phone calls until, I phoned Mr. Rooter personally! David not only stood us up after this call, once, but three times. When he arrived he didn't come prepared, but he stated that he only came out as a ""favor to my mother"", which in itself is untrue, he owed us a 30-day warranty and it had only been 3-weeks since his first appointment. I will never use their services again; for rental or personal properties. If anyone else has a problem with Mr. Rooter's technicians, here is the corporate number 254-537-0771.
