Flashback:

A few years ago, I needed my septic pumped. I called Mr. Rooter. They came out pretty quickly, investigated, and informed me that my drain field was ""saturated"" and would require extensive work to make my septic function correctly. $$$

When they left, my neighbor (who was on our local water board) said, ""Did they tell you that your drain field was saturated?"" When I confirmed, he said that they're notorious for this scam. I called another service who said my field was fine and pumped without incident. Everything worked great until we moved a few years later.

Fast forward:

Our water heater sprung a leak and flooded part of our basement. Wife called Mr. Rooter and several other plumbing outfits. Rooter was first to respond. They came quickly, were very polite and helpful, and charged over $400 for a quick band-aid (temporary) fix. They then provided an estimate for work to replace our water heating system and ""bring it up to code."" Because of my past experience with them, I told my wife to get a second estimate from someone else. That estimate was LESS THAN HALF of Mr. Rooter.

Nutshell:

Not sure what kind of work these guys do, but if you don't get an estimate from another provider, you're likely getting soaked.

Zero Stars!!! AVOID completely. Do no use this company. The day after thanksgiving my parents main sewer line plugged. Mr. Rooter would not start until we signed papers at twice what other company charged to fix line. Did not unclog the line and left elderly couple without water for 3 days. They 'lost' the snake and it ended up inside another toilet in the house. The quote to repair was $2800 or $12,000. This company is very unprofessional and when confronted were very confrontational and beligerent. On Monday I called Drains Plus to go to the house and it was cleared in 45 minutes $175. DRAINS PLUS!!!

Barb is my new favorite person in Idaho! I had a plumbing emergency that I needed to get figured out and had gone through a whole list of plumbers who did not answer the phone. I finally got to speak to a live person and it was Barb. In my ""mental breakdown state"" she talked with me and though couldn't help me fix the problem or get a Mr. Rooter plumber out, she helped me find someone that could. THAT right there is customer service! And because of that, I'll be calling Mr. Rooter for every issue I have!

Hi, so it is Jan 14, 2021 and I wanted to update this review because of two OUTSTANDING PLUMBERS named Mark Fairbanks and Dan Gosnell. These two gentlemen were so kind, helpful, professional, and hard working. They came out to our house at 8 AM on Jan 13, 2021 --the day of the horrendous wind storm when their office was in chaos because of power outages--to put in our new water heater. They were very quick and did excellent work. We now have hot water again!!! They cared about us, not just as customers, but as two single ladies who needed help. They went out of their way to make a very stressful situation easier. They were very kind and warm. My mom and I have used this company for many years and every plumber they have ever sent to our house has been wonderful and done excellent work. These two men deserve special recognition though because they had to coordinate with 2 other teams of work men and it meant they ended up coming to our house more than once, which must have been hard given their very busy schedule. I would give them, and Mr. Rooter Plumbing, 10 stars if I could. EXCELLENT customer service.

Our bathroom sink was leaking due to the age of the house, and Mr. Rooter took care of the leak with-in 45 minutes. A great job!

I was impressed and amazed that they could send someone out so quickly! The company I was going to go with were SO bad at communication, I wasted a ton of valuable time and these guys came to my rescue. They were very polite and were in and out in a jiffy. They were actually recommended to me through someone else whom also had a great experience. Don't hesitate to try them out!

We had a pipe collapse that caused sewage to back up into our house. A friend suggested we call Mr. Rooter and I am so HAPPY I did! Chris and Dan were so professional. They explained the problem, how they could fix it; and gave us the name of an amazing restoration company. These guys are the best. So kind and informative. They really do a first class job without gouging you. We will call them again for any plumbing need!!

I'm glad Paul and Gunder were able to get out to my rental and take care of my clogged up sewer drain. They were on time and professional at all times. Paul call me to let me know what needed to be done and worked with my tenant while I was able to stay at my office and work.

Called these guys to do a simple anode replacement in a hot water heater. Anode was easily accessible on the top of the tank. Hot water heater was in the 5' tall crawl space. Stairs to the crawl space. On arrival I was informed they would charge a minimum of $350. I sent him away. Had another guy come out and 15 minutes later it's done. $40. Won't call these guys again.

I had an emergency septic backup around 6:30 AM that flooded my basement and they were there Likity Split!
Tory was the best Ever and his crew was too.He was there in the freezing weather..dealing with the septic no less and was outside almost all day!!!) .He installed a new pump and fixed everything that came his way...with a smile on his face too. He knows what he is doing and has a Lot of patience and is so courteous! I enjoyed working with him and all that came over to help and will always keep this number in case I ever need plumbing help.Hopefully it wont be too soon!
