Rena O.Called on a Saturday to set up and appointment to have my garbage disposal services as it stopped working. I was shocked when they said they had an appointment later that morning. I loved that they sent me an email with a picture of the plumber before he came and called to let me know when he was on his way. Mike was fantastic and tried to fix it but In the end, we had to replace it. It was done in no time and was happy about the price. Next time I need a plumber I'll call Mr Rooter!
I had 2 appointments in one week for a simple hot water heater estimate. Both days was given a 2 hour appointment window and no one showed up. I called them both days and they apologize and said someone was going to come sometime. I cancelled appointment the 2nd time this happen.
This company should give the customer a courtesy call by letting them know if they are running late
Paid them $900 a week ago to come out and install a garbage disposal. Within a couple of days, water in the drain started backing up; if I turned on the disposal, it would spit up water. (The only thing I put down it was strawberry tops.) Within a week I had four inches of standing water in my sink. Same guy came out, insisted it was a problem with my pipes, wanted to charge me for snaking them out. I've lived here 22 years, never had a problem with the kitchen sink. I told him I wasn't a big believer in coincidences, and I wasn't going to pay him to fix a problem he'd created. He said, ""Talk to my manager,"" and walked out. Left four messages for the manager, never heard back from him. Terrible people to do business with. Wish I'd seen the other 1-star ratings here before I hired them.
Mr. Rooter did some work for my elderly parents, including a new sink install. When I saw the bill, I was shocked to see they charged them over $900 to install a basic Home Depot sink. I called the company, and was told a manager would call me the next morning to discuss. Nobody called me, so a few days later I tried again. I had to wait another couple days after that before a manager called. I explained the situation and he claimed the price for the sink was accurate. I asked if he could provide an approximate breakdown of cost for the sink versus labor, and he refused. I asked for the make/model of the sink installed and he said he didn't have that info in front of him. I asked if he could get it and email it to me the next day, and he said yes.
He never emailed me, so the next week I had to call yet again. When I finally got the manager back on the phone, he still refused to provide a price breakdown and claimed he had no way to know what sink they installed, but that they reviewed it and determined they 'accidentally' overcharged my parents $300. No apology, no explanation - like it was no big deal to wildly overcharge an elderly couple who didn't know any better. I would NEVER use them again, and strongly suggest nobody else does either.
Back injury forces me to not do everything I want to do. I had 2 shut off valves that started to seep and wanted them replaced. I also had a 90 degree fitting from 3/4 - 1/2 needing replaced. All items visible and nothing in the way. I had the 2 valves and 6 unions and 6' of 1/2"" copper, torch, solder and flux. They quoted me over $400 and that was a discounted price. I purchased all the items a month ago right before my injury. The tech was a nice guy and I could tell he was interested in job, but looked discouraged prior to giving me price. I spent $37 on material and this took me about an hour to complete with my messed up back. Be careful who you choose, I told the tech that I called them because I met one of the employees and he seemed genuine, I also told him I never hire anyone bcuz most are way overpriced, overrated and very shady.. I muddled through the pain and saved $374. No Cool and not good business. Even the tech said that he understood and hears a lot that they are a lot higher priced than others.
MR ROOTER TRIES TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOUNG FAMILIES IN WILLOWICK.
My husband and I had food and water backing up in our basement when running the dish washer and using our kitchen sink. We called Mr. Rooter last Sunday for a free estimate and were told we needed a new sewer line replacement. After being convinced that they needed to snake and jet our main line that day we were told if it happens again we need to immediately have our main line replaced or it could end up collapsing. Last night we figured out ourselves that it was not the main sewer line that was backing up like Mr. Rooter tried to convince us but the piping in our kitchen that had a clog. After dinner I ran our dish washer and noticed water again coming up in our basement, my husband and I agreed that this did not make sense, since Mr. Rooter had just snaked and jetted where they said the issue was coming from 4 days prior. We tested our toilets, shower and bathroom sinks and were not experiencing this issue. I called Mr. Rooter again last night and said I felt we were being taken advantage of and they were not being honest. A different supervisor was sent out to our house and agreed it was not the main line that was causing our problem but grease in our kitchen pipe. If we were given accurate information and not scared into having our main line jetted this is something we could have handled ourselves. Instead were robbed by Mr. Rooter and paid just under $1000 to ""fix"" what we were convinced was a much bigger issue.
Bill Spreitzer was sent to our house before anything was looked at. I later found out that Bill reports directly to Steve Kelly who is the Excavation Specialist for Mr. Rooter. Before anything was looked at Mr. Rooter decided they wanted to sell my family a $7,000 new main sewer line and dig out our front yard instead of being an honest company and finding the real issue we were experiencing. When we expressed concern about affording such a big unexpected expensive Bill gave us his spiel on their financing program. Bill and a technician were at our home for hours pushing and convincing us we had this huge expense coming up. Instead of testing the pipes and checking our kitchen like professionals should, Bill wrote in our notes that we were having a problem when running our clothes washer, which is not true. We even laughed about our dog trying to snack on the food coming up in the basement. I'm not sure about anyone else but I do not keep food in our washer and dryer.
It is well known that houses in the Willowick area have clay pipes and were built in the 50's. Of course there will be some cracking, this does not mean they need replaced immediately or that it is causing a problem in your home. Mr. Rooter targets young families who they think do not know better and uses this as a business strategy to get as much money out of you as they can. They try to take advantage of our community by scaring their customer into thinking they need a new sewer line. Bill told us after we were convinced that we needed to have our main line snaked and jetted that if it backed up again we needed to have it replaced quickly because it could collapse. Of course Mr. Rooter knew it would back up again because they did not fix the real problem in the first place. Do not let this company lie and take advantage of your family like that did ours.
Sharon G.They were very nice - waited several hours for them to arrive - but was told they were too busy and would have to wait until the next day even though I had sewage backed up all over my basement floor. They were very friendly and nice - but the price kept rising - $500 - to $900 - to close to $1000 when they finished their 2 hours of work! I spent $1,000 to clear the drain and have them run their camera down the line that day, and then they told me the pipe had collapsed and would cost $5,000 to fix and another $1,500 to repair the landscaping damage. Seriously - $7,500! I've gotten other bids for this work and have contracted with another local company at a total cost of $1,650 to fix. All of the other bids I got were way below Mr. Rooter's quote. I will NEVER use Mr. Rooter again and was very disappointed with their prices. They are WAY too expensive - Please shop around!!!
Amanda J.The experience started off good, I was offered same day service within a few hours. Was given a 2 hour window, between 4 and 6. Received my first call at 5 letting me know they were running late. Received another call at 6 letting me know they were still running late but didn't forget about me. Called again at 720 saying the same thing, I asked how lated they worked and he stated 9. Called back less than 10 minutes later and said someone was on there way and would be there in 30 minutes. 80 minutes later at 850pm someone arrived. He seemed annoyed to be there, which I don't blame him, I don't as annoyed he was there that late. They should have done everyone a favor and offered to reschedule first thing in the morning.
We had a 10:00 am - 12:00 pm appointment with a plumber on 7/11/19. We received a call from the office that the plumber was behind but will still come later. Several hrs later the office called again to say plumber will not be able to make it and asked if we could reschedule tomorrow 1:00. We said yes. So the next day since we had time in the morning, we went grocery shopping. Came home at 12:00 pm, there was a phone message from the office that plumber was at the house about 10:30 am and no one was there. We called office back explaining the appointment was at 1:00. Rep said since we missed the plumber, we would have to reschedule again next week. It was not 1:00 yet and that was our scheduled appointment. Rep said we had to reschedule. We asked to speak to mgr & he said same thing. So we waited most of the 1st day with no plumber and the 2nd day the plumber came at an earlier time than the scheduled appointment. Even though there was still time, they would not send him back at the scheduled appointment. We cancelled Mr Plumber and will find someone else.
They came out to fix my ceiling and they put MY hand towel in MY trash can. Now not only do I have a leak in my ceiling, I also have to wash my hand towel. This throws an unnecessary inconvenience in my day because they are taking so long to fix the leak I don't even have water to wash my hand towel.
