Great, at first.... job changed three times going up and down in extensiveness and price. That I would try to understand but when it went up over $12,800, I scrambled to pull the new final payment together. $4500 more than the original estimate. A young man showed up, without calling first, and harassed my 74 year old disabled husband for the payment despite working ONLY with me the entire time. He wouldn't wait for me to come home from a doctors appointment. My husbands card was declined, the young man insisted he write a check...both drawing from an account with less than the amount demanded. I took care of it asap but no apology was offered to my husband. I will never call Roto Rooter again.
Worst customer service I have ever dealt with... Also require payment up front before they will even come look at your problem.
Becky H.I went down into our garage on Friday noon, January 22, to find the sewer line to the street had backed up and drainage water was seeping up through the pipe into our garage- YUCK! I am giving the date because the East Coast ""Storm of the Century"" Snowzilla storm was predicted to start that afternoon (and it did. 28 inches.) I thought we were going to have to sit through the blizzard without running water until I noticed Mr. Rooter was in the next town over and gave them a call. The receptionist was very friendly and professional and checked to find out that they could send someone to work on our situation in 45 minutes. Happy dance! Mike was very friendly, knowledgeable and professional and was able to get the clog in our line cleared in less than an hour. My husband and I were very impressed and very thankful to have running water again before the big snowstorm. I would be happy to call Mr. Rooter again and to recommend them to others.
Josie B.I called Mr. Rooter thinking an established company, while possibly pricey, will do the job right. I was wrong. I got the work estimate a few months ago, and waited until I had the funds to schedule the work. Finally I called and Ed the Plumber came out on Monday to see what materials he'd need, etc., and then came back on Tuesday. Three hours later, he had changed the wrong pipe under my wash basin, replaced our old, unworkable wash basin faucet with the spout that could be moved over both basins with four -- yes four! -- spigots. Stupid. And did NOT replace the pipe that actually leaked. In fact, he told me he couldn't because they don't make them anymore. He said to buy some CLR, clean it up and just wrap it with duct tape. Did I mention there was a HOLE in the pipe?
Well what do I know, I'm not a plumber. Anyway, it gets worse.
I called for two reasons: To fix the outside hose spigot and to replace a leaky valve inside the basement. I decided to replace all the corroded valves while I was at it and fix the wash tub and a little sink we have near a toilet. He fixed the sink, but it leaked. He replaced all the valves but the one that leaked. Then he said we hadn't agreed to fix it. I showed it to him on the estimate and he said, well, it just needed to be tightened. So he tightened it. I'm not happy at this point, but what do I know? I'm not a plumber.
OK, so he leaves without showing me his work. Like, he rushed out. I go downstairs to check it all out, turn the water on in the washtub, and WHOA-- water sprays everywhere! I call the guy, tell him he has to come back. He comes back, a bit miffed, then realizes he forgot to add a part -- doh! -- and all is well. He leaves.
Not an hour later I realize that damn leaky valve is now leaking WORSE! Ed, you need to come fix it! It's 4:50. Not today, he says. Tomorrow. Tomorrow, no call, no Ed, I call the company. This is Wednesday. They send out Wade.
Wade goes through the job and identifies all the problems, quickly finds a replacement pipe for the one Ed said to use duct tape (!!) on, and has to come out the next day since he has to rush to get the parts.
Thursday, Wade comes and fixes everything and a little bit more. Yay!!!!
Friday I wake up to a dry basement. Yay!!!! But then we do a load of laundry, and there's water on the floor. I sit and watch the machine through a cycle and wouldn't you know it? That pipe on the left hand side of the basin, the one that didn't need fixed because it wasn't the one that leaks, now leaks!!
And today is Saturday. Yeah. They'll be back between 9 and 10.
If you need a plumber, don't call Mr. Rooter. If you do, tell them DON'T SEND ED.
Esther T.way over priced for their work ... charged $158.00 to put on 2 - half inch fittings and 5"" of 1/2"" copper pipe to fix a leak I would not suggest or advise anyone to use them for anything
LC D.After several uncertain estimates, for a possible water main leak, a friend recommended Mr. Rooter Plumbing. What a good choice. The technician took the extra time and applied his expertise to give an honest evaluation of the situation, which was not a water main leak. Thankful that there are still reliable, honest companies like Mr. Rooter Plumbing!
