David Duck established Mr. Rooter Plumbing in 1970, launching his first branch in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Duck launched his plumbing venture and named it Mr. Rooter. After negotiations with Don Neighborly, Mr. Rooter Plumbing was acquired by The Neighborly Group in 1989. Although Duck sold the business rights and original franchises, he kept his shop in Oklahoma City. David Duck remains a franchise owner to this day.
