David Duck established Mr. Rooter Plumbing in 1970, launching his first branch in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He started his own plumbing company and chose the name Mr. Rooter. The Neighborly Group purchased Mr. Rooter Plumbing in 1989 following discussions between Duck and Don Neighborly. Although Duck sold the business rights and original franchises, he kept his shop in Oklahoma City. David Duck remains a franchise owner to this day.
