Water heater needed to be cleaned. They came and left 3 times before finishing. They turned water up to hottest temp so water cane boiled out of water heater to my outside. The plumber explained they had turned it all the way up, causing water to expand, so it was leaking out versus exploding if trapped in water heater. I told them in was emergency and still had to contact them twice before getting a response. In the 3 days it took them to come fix it, hot water streamed out nonstop. I also paid a $45 service fee. They told me if my homeowners covered it, the $45 would be refunded to me, if it wasn't covered( which it wasn't) the $45 would be deducted from my total. They charged me $255 plus $45. The night they finally came back, the girl on phone tried to tell me I may get charged another fee..for them fixing their mistake..my homeowners made me think I didn't get to chose plumbers or I would of gone w roater rooter. The one nice thing I can say about Mr.Rooter is the plumber they sent was polite and seemed sympathetic, although what he told me as far as pricing didn't match up w my charges.
My shower was broken down last weekend, I called Mr. Rooter, they sent Steven to help, He diagnosed the problems without charging me, I could tell that he was very honest , and he fixed my shower, I am very satisfied with his technique support and good work.
Melissa D.I usually use Yelp to RAVE about businesses. Unfortunately, this is not the case. Last fall, There was some plumbing issue that arose in the house I'm renting from my closet friends. When quoted, they told them it would be about $3k-$4k to do. They agreed. Upon digging up the plumbing line's, they found more. The job ended up being over $11K. Then a month after finished, there was still issues and another $1k spent. This job required the company to dig up the drive way and aspault it again. They left a terrible mess when they left. I know they don't guarentee landscape, but BIG chunks of asphalt? I was livid. I shoveled it and cleaned it, & let it slide. It wasn't worth it.
About 6 months go by, and the big ""Y"" shape they dug down the driveway was caving in. One big pot hole on an 11K job. I took it upon my self to call and report the job done. I felt heard and that they were going to make it right. They came out to look the next day.
1 month go by. I call again. They need to hire an actual asphalt company since they underestimated the job originally.
1 more month goes by. The asphalt company is booked out. They tell me that they'll text to confirm a date.
2 more weeks go by and I get home from work at 5:30pm and they are here digging up my driveway so the asphalt company can come make it right. ??
A call would of been nice. Not what I wanted to come home too without notice.
Pros: secretary is nice and professional...(when she calls back). They sure don't have a problem calling when the job is going to cost $7K more!! The workers are nice. The company ended up making the driveway right after months and almost a year since the original job.
Let me say too; I know everyone involved works hard. I don't want to undermine that. However, communication could of been better. Also, I do think since they so badly underestimated the job there should of been some sort of discussion on price. That was their problem!!! I think took advantage of my friends but no offered no solution. What is someone supposed to do when they're property is dug up like the grand canyon?!? Oh, and payment plans are offer IF YOU ASK. Otherwise expect to pay in full.
The plumber was a nice guy. I just feel like I got ripped off. He replaced 3 pipes under my sink (they cost between $1 and $5 each at Lowes) and snaked out my kitchen sink for 5 minutes. The cost was over $500. I paid it because I was desperate.
After replacing my pipes under the sink, he left my dishwasher drain hose loose and leaking because he wanted to charge me an extra $206 to replace it (the next day, I might add). I told him I would replace it myself. The drain hose I bought cost $7.50 and I ended up returning it because It took me five minutes to figure out how to re-clamp the dishwasher drain hose to the garbage disposal so that it wouldn't leak.
I really don't recommend them. They are over-priced and do sloppy work.
HI
I called on a Saturday and they told me he would be there within an hour and an hour and a half later no sign
Kelly K.The Mr. Rooter employee was honest about the potential cost. He was quick to respond and kept me updated about my problem with the drain. He worked up to 8 pm on a Saturday to resolve the block with my drain line. I was very pleased with the service I received.
What a rip off! Had a clogged drain and when the dishwasher was turned on had a few gallons a water overflow. I can live with the $378. bill but they wanted to tear up tile and sheet rock because they said we would have mold! Never again Mr Rooter!
Cory W.Eddie was great. Honest guy. I had called several other plumbers and was told that I'd have to wait a week. Eddie got the problem fixed same day.
Matt S.I woke up this morning to a toilet that would not work. I called Mr. Rooter and they sent Shane their service tech over. He asked me a few questions and I told him what I had found. He asked me to take him outside, there was a vent for the crawl space that I had forgotten to close. Last night we had temps as low as 4 degrees with the wind blowing crazy. The vent was directly in line with the pipe that feeds the toilet.
He did not charge me for the visit and just gave me some advice on how to fix the issue. 10 minutes after he left the problem was fixed.
I am very satisfied with my experience with Mr. Rooter and service tech Shane.
Con artists in my opinion. We had mr rooter come to quote us for the work we needed doing. They said $1000 & told us all these things needed doing also costing $3000. We got a second opinion & the next day got the work done for $89!!!!!!! Everything works great again. This is 2 weeks ago & we haven't had a problem since. I have a feeling these people are preying on the elderly & those that would quickly trust their friendly staff. Mr rooter, please stop trying to rip people off.
