Mr. Rooter Plumbing was founded by David Duck in 1970, with its inaugural location in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He started his plumbing company and chose the name Mr. Rooter. After discussions with Don Neighborly, Duck sold Mr. Rooter Plumbing to The Neighborly Group in 1989. Duck maintained ownership of his shop in Oklahoma City, even after selling the business rights and original franchises. David Duck remains a franchise owner to this day.
