David Duck established Mr. Rooter Plumbing in 1970, launching his first branch in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He started his plumbing company and chose the name Mr. Rooter. After discussions with Don Neighborly, Duck sold Mr. Rooter Plumbing to The Neighborly Group in 1989. Duck maintained ownership of his shop in Oklahoma City, even after selling the business rights and original franchises. David Duck is still a franchise owner today.
