David Duck established Mr. Rooter Plumbing in 1970, launching his first branch in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He began his own plumbing venture, branding it as Mr. Rooter. After discussions between Duck and Don Neighborly, The Neighborly Group acquired Mr. Rooter Plumbing in 1989. Although Duck sold the rights to the business and its original franchises, he retained his shop in Oklahoma City. Today, David Duck continues to be a franchise owner.
