He created his plumbing company and chose the name Mr. Rooter. After discussions between Duck and Don Neighborly, Mr. Rooter Plumbing was purchased by The Neighborly Group in 1989. Although Duck sold the business rights and original franchises, he kept his shop in Oklahoma City. David Duck remains a franchise owner to this day.
