City branch Closed its doors; had some maintenance in our contract and sadly corporate will not honor the service agreement signed. Sadly, the complete water system is under 2 years old. If you live in an area that has a Benjamin Franklin plumbing, I highly recommend that you use another proprietor.

I had a water softening system installed in 2012 at my home in San Antonio TX and was given a 10 year warranty. A company that doesn't honor their warranties is a company you do not want to do business with. Look elsewhere for your water softener or any other plumbing needs.

I was directed to Benjamin Franklin Plumbing by HomeAdvisor. I was very explicit in my written instructions when filling out my HomeAdvisor survey that I wanted my 9 year old tankless water heater Burner Assembly Cleaned! VERY straightforward. As a secondary concern I asked about descaling as I have had done in the past and having service valves installed to make descaling easier to do in the future. The technician (Kevin) went OCD on us and could not get over the fact that my tankless didn't have service or flush valves ALREADY installed. He mentioned regulations required them and that very few plumbers could or would flush the system without the valves! He said he could not install servicing valves and my heater. He said the owner of Benjamin Franklin was very strict and the owner would not allow him to work on my tankless because it is not up to "code". Oh... and the technician said the gas lines were too narrow and it would cost THOUSANDS of dollars to fix. Complete BS, NONE of which had anything to do with CLEANING THE BURNER ASSEMBLY! The gas lines provide plenty of gas and pressure. My system has worked flawlessly for 9 years. 1) I found Benjamin Franklin Plumbing on Home Advisor. 2) I called the company the next day and spoke to Amy who told me that their technicians knew how to clean and work on Tankless systems and specifically the Burner Assembly..."Oh yeah, they do it all the time". 3) By the way, I have had my tankless flushed by CLARK KENT plumbing on two previous occasions without service valves and they managed just fine. 4) I have a written quote from CLARK KENT plumbing to install servicing vales for $350. 5) I'm sorry but regulations DON'T require servicing valves! I'm very disappointed that my first experience with HomeAdvisor put me in contact with Benjamin Franklin. I should have simply contacted Clark Kent Plumbing. So to wrap it up, Technician looked at my heater, was really dismayed over no service valves (which again has nothing to do with the burner assembly) and said "no can do". Was told it would cost THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of dollars to service the heater. I was then charged $59 bucks for a rather incompetent service call. Ridiculous. Sorry folks, I don't like to be fed a load of BS. My tankless is located in my attic and is positioned oddly making it awkward to gain full access. I speculate this is the reason this technician had a problem with working on my heater thus discouraging the work by telling us it would cost THOUSANDS of dollars to service. I will end up pulling the burner assembly and cleaning it myself.

I had a toilet connection break and I called out these guys. I had a little water on the ground and they insisted a restoration company come out because "I get paid $400" from some company called dry force or dry time. Some guy showed up and wanted to charge me $1000 to vacuum up the water. This company was not reputable like others in the city. I told them to take a hike.
I called the local manager Rick about this unethical company and he claimed he got paid from them too! Buyer Beware!!! These guys are dirty and unethical.

Ben Franklin Plumbing came out, gave me the best quote for the water softener install (with existing pipes), took them a total of an hour to do the job but paid for three hours including parts. The plumber didn't want to wait around to test it and he didn't ask for the manual to get it to go through the cycles. So he never tested the system. I go in the garage and the water softener is filling my garage with water. The job was never completed and now I am sitting here with a non-working water softener and no call when I called Ben Franklin last night at 6 pm to tell them the job was incomplete! Really disappointed. I really liked the plumbers and they seemed trustworthy, but make sure they finish the job before you let them leave because they are NEVER coming back to complete the job, now I am left trying to figure out what to do since I am out $400 and still don't have a water softener working.

We had a clogged drain and the first plumber we called couldn't do it because he had to get on the roof to unclog it and his company didn't allow that. Then he spent an hour telling me how to landscape our yard. Ugh. Gross.
Benjamin Franklin came in, got on the roof and unclogged it and charged us a reasonable price. We had to call them out again for the same issue and we got the operations manager, Rich, who did a spectacular job of explaining what was going on, explaining the options and making himself accessible to us after the call. He was incredibly nice, clean, professional! A+++!!!!
