Do you love surprises? Well, this company may be for you. We all get a few estimates when hiring a company to do repairs/work in our homes. I needed a handyman to do several small repairs around my home. My Handyman sent out an employee to give me an estimate. I had already sent a list of repairs needed at their request. They advertise their technicians to have an average of 10 years' experience in the trade. After showing the technician all the repairs needed, he gave me an estimate of 3 1/2 hours of work at about a little over $400.00. He reassured me that even though that was just an estimate the cost would not exceed $500.00. He arrived at 8:00 a.m. and did not leave until 2:00 and the cost more than doubled $880.00. At one point the technician sent me to Lowes to buy screws. He said that it would save me some money by me going to Lowes so that he could continue working. I used my own money to pay the screws. He needed the screws to replace a few transition strips that go between carpet and tile and the screws are sticking out. This was the reason I replaced the transition strips in the first place. Now I have to call them back so that they drill them in correctly.
I have had several sleepless nights. I can't believe this happened to me. I am a retired, female, senior citizen with a fixed income and I must try to see how I can make ends meet this month and probably the next. Please be careful if you still want to give this company a chance. There were other companies I could have gone with and now I wish that I would have remembered the saying ""if it's too good to be true, it probably is."" Good luck on any hiring that you do. Take your time.
