Carlos has done 2 jobs for me. One last month were he built shelves in a storage room which looks great. Excellent workmanship and pride in his work.
Because Carlos did such excellent work I requested him again to remove wire shelving in my pantry and replace with wood shelving. Again an excellent job. I plan to remove all wire shelving and request Carlos to do the work. Also he is kind and courtesy.
Disappointed. I was a first time customer when I scheduled an appointment for a small but somewhat urgent repair in my home. Some days later, the business called me to reschedule. I agreed to the new date but politely stressed that I needed the repair done. About a week after that, the business texted me to totally cancel the scheduled repair. It is not uncommon for contractors to cancel or not show but obviously it's very frustrating.
Joseph F.Brandon installed my exterior door to the garage, along with the trim and addressed other trim issues I had around the house. He did a great job, worked quickly and cleaned up any mess. I will definitely be hiring Mr. Handyman in the future and would recommend them to anyone.
Terrible! DO NOT USE!
They sent men unable to do the work! They left the job. The owner is terrible to talk to and nasty! They lie about the work that was agreed upon and then want to charge you extra when it is needed to be completed. People in the office are just as nasty!
No stars. Lattice installed around my deck fell off the next day. Handyman came back and fixed the problem but the lattice fell off again. And again. Railings installed on my porch several months ago still bowed with some balusters installed upside down. We called the office to let them know. They were supposed to return to paint the balusters after curing but no word from them. They haven't gotten back to us yet. It's been more than a week. Fence repair keeps coming apart.Pricing for the bad work was exorbitant. Poor poor service. Can't post without choosing at least one star but no stars deserved.
Had birds getting into an external vent. Had other contractors look at it for help. Did not get any response or it wasn't considered important. This company came out ASAP with a quote and did the job within a week.
Antonio did a great job explaining what he was going to do and afterwards explained what he actually did. He even cleaned the area where the birds made a big mess. Overall, great experience, quick job, great outcome. Very pleased with the outcome and requested another quote for additional work.

Short version: The handyman admitted (mid-job) that he wasn't the right guy for the job & couldn't do it, and he left a hole in the wall, dirty hand prints everywhere he worked (on our freshly painted white walls), and none of the tasks that we hired him to do completed. The workmanship was TERRIBLE (see photos) and then the owner of Mr. Handyman, Lon Ziegler, told me that his only solution was to send this same person out to fix everything, or I would have to wait indefinitely until post-COVID-19 to have the work fixed by someone else. He was unable to send anyone else out to fix the damage caused by the original handyman any time soon. Our painter agreed to come fix the hole caused by Mr. Handyman and the area where the handyman scratched the paint off the wall, but Mr. Handyman refused to pay for our painter to fix the damage. Instead, Lon Ziegler thought he deserved a customer service award for not charging me and tried to shame me for caring about the damage to my house, in light of COVID-19. In his words, a hole in the wall and dirty walls ""are not a crisis."" I didn't realize his company was called, Mr. Crisis, I thought it was Mr. Handyman! They sure were willing to take my money when I called to schedule the work and I didn't hear anything THEN about my work not being important enough.
Long version: I called Mr. Handyman to do basic tasks in my house - install liners in my kitchen cabinets, replace toilet paper holders in the bathrooms, etc. I was very happy to find out they were still operating during COVID-19 - we just moved into a new house last week and it has definitely been a stressful move during COVID-19. We have been extremely appreciative to any workers willing to come to our house at this time.
When I called I was told I'd have to wait several days for someone to come out, but they'd be able to do the work. Michelle had me go through the specific tasks I needed done and she said there were easy and no problem.
Yesterday the handyman showed up and we showed him the specific work to be done. He said OK, it should take about 2 hours to do the work, 3 hours max. (Side note: the rate for Mr. Handyman work is a hefty $158/hour.) He said he would start in the bathroom to replace the toilet paper holder because it would be very quick. Over an hour later, he was still working in the bathroom so my husband went to check on him. The handyman was trying to install the toilet paper holder on the wall and failing miserably. He had already put a hole in the wall but was unable to attach the new holder (after over an hour of trying). Additionally, the handyman made dirty hand prints all over our white walls that were just painted last week. He agreed to move on to a different task because he wasn't able to attach the toilet paper holder to the wall.
Then he moved on to installing a door stopper in the master bedroom. He was able to install it, but he left dirty hand prints around the wall where he was working (again, on freshly painted white walls) and also scratched the paint off the wall in one area.
Next, he started doing the kitchen cabinet liners. We asked him what he was going to cut them on and he wasn't sure. We would have thought he would have come prepared with a cutting mat or something, since we detailed the job on our initial call. He offered to cut the liners on a piece of drywall he had in his truck. He spent OVER AN HOUR cutting the material for ONE shelf in ONE cabinet. The shelf was circular, but it shouldn't be a problem for a professional. After an hour passed and he still wasn't done with one cabinet, I went to take a look. I'm attaching photos so you can see how truly terrible it looked. At that point, he admitted that he was really not the person for this job and he doesn't know why the company would have sent him for this. He told us that we wouldn't be charged for the time spent doing that because it clearly didn't look good at all.
I thanked him for his honesty and he left. I have extended extra patience & understanding to companies willing to work during COVID-19 and I extended that same courtesy here. I called and explained the situation to Michelle and offered to send her photos. She was apologetic, but no one offered any initial solution. I wanted to find out how the hole would be fixed, the mess cleaned up, and how the work would be completed. Today I received an email from the owner of Mr. Handyman offering to send the SAME handyman to come back out. This guy already couldn't get the job done and made a huge mess everywhere, obviously I didn't want him back. I eventually got Lon on the phone and he told me if I wasn't happy with the same handyman coming back there was nothing else he could do now. I offered for our painter to fix the work and he could pay to fix his handyman's damage and he said no way. TERRIBLE WORK. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. STAY AWAY!!
