I have used MP Plumbing in the past and I have been satisfied with their work. However, today I had a terrible experience with the owner of the company. I had called all last week, leaving messages for him personally to please call me back. I never received a call, so I called the receptionist again and I made an appointment for a plumber to come out to my house.

Today, Rick, the owner of the company called me yelling at me, and telling me that the plumber was not going to come out today. He told me that I was lying to him, that I had only left one message (that is not true, but he didn't respond to it either.) He told me that I wasn't worth the phone call.
To be fair, he was probably having a bad day. However, I am not the one that was causing his bad day. My project was not a plumbing project, but I told the receptionist that, every time I called. I also, said so on each message that I left Rick.

He could have calmly and in a respectful manner said that he couldn't help me, and maybe even point me to someone that could help me. He chose not to handle it in a manner of a respectful business owner. I have never been so terribly by someone that I was totally prepared to pay for the services that I requested. You just don't treat your customers, or anyone for that matter, that way.
I will never use this company, nor ever recommend their service to anyone.
I have never left a negative review, but Rick's behavior was so over the top rude, that I didn't want that to happen to anyone else.

It always happens close to the holidays, doesn't it? The MP Calvary are coming out to help me with a plumbing problem. Hallaleujah and no sweat when I know they're coming.

I called these guys to replace the polybutylene waterlines that were all through my 2 story house. They referred me to a sheet rocker and together they replaced my waterlines and repaired the sheet rock. (oh yeah, its was big job) They also put in new shower heads and updated my laundry facilities! These guys were good, it was a messy job but they were good about cleaning up and more importantly I haven't had a leak since. No more worrying if the polybutylene was going to burst today and flood my house. Good job guys, thank you. Oh yeah...they were always on time!

We've been using MP for many years. As a contractor we trust MP to do a great job and give us a fair price. These guys know the business, they treat their customers well and provide excellent workmanship. We will always happily recommend MP to our customers and our friends.

We were having pressure problems with our house, and a plumber came out to fix our shower. He ended up breaking a pipe in the wall and poking holes in the ceiling downstairs to drain the wall. He did replace the shower cartridge in the course of flooding our wall, and installed the cartridge backwards. I called the owner and asked him about the repair and he was very nice on the phone and said he'd come take a look and he thought that poking holes in the ceiling was not normal, but the pipe breaking was a risk we ran with doing any plumbing.

When the owner of the company did come to the house I showed him the damage, and he wasn't as magnanimous in person. He said in so many words that there was nothing he could do for me; He did offer a 100 dollar credit, but that wasn't worth it because his company was ""300 dollars into it"" which is odd because I paid them the amount for the ""repair"",so I am 300 dollars into it, not them.

When I asked if there was anything else we could do to rectify the situation he then told me that if we tried to sue him for the damages we'd very probably lose. I t
I asked him for a quote to fix the rest of the house and address the pressure problem, and I haven't heard from them since.

The owner seemed to have zero interest in making sure we were at least even a little ok with the way our house was left, and said in so many words there was nothing he would do for us.

Now we're out $325.00, the hot water is where the cold water used to be in the shower, we have a broken shower handle, a hole in the wall and screwdriver holes in our ceiling.

My stupid mistake (besides calling them in the first place):

I actually signed and paid the repair bill after the fact even though I watched the repair guy write up everything after all the damage had been done.

A word of advice for new homeowners out there: If you're not happy with a repair job, don't pay them until they address your issues. I paid them right after the damage and because I was ignorant pretty much guaranteed full immunity for MP plumbing.

Now we have holes in our ceiling, our plumbing still needs to be replaced, we still have repairs that need to get done, and ZERO leverage with the company.

I'd stay far away from this company.

We have used these guys for 6+ years. I always know I'll get a professional, polite, plumber, who removes shoes before entry.
They try to save me time, service calls, and headaches every time they come. They work with you to take pictures and email them to the office, so they can see if they have parts, etc, before they waste your time with a service call. Thoughtful!
I would refer them to my friends and family. so I thought a yelp review was in order.

We called MP Plumbing to fix a insta-hot hot water heater at my business. I was out of town when it broke, and we explicitly told them to call us if it looked like it would cost more than $200. They never called and we got a bill for $450. In my opinion this is really inexcusable. But wait, there's more...

I made the mistake of leaving a check for them, so they got paid before I could argue my case. For the past three and a half months I have been calling Mike at MP Plumbing to try and reconcile the situation. He always acts confused, says he needs to look into it, and never calls me back. Then I call again and the cycle repeats itself. This has happened about 5 times.

Mike - if you're reading this, please do not call me. It's too late to make this right. I will eat the money you guys overcharged me in hopes that I can warn someone else on websites like this.

Very nice man. Spent some time here. But wanted to fix a small blockage in the kitchen with new pipes from basement on up. We decided to get another estimate and had it fixed for 99 rather than 800. SO get some estimates!! Then he sends us a bill for $200. I think not!!

i'm not sure how we first got the MP name. We used them 7 years ago when we found the gas flame exposed on our water heater. Our home was new and it had been installed improperly by someone else. This week, I found the boiler room flooded from a corroded extension tank on the hot water heater. MP came out the same afternoon and replace it. They also repaired a cracked hose bib. Explained everything & alternatives with trustworthy recommendations. Not cheap, but neither was the work they did. I wouldn't bother trying another plumber again.
