We have been using Morrow and Holman for 20 plus years at our properties and they have consistently gone the extra mile to make sure our tenants are taken care of. We haven't found the same caliber of knowledge or work ethic with other companies we have used in the past, MandH stands out in this regard. I have met every employee and have the utmost confidence in them, in part because it's been the same guys for so long! We will never use anyone else. In the age of instant gratification I appreciate a business that takes their time to do the job properly, it saves in the long run.

Have used them for my condo over 15 years. It was great until original owner sold. I used them recently and it was the same plumber Ray I knew who got the job done. However I did clock him this time and they were not honest. Charged me an extra half hour. He also left to go grab a ladder after he started working. I should not have to pay for that driving time. I would use them again since they have great service but I will warn anyone they could be dishonest.

Fred is among the rare breed of plumbers who doesn't by default recommend a big job just because it's easier for them to make a quick buck... ""if it ain't broke, don't fix it"" is not a mantra most plumbing companies live by. (I have the names of at least 3 other plumbing companies who I have on my mind)

Fred spent the time to thoroughly diagnose the issue and recommended just cleaning out the pipes for now and monitoring rather than digging things up to refit a bunch of pipe... a 3 figure job rather than a 4-5 figure job quoted by others.

Two other plumbers tried to convince me of doing much more work than I actually needed. Fred and team did just what I needed.

Thank you for your honesty and not just trying to make a quick buck at my expense.

I needed to replace a flexible pipe under a bathroom sink that was not leaking, but old and had collected grime over many years I had not used Morrow & Holman in years and had good experiences with them in the past. They gave me a window of 9am-noon but when I called they accommodated my hope for an early visit. Ysmael came. He was polite, put on shoe covers, completed the change out quickly and tested and wiped down the area before leaving. It is always great to use and support a local, small business. I expect to have them return to address another bathroom after this experience. Even with the poor reviews, I thought it was worth taking a chance, and now feel now I should share what occurred with my call.

I'm starting to understand the recent slew of low ratings. They didn't quote me a rate, so I was understandably shocked to receive a $140 bill for a 5 minute, non-emergency toilet clearing service call (our house sitter flushed part of a mop). He popped in, snaked the toilet line and popped out. We leave town and the toilet doesn't get used for nearly two weeks... and the problem is back because he didn't get the piece cleared! I get it, from their perspective they don't know what happened in that intervening two weeks. However, I did pay for a full hour of service and the problem isn't resolved. When I told him a $50 rooter service wouldn't charge me until the problem was fixed his response was to just call a $50 rooter service. Come on. Do better.
So now I'm out $140 and have to start over. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Unreliable. I made an appointment over a week ago, sat around for the window they require of four hours, and no one showed up. It was me who had to call them to find out what was up. They said they were busy and would not be coming out. Really unprofessional.

Reliable, honest, friendly, punctual are just a few things I can say about this wonderful company. This review is long overdue and I apologize. Diane is the lovely woman who has taken all my calls and such great care of managing my plumbing needs. This morning they arrived promptly to take care of a small job that left my shower running like brand new. But the main thing I need to share is the huge job they did on my street a couple years ago. And again I thought we posted a review but sadly did not. I was quoted an exorbitant amount from another company that I almost went with. This outfit pressured me, making it seem as if it was extremely urgent to get it done ASAP!! The amount was so beyond my budget! I explained to them what a huge burden it would be and would drain every bit of my savings. They suggested a loan from a second party, along with the interest I was looking at 5 years and at least 33,000.00 dollars. Because they said I would be responsible for the impending sink hole I thought I had no choice but to GET it done!! Fortunately I was informed by an outside party that my situation was, a big one that needed to be done and to take the time finding an honest company to do the job. He also informed me, I was being charged 3 times what the job should cost. So I immediately canceled and was referred to Morrow and Holman. They gave me such peace of mind and were so kind and considerate with my huge project. It was SO stressful and they took that all away instantly. I can't thank them enough for the wonderful job they did and the amount of money they saved me. I had other quotes that were in their ballpark but Diane was so understanding and kind, she turned a horrible situation into one that was bearable. Honesty and reliability is what you get with Morrow and Holman, I won't go with anyone else. Thanks Morrow and Holman!!

Don't waste your time, their travel area is a JOKE. They stated they don't travel 5 mines from their area, yet their work map on Yelp states otherwise. I stated I was in Baldwin Park, and the woman answering the phone stated, ""they don't travel outside of the SGV""... uhmmm o_O ma'am I am in the SGV literally 13 minutes for me to get to Pasadena. But that's their business, and they lost mine.

This is hard for me to write, but I have officially given up on Morrow & Holman. Former owner David Margrave was a dear friend and I cried when he died. He was a great man and I had been a loyal customer for over a decade. When Fred took over I assumed he would uphold the standard of service, unfortunately that has not been the reality. M&H had done all the plumbing work during the restoration of my home -- tons of work -- as well as tens and tens of thousands worth of plumbing and electrical work at our office over the years. I had diligently recommended them to everyone in the area and had given them a glowing five star review here. Well that review was removed last year when they left the office ceiling in pieces after fixing the AC and then failed to return calls to come back and fix it. Took three months to get the ceiling put back together and I had to cancel a holiday party as a result. Then last winter I asked them to run a gas line up to the attic at the house so we could finally get the heat on. There had been a complication with the chase being crowded when it was first installed and the crew never finished the job. Several M&H guys were sent out to do the work and every time someone came they would look in the attic, come down five minutes later, and say they'd need to come back. This happened maybe 3-4 times and no work was EVER done. I called the office to complain and Fred finally came one afternoon to finish the job... just had to cut a hole in the wall upstairs to bypass the chase and the system was up and running. He was here maybe six hours, tops. Was so grateful to have the heat on until I got the bill: $1800. To run a gas line. I checked estimates from other plumbers and the absolute highest quote with complications was $900. This was double. And they didn't even patch the hole in the wall! I called to ask how it could possibly be so high and was told workers had been out here working for several days... I said, um, no... guys stopped by and did nothing for several days. Fred is the only one who actually did any work and he was here ONE day. Long story short, they flat out refused to adjust the bill and we were forced to pay it or risk collections. Whatever. They also replaced the gas valve in the laundry room and did such a crap job (it is literally buried in the drywall) that it needs to be completely redone. More, I've now called and emailed Fred six times to come fix my AC compressor that's been down for over a year. He first came out to look at it and get part numbers six months ago and ZERO follow-up since. Now it's summer and we're dying. I've called the office several times and they just say, oh, I'll remind him. Then more nothing. At this point I'm assuming they no longer want my business since I balked at their overbilling. Well guess what, I'm done. Called another HVAC company who are coming out next week to replace the entire system. It kills me to post this, but homeowners need to know what they are in for... erratic customer service, exorbitant bills far above reasonable high estimates, shoddy workmanship, and zero loyalty. Good luck.
